Chapter 172: Chapter 172: Mistakenly Believed to Have Been Sold

The twin brother looked at Little Taotie in surprise as she dodged away, and before he could ask, the twin sister became emotionally agitated, yelling, “You don’t want to care for us?”

“Sister!”

“Brother, don’t stop me!” The twin sister charged forward, getting in Little Taotie’s face and bellowed angrily, “You have good food and a good place to live, and you don’t care whether we live or die! I’ve seen Grandpa give you a chicken leg to eat more than once! It’s because of you that Grandpa died!”

Little Taotie lifted her head, her small face pale as paper.

Seeing that she was unwell, the twin sister felt a sense of satisfaction and continued to speak rudely, “It was because of you that Grandpa fell, it was because of you that he died! It was also because of you that Mom and Dad went to jail! You’re like an evil spirit, a Broom Star! Wherever you go, you bring harm, and everyone around you suffers because of it!”

“Enough, stop talking!” The twin brother covered his eyes, not daring to see the fiery gazes from the three people who had come with Tao Ti.

Now, he was also discouraged, knowing that even if Tao Ti softened and took them with her, those three would definitely not agree, especially with his sister’s domineering character, there was no way anyone would be willing to take her.

During the time he lived with that family, he had matured quite a bit, and through their conflicts, he had come to understand one thing: people are selfish!

“Sister, don’t be angry. Sister, take me with you. I’m a boy, and when I grow up, I can do physical work. They all say you’re a star now, you must need an assistant or bodyguard by your side. Take me with you, train me, and I’ll be your bodyguard!”

Upon hearing this, Qin Xin’s brows lifted slightly beside him. This little guy was only five years old, but he was quite scheming, it seemed he was ready to abandon his own sister.

“Brother, what are you saying? Why should you become her servant? She should be the one taking care of us, she should be the one atoning for her sins, she’s the one who caused Grandpa’s death, she’s the one who brought calamity on Mom and Dad—”

“Shut up!” A man’s low, intimidating voice suddenly broke out.

Everyone turned toward the entrance and saw a dusty Tao Tiancheng who had rushed over.

“Dad, why have you come?” Tao Shen walked over but was shoved away by Tao Tiancheng, who scolded him angrily, “Others are bullying your sister like this, and you just stand by watching? Get out of my sight, you unfilial son!”

Tao Shen: “…”

He had only wanted his sister to make a choice, after all, it was their grandfather’s last wish.

Tao Tiancheng took a few steps to Little Taotie’s side, and with a gloomy look, hid the bewildered Little Taotie behind him, his gaze locking onto the twins.

“She is my daughter, and has nothing to do with you two. Why should she bear the responsibility to take care of you? Your grandfather was pushed by your mother, it was your mother who killed him! Your parents committed a crime, and they were sentenced by the state, what does it have to do with my daughter!”

“Your daughter?” the twin sister exclaimed in surprise, covering her mouth, her voice still leaking out, “No way, did Mom really sell her? Mom always wanted to sell her for money to buy me a pretty dress, but pity she was too frail, no one in the village wanted her, and she’s not a boy! Uncle, why did you buy her? Buy me and my brother, we’re much more useful than she is!”

Little Taotie looked at the tall figure in front of her, hearing her sister’s muttering, she also remembered how her mother had spoken more than once of selling her, to be taken to the city, have her legs broken, and beg like a little beggar…

She knew her mother didn’t like her, but she had never thought that her mother would actually sell her!

Little Taotie turned and ran, throwing herself into Cheng Guodong’s arms, sobbing softly, “Big brother, I don’t want to go with the bad guys, I don’t want to call the bad guy ‘Dad’! Xiao Lingzhi said before, that those who kidnap children, everyone involved in the buying and selling, they are all bad guys!”
