Chapter 187: Chapter 187: The Incompetent Quack Misleads the Young

“Tao Ti, I am the tutor your second brother hired for you, and for the next month, I will be enlightening you.”

This was the line Qin Xin had agreed upon in order to get close to Little Taotie under the guise of a tutor, to slowly understand and thus determine if there were any psychological issues due to abuse during her early childhood.

Tao Ti hung her head, thinking of the gentle Grandma Fensi who taught her studies very well.

She didn’t really want to change teachers, but still…

Hua Jinyan asked, “Can I study with you? I will ask my dad to pay you a tutoring fee.”

One job, double the pay! Who could refuse such a deal? The man nodded with a smile and introduced himself, “I am mixed French and Chinese. My father is Chinese, and my parents divorced when I was very young. I’ve always lived in Hua Country, and I am a Hua Country citizen. My name is Liu Aiguo.”

Hua Jinyan said, “…” What a great name!

Guodong muttered to Qin Xin, “His parents divorced, and he seems quite happy about it. Does he really need to tell the kids that? This tutor is quite forward!”

Qin Xin replied helplessly, “When I first met him, he almost wanted to introduce me to his ancestors going back eighteen generations.”

Guodong laughed, “Then he’s being restrained today.”

…

During the afternoon class, Liu Aiguo took out some paper and pencils, along with a big box of watercolor pens, and asked them to draw.

Hua Jinyan didn’t touch the watercolor pens but instead started drawing with a black pencil on paper.

Little Taotie had never learned to draw, following Hua Jinyan, she picked up a pencil and began to draw on paper, not knowing what to paint. She thought of the Flower of the Other Shore she had seen in her dream last night, so she wanted to draw a Flower of the Other Shore.

She wanted to draw the curved petals of the Flower of the Other Shore, the spherical-like shape, and the stretching stems…

In Liu Anguo’s eyes, the little girl was scribbling aimlessly, making random circles, as if drawing a ball of yarn or trying to darken the whole paper.

Liu Aiguo frowned more and more, sighing in his heart: This child has a deep childhood shadow, and it’s even showing up in her drawings.

Little Taotie wanted to draw many beautiful Flowers of the Other Shore, thus ended up filling the entire paper.

She looked at the messily drawn paper and fell into deep thought.

Why do my Flowers of the Other Shore look like this?

I was very serious about drawing, exactly as I remembered!

No! I must redraw it!

Little Taotie took a new sheet of paper and started drawing earnestly.

In Liu Aiguo’s view, the little girl had plunged into endless darkness, beginning to uncontrolledly vent, continuously darkening the white paper, and she was seriously ill!

Liu Aiguo gently held Little Taotie’s hand, shaking his head, “Stop drawing, let’s take a rest. Come out of your negative emotions. Here, let me play some happy music for you, and we can hum along with the music.”

Little Taotie looked at him blankly, tilting her head in confusion.

Hua Jinyan, who had just finished drawing a white little beast, also looked befuddled, staring at Liu Aiguo.

Liu Aiguo felt that the most festive and joyful music could only be the kind that makes people start dancing the rice planters’ dance.

Then, the two children were forced to listen to a round of “Good Luck Comes!”

“Quick, hum along!” Liu Aiguo led the singing, “Good luck comes wishing you good luck~! Good luck brings joy and love~! Good luck comes~ our good luck comes~~~”

Guodong, peeking from behind the door crack, was stunned for a moment and nearly burst out laughing, whispering, “This idiot, is he really your friend?”

Qin Xin covered his ears.

Such a simple tune, and yet not a single line was on pitch!

Little Taotie and Hua Jinyan were forced to hum along, both pairs of eyes equally bewildered, filled with question marks in their depths.

It was as if they were asking: Who am I? Where am I? Weren’t we supposed to learn painting? Why has it turned into learning singing? Can this teacher really teach us singing when he sings so terribly?

The reminder bell rang, and Liu Aiguo had mentioned before that they could take a twenty-minute break when the bell rang.

Little Taotie and Hua Jinyan looked at each other, seeing “relief” in each other’s eyes.

Pretending to go to the restroom, Liu Aiguo joined Guodong and Qin Xin in a small room, sighing deeply, “Little Taotie is seriously ill!”
