Return of the Antagonistic Lady Boss

Chapter 803: Chapter 777: The Boss’s Overbearing Aura Reigns Supreme

After taking this case, Hua really did get cocky; in her eyes, the patient had been steadily improving.

But the patient stuck to Hua more and more—sometimes texting her out of nowhere in the middle of the night, not caring whether Hua was resting or not.

After a while Hua got sick of it; she started turning off her phone at night, and the patient just wouldn’t let it go, running downstairs to her building and yelling her name.

The patient was a girl in her early twenties, with a craving for friendship that was way beyond normal. In her heart, Hua wasn’t just a therapist, she was also the friend she’d been longing for.

That day Hua had just had a fight with her boyfriend, and the patient came over to cling to her again. Hua told her she was just a doctor and had no obligation to keep her company. The patient ran off without a word, went home, and slit her wrists.

Although they managed to save her in the end, Hua took a huge hit; after coming back from the hospital, her nerves completely collapsed and she just kept crying.

None of her friends could talk her down; she was totally out of control emotionally. She didn’t dare tell the big boss, so she could only go to the most capable and respected of her fellow disciples, Qian.

Chen Xiaoqian’s temples twitched; the thing she’d been most worried about had still happened.

Meiwei: Where is Hua now?

Stir-Fried Chili with Rose: At her place, lying on the bed crying, no matter how we talk to her it’s useless.

Meiwei: I’ll be there in a few minutes, send me the address.

Qian got up and grabbed some clothes to change into, not even bothering to cover the marks Xiaoqiang had left on her body, and shot out the door like a gust of wind.

She really did find Hua disgusting, but Hua was the big boss’s disciple; Hua’s mess was a mess of their whole lineage. If Hua was ruined, the one who’d be hurt most would be the big boss. That was a scene Qian absolutely did not want to see.

Hua and her boyfriend lived off campus in an old residential compound not far from the school. When Qian stormed over, Hua’s ”husband”—the one who’d almost put hands on Qian that night after drinking—was sitting on the sofa with Hua’s friend, both of them looking miserable. The bedroom door was tightly shut.

Seeing Qian, Hua’s man looked a bit embarrassed. Once, drunk and egged on by Hua, he’d almost gone after Qian; he couldn’t understand why Hua’s friend had brought this woman over.

But Hua’s man would soon witness Qian’s power and finally understand that the title of ”First Disciple” under the big boss was definitely not just hype.

”Where is she?” Qian asked.

”In the bedroom crying, it’s been hours, I’m scared she’ll cry herself dehydrated.” said Stir-Fried Chili with Rose, the one who’d messaged Qian. Her real name was Mei Jiaojiao, and she was a good friend of Hua’s.

”You got a spare key?” Qian asked.

”No...”

”Go get an axe.”

”Huh?”

”An axe. Don’t make me say it twice.”

Mei Jiaojiao quickly nudged Hua’s man, and soon enough an axe was brought over. Qian took it in her hand and knocked on the door with her knuckles first.

”Liu Xiaohua, it’s Chen Xiaoqian. Open the door.”

The sobbing inside abruptly stopped, followed by Hua’s shrill voice.

”Chen Xiaoqian! What the hell are you doing here!”

”Here to watch the show. Open up, or I’m breaking the door down.”

”I’m not opening it! Get out! Get the hell out right now!”

Before Hua’s voice even fell, there was a loud bang at the door—Qian had actually swung the axe at it!

The two people behind her were stunned; who’d have thought the frail-looking Qian could be this destructive!

”What are you doing!” Hua’s man cried out, heart aching as he watched a chunk split off his solid wood door.

”If you still give a damn about Liu Xiaohua at all, shut up. Otherwise I’ll chop you along with the door.”

Qian said coolly. Hua’s man had already seen how vicious this woman could be; he unconsciously backed up two steps.

Inside, Hua was scared stiff by the sound of the axe hitting the door. She finally couldn’t hold back and came to open it, her eyes swollen like walnuts.

”Chen Xiaoqian, you happy now? My patient’s gone wrong under my watch; isn’t this exactly what you wanted? You wanted to see me fall on my face, didn’t you? Are you satisfied now?”

Hua’s voice was hoarse, but Qian’s attention was on the slap marks on Liu Xiaohua’s face.

”Who hit you? The patient’s family?”

”I—I hit her. We had a bit of a fight earlier and I lost my temper, I just slapped her once—ah!” Hua’s man hadn’t finished his sentence when he saw a flash of cold light coming straight for his face. He dodged sideways in a panic, and Qian’s axe smashed into the wall right next to his head. He could literally smell the rust on the iron blade!

”Are you insane!” Hua’s man’s legs were shaking with terror; Hua herself forgot to cry.

”You picking on her because she’s all alone out here and you think she’s got no family backing her up? You fucking dare hit a woman? I should just chop you to death!”

Qian raised the axe and went for him. Hua’s man, this big tall guy, was so scared he bolted all the way into the guest room and slammed the door, too afraid to come out.

Qian kept at it, kicking the door. ”You scumbag in there, listen up. If you two can keep going, fine; if you can’t, then break up. But don’t you fucking hit her. If I ever see you lay a hand on her again, I’ll beat you till your own mother doesn’t recognize you. Don’t believe me, try it! My man’s trained, he can split bricks with his hands and kick through wooden stakes. Every time we see you, we’ll beat you. Got that?”

Silence inside; he was probably scared shitless.

How could he not be? Someone swings an axe the second they disagree—any normal person would be traumatized, okay!

”Don’t you fucking play dead on me. Talk!” Qian kicked the door twice more. The man inside said weakly,

”This was the first time, really the first time, I won’t hit her again.”

”Bullshit! Just you wait!” Qian spat, then pulled out her phone and called Liumei.

”Meizi, you with Qiuqiu? Good, you two grab your gear and get over here. The address is...”

The two women on the side were dumbfounded. Seeing Qian making calls to bring people over, Hua hurried over and tugged at Qian’s sleeve. ”Chen Xiaoqian, what are you doing...”

”You spineless piece of crap, shut up! You haven’t embarrassed our teacher enough already?! I’m cleaning house on his behalf right now, so you shut your mouth!”

That big-sister aura of hers crushed Hua so hard she didn’t dare say another word. Mei Jiaojiao swallowed nervously.

She’d long heard about how hardcore ”Street Qian” was, and seeing her today, it really lived up to the hype—chasing a guy that tall around with an axe.

Qian jabbed a finger at Mei Jiaojiao, full of swagger. ”You go back. I’ll handle things here. And once you’re back, keep your mouth shut. Don’t let the big boss find out, or else—”

Mei Jiaojiao nodded frantically.

Qian shoved Hua, dragged her into the bedroom, shut the door, then sprawled on the bed, one leg crossed over the other, exuding full-on gangster vibes.

Hua stood there awkwardly, feeling like Qian had seen right through her at her most pathetic. She was clearly fragile, yet her feelings were a tangled mess, because that line Qian had thrown at her boyfriend—about bullying her for having no family backing—had hit her straight in the heart.

She really wanted to cry...

Hua’s man was genuinely afraid of getting beaten; he climbed out the window and ran. It was only the second floor, he wouldn’t die from the fall. But from then on he really didn’t dare lay a hand on Hua again. He sprained his ankle jumping from the second floor and limped for a week. Qian’s viciousness left a lifelong impression on him; afterwards, whenever he saw Qian, he took a detour.

”You’re pathetic enough to die like this! Weren’t you real capable, always talking shit about me behind my back? Look at you now, cowering like some third-rate lackey. Your patient has an accident and all you know how to do is cry. Your scumbag man hits you and you don’t even fight back. And you’ve got the nerve to call yourself the big boss’s disciple?”
