Three Towers Game

Chapter 240: Chapter 105: Slaughter Tower Curse_3

”Why? Every time I kill, I stop at the threshold, but I never exceed it... I believe that each time, I control it very well.”

Albert laughed:

”That’s the reason. Once your Slaughter Value exceeds the limit, you turn into a monster. So many people set their safety line below the threshold. Most people leave once they meet the Slaughter Tower’s departure standards.”

”It’s only people like you and me... who always think about maximizing each benefit, trying to complete as many kills as possible. So every time, we push right to the threshold and try to stay as long as possible, even nearly staying the full seven days.”

Xun Hui was puzzled:

”But the rules allow us to do this, so why not? Killing monsters is quite fun, dismembering, decapitation, all of these actions bring me peace. And doing this also brings stronger and better rewards.”

Wenren Mirror felt like it was the first time he was completely playing a supporting role.

It wasn’t their first time having such a conversation, but it was the first time discussing this topic.

Wenren Mirror then realized that both the teacher and Xun Hui had such a heavy inclination towards killing deep down.

Albert said:

”In this aspect, you and I are quite similar. I prefer using sequenced power to directly melt my enemies.”

”That’s not the point. The point is... killing to the threshold every time will lead to certain powers affecting your mind. You can understand it as a curse, which it indeed is.”

Albert suddenly squinted his eyes and said seriously:

”It’s like the Slaughter Tower is afraid of you, so certain rules reject your entry, or they assimilate you.”

Xun Hui was hearing this for the first time and was a bit surprised:

”You never mentioned this before.”

Albert said:

”Because I’ve become too accustomed to it all. I didn’t expect someone to develop the same symptoms as me so soon.”

Xun Hui said seriously:

”I don’t want to give up exploring the Slaughter Tower, and I certainly don’t want to slow down my pace. Old man, I hope to fight alongside you before I turn thirty.”

”I am really afraid you are too old and will die before that.”

Albert laughed heartily again:

”Hahahaha, Mirror, you’re not as good as Xun Hui in this regard. I enjoy talking to Xun Hui.”

Wenren Mirror smiled, somewhat helplessly.

Albert said:

”Wander around in the Desire Tower or stay in the Bunker, essentially, it’s all about spending time eroding your brutal tendencies.”

”If you don’t want to waste time, then there’s only one way to alleviate the curse, and that is killing.”

Wenren Mirror asked:

”So, teacher... have you been killing people all these years?”

Albert made no attempt to deny it:

”Yes, just today, I killed someone, one of the officials in charge of cases under the Civil Affairs Bureau. I feel very refreshed right now.”

Wenren Mirror shook his head first, then sighed:

”I suppose that person deserved to die? Has he committed many heinous acts?”

Albert said:

”Yes, the people I have killed so far possess such characteristics. This time, the person used his position to wrongly judge many cases.”

”In the past, I have killed rapists, fraudsters, and those who set up honeypots. Once I played the role of a foolish, wealthy old man, bad people swarmed towards me. I like them being unscrupulous, the more heartless, the better.”

”Of course, even if one day this world has no bad people, as long as I need to climb the tower, I won’t give up killing.”

”Even good people will be killed.”

The kind-looking old principal spoke these words with a calm demeanor and steady pace, without any emotional fluctuation.

Wenren Mirror said nothing. He knew his teacher was devoted to solving the mystery at the top of the Slaughter Tower, clearing any obstacle in his path.

Xun Hui said:

”You’ve been killing for so many years, old man, you really hid it deeply. It seems you also won’t justify your killings.”

Albert sneered:

”There’s nothing to justify. In this world, if A was wrong, B was right, things would be too perfect. But that’s not the case, A is wrong, less wrong, B is wrong, more wrong.”

”All choices in life are nothing but choosing the right one, or the option with the least loss when there’s no right choice.”

Wenren Mirror felt somewhat helpless, but he knew the teacher was already trying his best to control himself.

Xun Hui completely agreed with this and had no reservations about killing.

”In that case, give me a list of people to kill, enough for the next three years. I won’t stop climbing the tower.”

Xun Hui exuded an aura of killing, cold-blooded yet decisive.

Albert shook his head:

”Madman, whoever you kill has to be investigated slowly.”

Wenren Mirror suddenly asked:

”Teacher, why doesn’t Wen Chaohua display these behaviors?”

Albert shook his head:

”If we don’t count that thing he did, judging by his previous behaviors, it seems he hasn’t been affected by the curse. He, like us, also seeks the highest completeness rating each time and pushes to the limit of the Slaughter Value.”

”But each time he meets me, I can’t feel any killing intent. The curse seems to have no effect on him.”

Wenren Mirror said:

”Then could this mean he knows some way to avoid it? Maybe he isn’t aware of it, but just accidentally did something to avoid it?”

”Though it sounds far-fetched... I always feel that Wen Chaohua and Wen Xishu are quite special. Perhaps we could find a way to suppress the Slaughter Tower’s curse through Wen Xishu.”

Wenren Mirror sighed softly:

”This curse is certainly simple to deal with by killing... For people in our position, it’s quite easy. But a curse is a curse. If it can be lifted, we should at least try.”

Xun Hui thought for a moment and said:

”Wen Xishu, is he Wen Chaohua’s younger brother? The guy who has been making headlines with four consecutive six-level completions in the Deceit Tower? Mirror, you think he can help us and the teacher break the curse?”

Wenren Mirror shook his head:

”I just think he might find some special method. This feeling is quite strange, but I do feel he might be like Wen Chaohua, someone who always brings surprises.”

Albert was very pleased with the change in topic:

”Yes, that little guy is very interesting. Speaking of him, let me tell you the next thing.”

Xun Hui and Wenren Mirror listened attentively, and Albert said:

”This is a very interesting little guy. Regardless of whether Wen Chaohua gave him some opportunity or treasure... in my opinion now, this little guy can eventually fill Wen Chaohua’s vacancy.”

These words surprised both Xun Hui and Wenren Mirror. The teacher’s evaluation of Wen Xishu seemed a bit too high.

Albert just laughed heartily:

”Xun Hui, he’s climbing the tower today, along with Old Jin’s grandson. You should join them. It’s his first time logging into the Slaughter Tower.”
