Return of the Antagonistic Lady Boss

Chapter 808: Chapter 782: He’ll Get What’s Coming to Him, Trust Me

If it weren’t for the presence of her swollen-faced husband, perhaps the woman would have said a few words of thanks, but because her husband was there, she could only pretend not to recognize them. She didn’t want her husband to know that she had been hurt by a man before.

Qian had long seen through the warmth and coldness of human relationships and was calm about such situations.

”I’ve already understood the course of events on the way here, so tell me, how can we reconcile?” Qian asked the other party.

”Let him go to jail, there’s no room for negotiation!” The swollen-faced man was very arrogant.

”Let me educate you on the public security punishment regulations. Both of you have suffered minor injuries. If you don’t accept mediation, according to the current regulations, you’ll both be equally punished. Not only will he be detained for 5 to 10 days, but so will you, and both sides will have to pay fines. If you insist on making a fuss until the end, we don’t mind playing along with you.”

With Yu Minglang, the one who studied law, absent, Qian stood in for him.

After hearing Qian’s words, the man hesitated, and the woman beside him, who didn’t dare to recognize Qian and Qiuqiu, also shook his arm.

”Honey, let it go...”

”Let it go?” The man backhandedly slapped the woman, ”Are you having an affair with him?”

Seeing him hit the woman again, Qiuqiu reflexively stood up, thinking that he had been too lenient with this scumbag!

Qian reached out to stop Qiuqiu, ”Didn’t hit enough outside, want to continue here?”

Getting physical inside the station would be severe; it wouldn’t be just about reconciliation anymore, they’d definitely all be locked up.

”Exactly! I hit my own wife, what business is it of yours! I’ve long suspected you of having bad intentions. Tell me, are you having an affair with my wife? I hit my own wife on the street, what right do you have to interfere?”

”Anyone who hits women is scum, you’re not fit to be a man!” Qiuqiu really wanted to go over and beat up this bastard again, no matter how much he hit him it wouldn’t be enough!

”She’s my wife, I’ll hit her however I want!”

”If you continue, I’ll call for help. Try yelling about hitting your wife again in front of everyone?” Qian gave the swollen-faced man a cold glance, and he quieted down.

Qiuqiu really wanted to confront this bastard and fight again, but he knew that if the matter wasn’t clearly explained, the woman would still get beaten when she went back.

So Qiuqiu threw his ID card on the table, ”Look at this and then speak. There’s no way I could have anything to do with your wife, I was simply angry seeing you hit a woman.”

The man suspiciously picked up Qiuqiu’s ID card and looked at it repeatedly, and when he saw the gender marked as female, he blurted out in shock.

”So you’re a ’two-chair’!”

”Two-chair” is a derogatory term for someone who’s neither male nor female.

Qiuqiu’s veins bulged in anger upon hearing this, ”What I am is none of your business, whatever I am is better than a scum like you who hits women!”

”Now that things are clear, stop making unreasonable trouble.”

”Fine, since you’re a woman, let’s reconcile.” The man, having confirmed that Qiuqiu was a woman, lost interest. Qian’s earlier threat was effective, and he didn’t want to be detained, so he took the opportunity to reconcile.

Qiuqiu clenched his fists tightly, feeling extremely embarrassed at that moment. The disdainful look the swollen-faced man gave him after seeing his ID was very hurtful.

”No matter what you think now, suppress your emotions, otherwise you’ll only cause pain to those close to you and delight to your enemies, understand?”

Qian’s words cooled Qiuqiu’s anger.

After agreeing to reconcile and receiving some criticism and education, both parties could leave. Qiuqiu stood on the steps at the door, watching the woman and the man who hit her leave one after another, both without looking back. His gaze was filled with both anger and hurt.

This was the same woman he once did everything to help.

He had helped her return to society, and yet upon meeting again a few years later, she pretended not to know him, or Qian.

”Selfishness is a part of human nature; getting angry over this isn’t worth it.”

Qian stood beside Qiuqiu and said to him.

”I don’t understand why she would choose a scumbag like him.”

She would rather stick by a man who commits domestic violence and suffer, being completely obedient to him, than say a word of thanks to Qian and Qiuqiu who helped her.

”Everyone has their own destiny. Her choice has nothing to do with us. You’ve already done what you should, don’t think about her anymore.”

Qian never had extra feelings for women who sought abuse; her relationship with that woman ended long ago after the last rescue. Meeting again, they were nothing but strangers.

But Qian felt a bit heartbroken over Qiuqiu’s action of showing his ID. Seeing her friend humiliated like this, she definitely wouldn’t let that person off. Even under such unfair circumstances, Qiuqiu still thought about not letting the woman get beaten when she went back, and that was kindness.

Qiuqiu wasn’t as carefree as Qian; he couldn’t accept that the girl he had helped before had become like this.

”I really don’t want to let that man off just like that.”

”He’ll get what’s coming to him, trust me.”

Upon hearing Qian say this, Qiuqiu could roughly guess that Qian would probably take action. When Qian wanted to deal with someone, she’d usually say lightly they would suffer, and soon after, the person who offended her would experience bad luck, but no one could trace it back to her.

”Qian—”

”Shh.” Qian made a hush gesture, ending the conversation there.

Qiuqiu’s heart was still hurt. That ”two-chair” term had wounded his dignity. He was even more determined to save money for surgery to become a real man.

A few days later, that scumbag who hit Qiuqiu had his car smashed in a location without surveillance, making it a pinned case. More unfortunately, he was inexplicably fired from his job a few days later.

Even if that woman wanted to stay by the side of the abusive man, Qian wouldn’t intervene, but touching a friend of Qian was absolutely unacceptable.

”Sis!” Liumei, who had been waiting outside, saw them coming out and hurried over, accompanied by Bai Jin with a camera.

”Qian, what are you doing here?” Bai Jin was surprised to see Qian.

”Helping a friend with something, what are you here for?”

”I heard from the public that there was a fight, so I came to see—hey, weren’t you the one fighting?” Bai Jin looked at the injuries on Qiuqiu’s face in surprise.

”Stop interviewing, there’s nothing worth writing.”

”Qiuqiu was acting righteously, why not write about it!” Liumei was still indignant. ”What kind of world is this? That man committed domestic violence on the street, and Qiuqiu stepped in to help, but got caught too. It’s so unfair. How is that not acting righteously?”

”When it comes to domestic violence, even if it happens outside, or at home, the main approach is mediation. This matter mainly needs the woman’s cooperation. Without her cooperation and correction, there’s nothing we can do. Even if Qiuqiu was acting righteously, if the woman doesn’t acknowledge it, there’s nothing to be done.”

”Is that woman’s head filled with water? Doesn’t she know who’s helping her and who’s harming her?” Liumei was angry just hearing about it.

Qian shrugged, a clear officer couldn’t resolve familial matters. Unless the abused woman came looking for her help, even if she saw it, she wouldn’t intervene. Every family is different, and as long as the abused want to live such days willingly, nothing anyone else does will help.

Bai Jin was very surprised after hearing that Qiuqiu had saved someone and looked at him several times.
