Three Towers Game

Chapter 355: Chapter 125: Mysterious Night Terror_2

”The first monster I encountered, in this way, told me the rules.”

”The rule of ’solitary means death’ might be related to language. In other words, when the person outside the door asks if I live alone, if I indeed live alone, then I will die.”

”This monster could also be considered a beginner’s tutorial... though it’s a bit too terrifying.”

Wen Xishu still had that ’thud thud’ sound, as if it was going to break through the door, echoing in his mind.

He almost lost his courage.

”I would say my bravery isn’t on the same level as an average person, but even so, it was only through the stimulus of pain that I could break free from the illusion...”

”Anyone else might have already opened the door out of fear or shot themselves.”

Once Wen Xishu calmed down, a flood of information came to his mind.

First was regarding ’solitary means death’, he had new clues.

Secondly, Wen Xishu thought of something... Did this monster use this method to evoke his fear?

”According to the rules described, the visitor will lurk for a while. Once it starts lurking, it can be killed.”

”The reason for this is that the visitor is eager to obtain something from me...”

”It seems these things likely include fear.”

Wen Xishu completely relaxed.

He felt a bit hungry, so he went to the fridge, took out a cup of frozen yogurt, and leaned against the door to eat it.

At the same time, he began nodding to the rhythm of the knocking, as if he was enjoying a music beat.

The monster outside suddenly became somewhat enraged.

It was indeed wearing white clothes, indeed holding its head. The way Wen Xishu imagined it was indeed its real appearance.

The difference was, it never knocked on the door, but just used its pallid hand, as pale as plaster, to block the peephole, preventing Wen Xishu from observing it.

During this process, it sensed the gradually thickening ’delicacy’.

Fear.

This fear excited it, making it realize that the person inside this house would soon be scared out of their wits.

But not long after, the ’fear’ smell faded to almost nothing.

This meant the person in the house was no longer afraid.

At this point, Wen Xishu said:

”You’re not skilled enough, with such simple ways of scaring people. Too weak. If I were you, I’d be ashamed to knock on doors in such a game.”

Though the monster couldn’t speak, it didn’t mean it couldn’t understand words.

Wen Xishu’s voice from inside the door made it even more furious.

It really wanted to crash through the door.

Wen Xishu also realized—obviously, if the monster could create even a slight tremor, he would feel a more palpable fear...

But why did it only dare to make sounds?

Although he finally felt relieved, no longer thinking the other side would violently break down the door... but was it truly impossible for the monster to break through the door violently?

Thinking of this, Wen Xishu began to provoke the monster with words.

”Is your head made of tofu? You don’t even have the strength to crash the door.”

”Speaking of which, why are you wearing all white? Something as dumb as you shouldn’t mimic animals... oh no, with your brain, you should learn from mushrooms, make yourself bright red, maybe then people would be a bit scared of you.”

”Look at other monsters, more human-like than you, better at speaking than you, more dangerous than you, stronger than you, better looking than you, smarter than you. What’s the point of your existence?”

”You don’t expect God to let a fool like you evolve to a dominant level, do you?”

Gone.

No more noise outside the door.

Wen Xishu continued talking for a while before he realized... that chilling feeling was gone.

He looked through the peephole again and saw no one outside.

”Getting scolded away, is that possible...”

”It seems like it’s indeed afraid of breaking through the door.”

”Well, that’s good... no more fear now.”

Wen Xishu felt much more comfortable.

”Wait, it left just like that, still a bit strange... it wouldn’t dare to violently break in, but wouldn’t it at least dare to knock?”

”Moreover, if the monster can’t speak, it can’t trigger the rule of ’solitary means death’. So facing such a monster, if I just keep stalling with it...”

”Wouldn’t it actually be the safest? It blocks the door outside. Other visitors can only queue behind it.”

”So... it might not have left, but was expelled by the rules. In other words, a peculiar creature, or human being... can’t stay at the door for too long.”

”If it exceeds a certain time, it might just disappear?”

As Wen Xishu was thinking this...

The second knock came.

Ding dong, ding dong, ding dong.

This time... the visitor used the doorbell.

Wen Xishu took a deep breath:

”Don’t panic, don’t fear.”

The first encounter had indeed scared him, but now he was much more relaxed.

He leaned towards the peephole again.

This time, Wen Xishu saw clearly, it was a girl in a maid outfit with white stockings.

The girl was holding a sign that read ’Please let a kind god take me in’.

Wen Xishu was startled, on such a night... was there an Island Country’s ’god waiting girl’?

Yes, this kind of girl holding a sign, indicating ’waiting for god’, had a name in the Island Country—god waiting girl, a unique phenomenon of the Island Country.

These girls hoped to find someone who could provide them with lodging and food, a ’god’, to help them through their difficulties.

Of course, due to the Island Country’s laws, without a guardian’s permission, one cannot take minors home for the night. This legal restriction deterred many potential ’gods’.
