The Lovely Heiress Is Actually A God Beast

Chapter 98: Chapter 98 The Jade Pendant Passed Down Through Daughters, Not Sons

Cheng Guodong was shocked beyond measure; this piece of mutton-fat white jade must be worth at least a million, right?

But compared to that unlimited Black Card, it seemed rather insignificant!

How generous this gesture was!

Cheng Guodong hurriedly snatched the red envelope, attempting to take the jade pendant, but found that his sister was clutching it tightly and wouldn’t let go.

Cheng Guodong forced a smile, “This item is too valuable; we can’t accept it, as we’re neither kin nor kith. If you like it, big brother will buy an even better one for you! Come on, let’s give it all back to him!”

“I don’t want to!” Tao Ti turned away, tucking the jade pendant into her bosom and shaking her head fiercely, “I just like this one, I don’t like anything else, no matter how good, I won’t like it!”

...

Cheng Guodong grew anxious; he had always thought it was good for his sister to be pampered and willful, but now he didn’t!

How wonderful his sister used to be, both obedient and adorable!

Why wouldn’t she listen to him now?

Cheng Guodong tried to persuade her gently, “Come on, give it to me, we can’t keep this, okay? Even if we can’t find one exactly the same, big brother will go and mine raw stones, buy the best materials, and commission the finest sculptor to make one for you, I promise it will be good!”

“I want this one!” Tao Ti still refused to let go.

She could feel a mysterious connection with the jade pendant, as if letting go of it would mean losing something very important; no other jade pendant could replace it, even if it looked exactly the same, it would still be different!

Cheng Guodong: “…”

Observing his sister’s stubborn demeanor, he felt somewhat helpless and let out a sigh.

Tao Ti sneakily glanced at him; noticing that sighing seemed to have an effect, she put on a very troubled, sorrowful face to gain sympathy.

If it were any other matter, the sensible Tao Ti might have given in.

Tao Ti looked at the jade pendant in her hand and then into the eyes of the Little Beast Bai Bai, and it seemed a voice was being recalled in her ears: “These eyes were not easy to carve; I spent a long time and ruined quite a bit of jade stone. I carved this myself, as a birthday gift for your first year with me.”

That voice was War God’s.

Yes, she remembered now; it was personally carved by War God.

She clutched the jade pendant tightly, closed her eyes, and tried to recollect more memories, but couldn’t think of anything else.

Seeing her eyes shut tight, evidently not willing to hand it over, Cheng Guodong sighed deeply.

Cheng Guodong looked at the old man and threw the Black Card back to him, asking rather irritably, “How much for the jade pendant? I’ll pay ten times the price!”

Tao Mo, seeing his granddaughter’s love for this jade pendant, was overjoyed and waved his hand, “No need for money, it’s a gift for Little Taotie, and it has nothing to do with you.”

“What exactly is your purpose?” Cheng Guodong didn’t believe in such generous gestures without reason.

Tao Mo looked deeply at Cheng Guodong, but the words that reached his mouth, in the end, remained unsaid.

“The Black Card is also for Little Taotie.” He crouched down, handed the Black Card to Tao Ti, and said affectionately, “Buy whatever you like with this card; there are no restrictions, you can purchase anything.”

Tao Ti blinked, looked at the jade pendant in her hand, and then at Cheng Guodong’s scowling face.

Having already accepted the jade pendant made her feel embarrassed; it even caused her big brother to get angry, so she couldn’t accept anything else.

Tao Ti shook her head, “The jade pendant is enough, thank you, Grandpa.”

Hearing that call of ‘Grandpa,’ Tao Mo was so moved he was on the verge of tears.

He knew that this ‘Grandpa’ was merely a form of address for an old man, yet he was already thrilled.

He wondered when his granddaughter would sincerely call him ‘Grandpa,’ as her true grandfather.
