Three Towers Game

Chapter 244: Chapter 107: First Entry into the Slaughter Tower - 52nd Floor

Of course I’m scared.

It’s not about bravery; everyone should fear the levels Xun Hui can reach, even Xun Hui himself.

Nissen really didn’t want to go, but if his friends went and he didn’t, he’d look down on himself.

Besides, Xun Hui’s hallmark is being solitary.

Xun Hui is famous for not teaming up in the Slaughter Tower. If one could see the level where Xun Hui is early in life...

Experiencing the strength of the Slaughter Tower’s number one might be very helpful in the future.

With this thought, Nissen’s gaze moved down to Xun Hui’s waist... just like he did with Wen Xishu before.

Nissen thought: It’s still bigger, I win! Thinking this, Nissen felt his confidence returning.

Yue Yun and Nissen had mentally prepared themselves, Xiaojin had no problem either, as this wasn’t his first encounter with Xun Hui.

Xun Hui is one of the few people that Xiaojin’s grandpa didn’t have to praise.

There’s no need to praise because Xun Hui is indeed stronger. Xiaojin’s grandpa always taught him to find the strengths in ordinary people.

Not to be complacent because he is a genius.

That’s why Xiaojin’s praise is often awkward; he is sincere but really couldn’t find anything to praise.

But when facing Xun Hui, there’s no need for praise because, by his grandpa’s standards, Xun Hui matches him.

Xiaojin also wanted to know how he measured up to the number one in the Slaughter Tower.

Needless to say, Wen Xishu was a typical daredevil.

Seeing everyone follow him, Xun Hui was somewhat surprised, then he said to Ye Chenzhou:

”It’s a good habit to fight only well-prepared battles. As a teacher, you’re qualified, but as a warrior, you’re not.”

Ye Chenzhou shook his head helplessly.

Wen Chaohua was like this too; Xun Hui had invited Wen Chaohua the same way. He only hoped that these students would come back safely like Wen Chaohua did.

When Xun Hui led Wen Xishu and the others out of the dorm, they became the focus of the entire Slaughter Tower’s dormitory.

Yue Yun also noticed Miyamoto Yishu’s somewhat angry look. It turns out that the genius you want to challenge also looks up to an even greater genius, just as you look up to him.

Yue Yun’s inner fear vanished completely.

He realized that this might be a rare adventure, something unimaginable for ordinary people. No matter what, he couldn’t disgrace himself in this Slaughter Tower journey.

...

...

Material Department.

Storage locker area, Xun Hui opened two lockers with twenty-four compartments and said:

”Pick something for yourself here; there are some tradable items. Try to choose survival or defense-oriented items. Don’t pick anything offensive.”

”At the level where I am, you’re unlikely to encounter many creatures you can kill.”

The bright gleam of the purple items was overwhelming: knives, guns, clubs, swords, halberds, axes... The sheer amount of items left Nissen and Yue Yun stunned.

The Material Department usually lent blue items to students, which people scrambled for, but here were dozens of items used by Xun Hui, just laid out for them.

Nissen and Yue Yun were like kids from the lower floors seeing a ten-floor functional area for the first time, their eyes opened wide.

However, these items weren’t that similar to those from the Deceit Tower or the Desire Tower.

Slaughter Tower’s items had some restrictions. For instance: level restrictions, Slaughter Value upper limit restrictions, and even personal tower-climbing level restrictions could make some equipment unusable.

Yue Yun and Nissen could only choose among the items Xun Hui had used in his early climbs up to the first twenty floors. Anything further was not that Xun Hui was unwilling to part with but that these two couldn’t use.

This is why newbies cannot use the equipment left by veterans on lower levels.

For example, the key Wen Xishu rented earlier was just an ordinary blue item, which could be used by anyone on their first tower climb.

Yue Yun chose a sword.

Xun Hui’s weapons of choice were fists and a sword.

Yue Yun desperately wanted to become someone like Xun Hui, so he picked a purple sword.

”This sword is heavy; when standing, it can act as a shield. It’s a heavy sword; are you sure you want to use this?”

Xun Hui looked at Yue Yun, who nodded: ”I want to kill enemies. Its attributes make it the best offensive item among these.”

Xun Hui nodded, understanding this logic.

Back then, Albert also emphasized choosing life-saving items when he took Xun Hui.

But Xun Hui still chose a sharp sword because the purpose of coming to the Slaughter Tower was to kill enemies.

Nissen chose armor. The purple armor’s effect was that if teammates didn’t sustain damage for a short period, each teammate would provide a 4.5% damage reduction. Moreover, monsters were more likely to attack the person wearing this armor, and it had decent offensive power itself.

In other words, as long as Nissen could take the damage, his teammates wouldn’t get hurt, and he’d also take less damage.

Yue Yun said:

”Thanks.”

Nissen flashed a big white smile:

”I can take hits, each doing their part.”

To Yue Yun, someone willing to take hits was more admirable than someone willing to kill enemies. Nissen and Yue Yun quickly selected their gear.

Xiaojin didn’t pick anything; Xun Hui knew Xiaojin’s identity wasn’t simple and that he naturally had suitable items for him.

Wen Xishu didn’t pick anything either. After leaving the dorm, Wen Xishu let Yue Yun and Nissen pick, saying he already had his choice.
