Three Towers Game

Chapter 374: Chapter 128 The True Essence of Rokkasho Games_3

”Is there some kind of rule hidden in this? What could the rule be?”

Wen Xishu made a note of this, feeling that he had stumbled upon a crucial rule unintentionally.

But since he couldn’t drive them away, he couldn’t understand why they reacted so strongly either.

Wen Xishu stopped thinking about it:

”Then you can stay here; it’s indeed very dangerous outside.”

”By the way, as I mentioned before, the messages on TV might not be true; what do you think?”

No one spoke; the three monsters still stared at Wen Xishu in unison.

Wen Xishu was accustomed to their sanity-draining gaze and said:

”Mariko, my dear girl, do you remember that when I heard a certain sentence on TV, I said the message might be fake? You paused your movement at that time, agreeing with me. Right?”

Mariko had to nod.

Wen Xishu continued:

”So, we reached a consensus that when the TV broadcasts new rules, we should understand that those rules might be true or false.”

”Takahashi, Mr. Hanzao, what do you think? If you disagree, I can only ask you to leave this room.”

The latter part was yet another test by Wen Xishu.

Strangely enough, although he couldn’t force them to leave, upon hearing the words ”leave,” Takahashi Fumihiko and Mr. Hanzao had no choice but to agree with Wen Xishu.

Wen Xishu asserted:

”Good, next, if someone knocks on the door, that person might be real, because I think the statement that there are only four survivors on the island is false.”

”Four survivors, that must mean us four. I don’t believe it’s just us four.”

”I think there’s a problem with the television.”

Wen Xishu went to such lengths in preparation for opening the door next.

Because if the words on the TV were the absolute truth... and the people in the room must logically be real...

Then, it would mean there’s no one alive outside anymore.

In this way, even if Wen Xishu really invoked a human through praying, he wouldn’t be able to open the door.

Because logically, there are no living people outside, the ones knocking must be ”them.”

At the same time, Wen Xishu’s tactic also avoided the TV suddenly coming up with a new rule, logically forcing the monsters in the room to prematurely end their lurking period.

Undoubtedly, whether it was Mariko, Mr. Hanzao, or Takahashi Fumihiko, none wanted to admit the TV rules were fake...

But Mariko had something to desire, while Mr. Hanzao and Takahashi Fumihiko were intimidated by the words ”ask you to leave.”

This way, Wen Xishu’s preparations were completed.

Now he started praying.

Wen Xishu went to the door, and as he began to pray inwardly, hoping for a real person to appear...

He clearly felt some kind of power at work, and his body seemed to enter an almost mystical state.

[Prayer is taking effect. From now on, you will have a higher chance of encountering your prayed-for target.]

[If the target of your prayer does not appear in the next visit, the probability of success for the next prayer will increase.]

Wen Xishu didn’t expect this ability to have such an effect.

”So, the prayer doesn’t necessarily work a hundred percent, but if it fails, the success rate keeps increasing afterward...”

”I hope I can get it right in one go.”

Wen Xishu’s hopes were high.

But he didn’t hit the mark in one go; soon the room had a visitor on the second night.

The next knocker was a deformed being with three hands, and two eyes at different heights, making it look crooked.

Without a doubt, this was one of ”them,” the kind who didn’t even bother to lurk, intending to kill Wen Xishu immediately after getting him to open the door.

Oddly enough, Wen Xishu found this normal.

”Get lost! Do you think I’m stupid? Does a normal person have three hands?”

”But you have three hands,” said the person outside.

Wen Xishu looked at himself and, indeed... he had grown a third hand.

At that moment, it was as if his brain had been reprogrammed—yeah, doesn’t everyone have three hands?

But strangely, Mr. Hanzao, Takahashi Mariko, Takahashi Fumihiko... they all had only two hands.

”They are the monsters.”

This thought made Wen Xishu’s back turn cold.

Of course, he knew they were monsters, but he wouldn’t admit it, and the logic for deducing they were monsters shouldn’t be because they have two hands... yet just now, he almost subconsciously voiced it out.

”Damn it!”

Wen Xishu bit his tongue.

He managed to do this because he constantly reminded himself—never find a logical flaw that makes the monsters realize they are monsters, forcing them to end their lurking phase prematurely.

This had been his psychological preparation these past two days.

Even so, he was nearly breached by the monsters just now.

”Get lost! You’re not welcome here, three-handed monster!”

The monster snorted coldly:

”Isn’t it just you in your house? Don’t you live alone?”

”No, you’re the one living alone. Your entire household registry lives with you, yet you’re still alone.” Wen Xishu retorted.

The monster’s crooked eyes flared with anger, but there was nothing it could do to Wen Xishu.

”Your spiritual power is about to give out. I’ll be back tomorrow.”
