The Lovely Heiress Is Actually A God Beast

Chapter 57: Chapter 57 Frustrated and Depressed Tao Shen

Lin Zhi leaned into Tao Ti’s ear and whispered quietly, “Look over there, someone is watching us with a strange look in their eyes!”

Tao Ti blinked and looked over with confusion.

Tao Shen and his sister exchanged looks, their hearts bursting with joy!

Tao Shen took a few quick steps forward, and Lin Zhi immediately pulled Tao Ti back, shouting, “There’s a kidnapper!”

Tao Shen: “…”

Tao Ti looked utterly puzzled, completely unaware of what was happening.

...

The crowd gathered around, and Cheng Guodong stepped in front of Tao Ti, looking at Tao Shen with guarded eyes and demanded, “This is a filming area, unrelated individuals are not allowed in.”

The scriptwriter came forward to smooth things over, “This is my friend’s son, he came to learn a bit. He wants to be a director in the future, so I let him come over to observe.”

“To observe?” Cheng Guodong’s face grew cold as he covered Tao Ti with his jacket, “You did not discuss this with us, who do you think you are?”

Orange and Lin Zhi’s agent were also somewhat displeased at this moment, glaring at the scriptwriter in unison.

This scriptwriter was not from the crew of “Finding the Leading Lady”, but someone brought in to shoot a short video; being called a scriptwriter was just a courtesy title–in reality, he was just a not-so-famous freelance cinematographer.

The scriptwriter’s face turned red, and at the same time, he received a call from the program’s scriptwriter, a warning call: “Don’t upset Chairman Cheng!”

The scriptwriter took a deep breath, feeling aggrieved inside but could only admit his error, indeed, he had not thought things through.

Tao Shen took a step forward, originally wanting to reveal his true purpose for coming, but ultimately held back.

He didn’t want to give his sister a bad impression at their first meeting. Instead, he said frankly, “It was impetuous of me to come here like this, I am deeply sorry. For this matter, let me take full responsibility, there’s no need for the scriptwriter to apologize on my behalf. As an apology, allow me to invite you all to a meal.”

He knew his sister liked Chinese food and said with a smile, “There’s a very nice Chinese restaurant nearby, rated five stars by world-class food magazines.”

Cheng Guodong’s face remained cold, “That’s my restaurant, no need for you to treat.”

In an instant, the atmosphere reached a freezing point.

Tao Ti looked at the young man in front of her, who looked so dejected, and strangely enough, she felt a bit sorry for him. She asked, “Is there any other good place to eat around here, do you really want to treat us?”

Hearing his sister talking to him, Tao Shen’s eyes instantly brightened, as if he had transformed from a dog that had lost its home into a happy Husky, his eyes sparkling like a sky full of stars.

Lin Zhi glanced at him and then at Tao Ti, murmuring softly, “His eyes do look similar, but Little Taotie’s eyes are blacker and shinier!”

Tao Shen quickly took out a notebook full of writing; it was the guide he had prepared before setting out, with every good restaurant within ten kilometers recorded, with online reviews and detailed notes taken.

“Little sister, what would you like to eat?” Tao Shen’s voice was soft and tentative, his eyes tenderly fixed on Tao Ti, filled with doting affection and warmth.

Cheng Guodong was not pleased, maintaining the distance between him and Tao Ti with a cold voice, “Little sister is what you call her? She is my little sister!”

Tao Shen really wanted to shout back: She is my real sister! You’re the outsider!

But he didn’t have the rights, not at that moment.

The light in Tao Shen’s eyes dimmed bit by bit, he clenched his fists, trying not to look too disheartened. He smiled, but unbeknownst to him, that smile seemed more like a bitter one.

“Little Taotie, may I call you that? I saw on the program, everyone calls you that,” he said.

Tao Ti looked into his eyes, the corners red as if he was immensely wronged, like he wanted to cry but was holding back the tears.

Tao Ti, afraid that a refusal would make him burst into tears, nodded generously, “Sure!”
