The Lovely Heiress Is Actually A God Beast

Chapter 138: Chapter 138 Trouble Comes Knocking

In the hospital, Little Taotie and Hua Jinyan were whispering continuously. Little Taotie, “You’re right, there really are a lot of Spiritual Bodies here.”

Hua Jinyan tightened his prayer beads once more and said quietly, “Stop looking around. They are neither Evil Spirits nor vengeful spirits, so they can’t become your little snacks.”

“I’m just looking, I won’t do anything to them. Look, that sister over there is so pretty!”

Hua Jinyan glanced over, then quickly looked down and pretended to see nothing, saying in a hushed voice, “These are all newly deceased Spiritual Bodies, queuing up for reincarnation. They only make a brief stop at the hospital. Don’t let them think we can see them, or they will come to us, and it’ll be troublesome.”

“Troublesome?” Little Taotie didn’t understand.

Before Hua Jinyan could reply, that pretty sister floated over, asking excitedly, “Little kid, can you see me?”

Little Taotie: “…”

Hua Jinyan sighed, frustrated, “I told you to keep it down. See, trouble has come.”

Little Taotie tilted her head and looked at the pretty sister in confusion, not understanding what sort of trouble she could cause.

“Can you help me tell the police that I didn’t commit suicide? They’ve got it wrong! The case can’t close like this!”

Little Taotie, still clueless, watched the agitated pretty sister, beginning to grasp what Hua Jinyan meant by “trouble has come.”

Hua Jinyan covered his forehead with his hand, sighing.

The pretty sister, as if determined to achieve her goal, kept following Little Taotie and Hua Jinyan, incessantly muttering to herself.

By the time Little Taotie finished the full checkup, the sister’s continuous muttering hadn’t stopped, “Please, I can’t just die for no reason. It was clearly someone who sneaked into my room and harmed me! I didn’t commit suicide, I was about to debut, how could I possibly have killed myself!”

Hua Jinyan didn’t agree with helping her.

Going to the police and saying out of the blue that this person didn’t commit suicide but was murdered, what would he say if the police asked how he knew? How should he respond?

Besides, they were both just kids. Running up and saying such things would only be taken as children causing trouble.

Little Taotie and Hua Jinyan, each with one hand held by Tian Leran, were ready to leave the hospital, but the pretty sister wanted to follow and was blocked by the hospital’s invisible barrier.

She cried in despair, tears streaming down like rain from pear blossoms, pitiful yet moving.

Little Taotie felt a pang of sympathy, saying softly, “She’s crying so pitifully.”

Hua Jinyan lowered his eyelids and covered Little Taotie’s eyes with his hand, “Don’t look.”

Tian Leran didn’t know what the two kids were muttering about, but felt their affection for each other was very strong. With joy and kindness, she said, “Both of your checkup reports came out excellent, I’m relieved your health is good. But let’s not eat those things for now. Wait until Grandma asks some experts in Mysticism recognized by my old sisters, just to make sure it won’t harm you and will only do you good, then you can eat, okay?”

Little Taotie licked her lips, craving, whispered softly, “But… chocolate and Candy really taste so good.”

“Grandma will take you to the mall to buy Chocolate and Candy. Eat the bought Chocolate and Candy to satisfy your craving first, alright?”

Little Taotie peeked at Hua Jinyan, and seeing he did not object, she reluctantly muffled her agreement, “Well… okay, then.”

The little girl sulked with a pout, looking sad and dejected.

Tian Leran loved her granddaugther more with every glance.

If it had been the other child before, even a slight displeasure would not have been bottled up, but would have immediately led to crying and shouting, throwing a tantrum until getting what she wanted.

No way she would have been like Little Taotie, reluctantly agreeing with a muffled voice despite being unwilling inside.

A child like this is one who knows how to endure and restrain, yet it also signifies that she hasn’t been spoiled and indulged in her upbringing.

Tian Leran felt even more pity for her granddaugther, the jewel that was meant to grow cherished in the palm of a hand but had mistakenly been switched, enduring much suffering at such a tender age.
