Return of the Antagonistic Lady Boss

Chapter 825: Chapter 799: Hero Saves Beauty, Never Regrets

At the critical moment, Fugui, the psychiatric forensic expert, played his role.

”Turn her around and look at her face, don’t you want to touch her, don’t you want to be with her?”

As Fugui said this, sure enough, the madman loosened his grip, and Qian coughed desperately, as fresh air flooded into her lungs, letting her know she had just skated around the edge of death. The madman wanted to hug Qian, but how could Yu Minglang give him that chance?

Just as the madman, influenced by Fugui’s words, let go of Qian, and his hand was less than 1 centimeter away from Qian, Yu Minglang decisively pulled his slingshot.

This slingshot was special, highly powerful, with iron pellets that could be used for self-defense in the mountains, effective against venomous snakes and even better against people.

The steel ball whizzed through the air and instantly struck the madman’s arm!

”Ah!!!!” The madman yelped in pain, and it was at this moment that Fugui swiftly dragged the still-coughing Qian to his side!

”Ah! Why did you hit my son? He’s mentally ill, killing people isn’t a crime for him!” Seeing her son hit, clutching his arm in pain and crying out, the mother panicked.

The madman, even after being struck on the arm, was relentless, still wanting to lunge at Qian. It was at this moment that Yu Minglang struck a second time, hitting the madman’s leg!

The madman lost his combat ability, collapsing to his knees, and at the same time, many security guards rushed over and subdued the crazed person. Yu Minglang quickly ran over, embracing Qian, who had narrowly escaped death.

Experiencing death and rescue took under two minutes, but for this pair of lovers, it felt like a lifetime. Qian’s throat had been strangled to the point she couldn’t speak anymore. After reaching Yu Minglang’s arms, she tried to raise her head to touch his face, seeing the concern in his eyes, she finally relaxed, her body softened, and she fainted in Yu Minglang’s arms.

Before she passed out, she only heard his worried shout, ”Hurry up and call a doctor! Don’t stop me, I’ll strangle this madman right now!”

Qian wanted to say, don’t be impulsive, I’m fine, don’t get in trouble over a mentally ill person, those two strikes were an act of bravery, but striking more would be a mistake, don’t do it...

The doctor arrived quickly, and fortunately, they always brought a full set of equipment into the mountains. They determined Qian had suffered from asphyxiation, and immediate rescue began, while the outraged Yu Minglang was held back by his two employees.

”Vice President, calm down!”

”Let go, I know what I’m doing.” Yu Minglang pushed away his employees and strode forward.

The madman had already been subdued, and Yu Minglang’s two strikes were perfectly justified, an act of bravery. Even if he had aimed at the madman’s head, it would have been acceptable. Self-discipline allowed Yu Minglang to control his impulses, merely targeting the arm to incapacitate rather than end the madman’s life.

”Why did you hit my son, he’s mentally ill, he can’t control what he does.” The madman’s mother rushed over to confront Yu Minglang, but was stopped by Yu Minglang raising his hand.

The madman’s mother was frightened by the fiery look in Yu Minglang’s eyes.

This man was terrifying, as if he was about to devour someone.

”Knowing he is mentally ill, why did you still let him out?”

”He’s mentally ill, why are you angry at me? I can’t control him; this time she just asked for it.”

Yu Minglang managed to restrain himself, but hearing this old lady speak about Qian this way and even say she deserved it, his temper flared up.

Yu Minglang let go of his grip, suddenly grabbing the old lady by the collar, dragging her to the ambulance to see Qian who was being resuscitated.

”He’s mentally ill, are you guardians just eating shit?! Let me tell you, if you weren’t a woman, I’d beat you to death today! Mental illness is not your excuse for arrogance! Look at my wife, look at her, and say it again, that your son is mentally ill and killing people is not a crime?”

”My son is indeed mentally ill, why do you treat him like this—ah!” The old lady felt a sudden pain in her knee as Yu Minglang kicked her knee from behind, forcing her to kneel in front of Qian.

It’s only because the counterpart was a woman, otherwise Yu Minglang might have flayed her. If the mentally ill son’s outburst was not unforgivable, the family’s arrogant attitude was the last straw for Yu Minglang.

...

”Look at what you’ve done!”

In the Yu Family’s CEO office, Yu Minglang stood upright, as his father pointed at him, frustrated.

”I have nothing more to say!”

”Is this how you handle things? You helped someone, and using the slingshot wasn’t wrong, but after saving them, why did you have to kick the relative? You didn’t injure her badly, but that woman came to the company demanding an explanation! She’s even involved the media, what should we do now!”

”Reporting to the CEO, I’m the one who kicked her, if compensation is needed, I’ll pay, if administrative detention is required, I’ll accept it. I’ve acted alone and I’ll bear the consequences, but I absolutely do not regret it!”

Even if time were to turn back, I would still deliver that kick, that old woman owed my wife an apology on her knees, Yu Minglang has no regrets.

”There’s no need for detention, as the impact isn’t particularly bad... but what were you thinking! Things had just calmed down, why cause trouble!”

Any father would be troubled with a son like this.

Incredibly capable, a once-in-a-lifetime business genius, but his temper is truly problematic. Mr. Yu was among friends drinking tea and boasting that his son had matured, had become stable, only for this big mess to unfold.

”You are at least a company leader, you represent the group’s image. If you want to deal with someone, do it behind the scenes. Now, with all those witnesses, the media has caught wind, and they are bound to stir things up. What were you thinking?”

”At that moment, I wasn’t acting in my capacity, it doesn’t count as embarrassing the company!”

Mr. Yu was so exasperated that he gave a quick kick, yet Yu Minglang stood unmoved!

Standing up for his wife, making her voice heard, even if time were reverted ten thousand times, he’d have no regrets!

”Why are you so stubborn? If you hadn’t kicked, using the slingshot to save hostages would have been reported, earning you praise, ’Vice President heroically saves lives’ is such a good narrative! Everything was great until your last kick stirred it up!”

If Yu Minglang hadn’t kicked, how great would it be, a perfect chance to promote the Yu Family!

The Vice President’s wife was taken hostage, yet he stayed calm, showed respect for life and didn’t use the slingshot on vital areas, a modern exemplar of a good man. So many people witnessed it, such a good opportunity could have been a promotional advantage for the Yu Family.

But then Yu Minglang closed the car door and gave that kick, directly booting his own chance for promotion away.

”I don’t regret my actions; the mentally ill person’s actions are uncontrollable. Though he hurt my wife, I can overlook it, but his mother’s words, as a husband, I cannot forgive! Dad, I ask you, if it were my mother who was harmed by the mentally ill, fainting and not out of danger, how would you feel hearing those words? Her son’s mental illness, is this her excuse for disregarding human life? I have not forgotten my mission, but I have not forgotten my role as a husband either!”
