The Lovely Heiress Is Actually A God Beast

Chapter 135: Chapter 135: Once Close, Souls Scatter

Tian Leran received the wood carving, thinking that the little girl was just saying nice things to flatter her, and didn’t take it seriously.

She played with the small wood carving affectionately, unable to put it down. Although the little beast’s mouth wasn’t carved well, slightly skewed, it was exactly this crookedness that made it look like the beast was secretly smiling, exuding cuteness and spiritual energy.

The wood carving felt great in her hand. Tian Leran had a certain level of appraisal ability and immediately identified the material, “This is small-leaved red sandalwood!”

Tao Ti didn’t understand and just blinked blankly.

“Did you carve this by hand?” Tian Leran squatted down to meet Little Taotie’s gaze. The closer she looked, the more she liked the little girl. Those white and tender cheeks were so tempting to pinch, that tiny nose was so adorable, and those bright, watery eyes full of spiritual energy were too beautiful!

This was her dear sweet granddaughter!

She really wanted to pick her up and kiss those little cheeks!

But Tian Leran held back that impulse, her eyes filled with love, and her voice gentle, “Thank you, Little Taotie. Grandma really likes the gift you gave me. I’ll put it on my bedside table every night to accompany me to sleep. With it, I’m sure to have sweet dreams every night!”

Tao Ti’s eyes curved into a smile, looking at the flowers blossoming above her head, one after another competing for beauty. She believed what Grandpa Fensi had said; this grandma truly liked her and was a hardcore fan!

Knowing that Grandma Fensi liked her, Little Taotie was excited as if she had been injected with chicken blood. Her radiant and sweet smile surfaced, her voice ringing with confidence, “Grandma Fensi, I’m going to catch the Evil Spirit right now and eat it up! You don’t have to be scared!”

With that, the little girl turned around and dashed upstairs, running so fast that neither Tian Leran nor Tao Mo could stop her.

Hua Jinyan was the first to react and followed her upstairs. Then Cheng Guodong, Qin Xin, and Tao Shen chased up after her.

Tian Leran was still in a daze, blankly looking at her husband, “Old man, what did our sweet granddaughter just say? I don’t understand at all. Am I going senile?”

“You might not believe it if I told you, but from what I’ve heard, not only can she see soul bodies, but she can also distinguish between good and evil, and eat up… the Evil Spirits,” Tao Mo paused, struggling to speak: “Eat them.”

“Eat them?”

Tian Leran was completely taken aback, her eyes wide open with disapproval, “Can that stuff be eaten? Don’t let her eat something wrong! No, I have to stop her!”

“Hey, slow down a bit, will you?!” Throwing aside his walking stick as if it were nothing, Tao Mo set off at a run, chasing after his wife who was already pounding up the stairs.

The maid Evil Spirit trembled with fear.

She hadn’t been dead for long, and her soul body was still conscious because of the many evils she committed in life, coupled with her violent death. She couldn’t be reincarnated and could only wander the human world as a lonely wild ghost.

Her brother and sister-in-law, as well as those criminals involved in the trafficking, had also turned into lonely wild ghosts.

Powered by her evil thoughts, she took advantage of those spirits before they could recover and devoured them.

This, in turn, strengthened her own power. She returned to the Tao Family and, upon discovering that they had sent her niece away, was consumed with rage and began to haunt the mistress of the house, Liu Mingzhu.

She always lingered around Liu Mingzhu. Whenever Liu Mingzhu had the slightest thought of bringing that child back, she would intervene, and even repeatedly tempted her to bring back her niece and treat her as her own daughter.

Today, a turn of events finally occurred as she did not expect the niece to be sent back to the country.

She plotted to tempt Liu Mingzhu to visit the orphanage. Initially, she hadn’t noticed anything unusual downstairs until she smelled an enticing fragrance— the scent of countless faiths and merits.

If she could just eat that boy, she would gain boundless power.

It was not until she saw the Rainbow Relic that she realized why she hadn’t smelled that fragrance before—it was blocked by the Rainbow Relic.

She feared the Rainbow Relic; it was a Buddhist holy object.

As an Evil Spirit, getting too close might cause her soul to scatter into oblivion.
