Three Towers Game

Chapter 351: Amended: Chapter 124 Challenge 3 Elites, The Craziest Tower Climb_4

His current level was the 42nd floor, which was originally the 14th floor.

And the task description was as follows.

[At the edge of the apocalypse, in that city full of obsessions, rules appeared early. And ”monsters” appeared early as well. In the early days, people had a hard time distinguishing those monsters. They seemed identical to humans.]

[They will act at night and will keep trying to get you to open the door for them.]

[You can’t be without companions, or you will surely die. But can you ensure that your companions... are indeed companions?]

[Don’t open the door after dark. You must open the door after dark. Between the rules and the monsters, between your teammates and the demons, please make your choice.]

[We hope you can complete this task, we hope you can find a home to resist the apocalypse for those with the aptitude.]

This was Wen Xishu’s task introduction.

This task inevitably reminded Wen Xishu of the ”Visitors.”

That was what he and Xun Hui encountered on the 52nd floor of the Slaughter Tower.

But those were the Visitors of the Slaughter Tower. The Visitors of the Slaughter Tower no longer looked human. Moreover, there were no additional rule aids.

But this task introduction seemed to imply that some strange rules would aid the Visitors.

Very likely... there would be times he had no choice but to open the door for the Visitors.

And this time, Wen Xishu did not have any teammates.

”The Deceit Tower is a terribly cold server. There’s no one exploring even on the 42nd floor.”

Since there were no teammates, there was no need to stay here any longer.

Faced with the swarming newcomers, Wen Xishu didn’t choose to linger. He directly activated the login device and left.

...

...

[The orange item you hold, Scorpio’s Cheating Dagger, will provide you with the following function throughout this round of tower climbing: Save and Load.]

[Note, this function will deduct one-third of your Tower Power Value (minimum of 2), current Tower Power Value: five points.]

Wen Xishu opened his eyes, and the first thing he saw was the prompt from Scorpio’s Cheating Dagger.

He was a bit stunned.

”Tower Power Value... Finally involved with this thing. To maximize the efficacy of the sequence, it’s needed; Wind City breaking the population cap also requires it; opening the world chat function in the chat channel also needs it.”

”Now, the new ability of the Cheating Dagger, saving and loading, also requires it.”

”If not for this prompt, I wouldn’t even have known how much Tower Power Value I have.”

”So, I already have five... No, to be precise, I’ve already climbed the Deceit Tower five times, and as the absolute main force, I earned these five Tower Power Values?”

”This thing is too rare.”

Of course, Wen Xishu also understood that the rarer something is, the more it indicates how powerful and functional it is.

”Loading a save costs one-third of the Tower Power Value, starting from two points. This time, I can at least load twice. That is, if I fail and don’t do well, I can rewind to a certain point at a critical moment.”

”This is undoubtedly a heaven-defying ability, and it consumes two Tower Power Values... Considering this, it’s normal for Tower Power Value to be so scarce.”

”But I’d better not load saves. I’ll pretend that the Scorpio Dagger doesn’t exist this time. I must plan carefully...”

At this moment, Wen Xishu could sort of feel Zhang Hai and Kate’s sentiments—wanting his life was okay, but wanting his Tower Power Value was not.

Speaking of the baby-faced wolf, Ye Lingfeng, Zhang Hai, Kate, and Blind...

Wen Xishu hadn’t obtained any attributes of any of them yet. This meant they were probably all still alive.

But a more likely possibility was—they hadn’t cleared the tower yet.

Zhang Hai and the others might find it hard to imagine someone would finish tower climbing instantly and then immediately start a new climb.

Wen Xishu took a deep breath and began to observe the scene this time.

Currently, it was daytime, 9:40.

There were hanging clocks in the room, more than one, and they were accurate.

Wen Xishu looked around. He could almost confirm that this was a... room in the Island Country.

Although the Three-Tower World had unified text and language, some styles could still be recognized.

For instance, tatami mats and teru teru bozu dolls.

Moreover, on the table, there were some recent discount coupons from Rokkasho City. The surrounding scenery reminded Wen Xishu of Okinawa Island in his previous life.

He started to observe the room.

”Hmm, the room is not small, a four-bedroom, two-hall space, possibly about 130 to 140 square meters. The owner of the house lives alone.”

”There is a guest room, a master bedroom, a study, and a storage room, a dining room, and a balcony; the balcony is enclosed.”

”The bathroom has a guest bathroom and a master bathroom...”

Wen Xishu also noticed one odd thing about this house, too odd to not notice —

The lighting in the house should have been good. But the house was covered with all sorts of talismans.

Despite everything in the house appearing bright, the light wasn’t coming from outside sunshine.

The light came from lamps and candlelight.

”This scene is kind of creepy... The windows, the balcony, any door leading outside, all blocked with talismans.”

Wen Xishu went to the window by the study.

Everything he saw outside was gibberish.

Right now, without any Anti-Magic Value, he was in the state where any monster outside could kill him in a second.

Any possibly useful item couldn’t provide any information.

Wen Xishu took out the Compass, and it spun wildly. This indicated... outside of this house, all was danger.
