The Lovely Heiress Is Actually A God Beast

Chapter 161: Chapter 161: The Most Beautiful Story Chapter 161: Chapter 161: The Most Beautiful Story Tao Ti was held in Liu Mingzhu’s arms, able to smell the faint scent of flowers on her, which was very pleasant. She gently closed her eyes, listening to Liu Mingzhu’s tender voice.

Liu Mingzhu was telling the fairy tale of The Ugly Duckling.

“One by one, the eggs cracked open… Only one egg still lay there, motionless…”

Little Taotie opened her eyes, curiosity surging, and tilted her head to ask, “Did the duckling suffocate inside the egg?”

Liu Mingzhu gently stroked her little face, shook her head, and continued in a soft, slow tone, “The last one to crawl out of the eggshell was the Ugly Duckling, big and ugly, pecked at and ostracized everywhere, laughed at, not just among ducks, but even among chickens…”

Little Taotie covered her little heart, feeling distressed, and her little face wrinkled.

She remembered being unloved by her parents and disliked by everyone in the village…

She felt just like the poor Ugly Duckling.

“The duck mother wished it would go away, the ducklings pecked it, the chicks beat it, and the maid who fed the ducks and chickens kicked it with her foot, so it had no choice but to close its eyes sadly and flee…”

Little Taotie unconsciously gripped Liu Mingzhu’s hand, anxiously asking, “It was driven away, will it starve to death?”

Liu Mingzhu grasped her hand back, as if to give her all the warmth and strength, “One evening at twilight, a flock of beautiful swans flew out from the bushes. The Ugly Duckling had never seen such beautiful birds before. Watching them fly away, it felt both bewildered and envious…”

Little Taotie thought of what swans looked like, nodded her head in agreement with the Ugly Duckling’s thoughts, and said in a babyish voice, “Swans are also the most beautiful birds I’ve ever seen, white and with long necks, much prettier than the big white geese in the mountains, although they are all very white.”

“Do you like swans a lot?”

“I do!”

“Then this story won’t disappoint you.”

“Really? Will the Ugly Duckling finally be happy, not starve to death?”

“No, keep listening, you’ll like it.”

Little Taotie obediently nodded her head, tilted her little head, and leaned in Liu Mingzhu’s arms, yawning lightly, but still trying hard to stay awake to listen to the rest of the story.

“…the farmer’s wife hit it with a pair of tongs. Out of fear, it flapped its wings and actually flew up!”

“Eh?” Little Taotie’s eyes brightened, filled with surprise, “Can the duckling fly?”

“Ordinary ducklings certainly can’t, but the Ugly Duckling is no ordinary duckling.”

“Wow! That’s wonderful, it’s Superman Duckling!”

Liu Mingzhu chuckled softly and continued, “It flew into a big garden and again met beautiful swans. It feared being driven away, but still gathered the courage and flew into the water, swimming towards the beautiful flock of swans.”

“…It lowered its head and saw its reflection, no longer a clumsy, dark gray, ugly, and detestable duck, but a—swan!”

“Wow!” Little Taotie gasped in amazement, her eyes shining brightly with excitement as she clapped her hands, “So it wasn’t the Ugly Duckling, it was a swan, the most beautiful swan!”

“Many swans swam around it, kissing it with their beaks, and everyone said it was the youngest, most beautiful swan. The Ugly Duckling felt both embarrassed and happy.”

“From its heart, it let out a joyful sound: ‘When I was the Ugly Duckling, I never dreamed I could have so much happiness!’”

Little Taotie giggled, extremely happy, excitedly saying, “I like this story! This is the best story I’ve ever heard, and it’s my favorite story now!”

“Good baby, the story is over, close your eyes and go to sleep.”

Little Taotie cuddled in her arms, quietly asked, “Can I hear the Ugly Duckling become a swan story again tomorrow?”

“Sure, if you want to hear it, I can tell it to you every night.”

With a smile, Little Taotie drifted into dreamland.

Liu Mingzhu gently stroked her hair and quietly whispered, “My little Taotie is also a swan who wandered into a flock of ducks, but it’s okay. The swan has returned to Swan Lake and will never be cold or hungry again and will become the happiest Little Princess.”
