The Lovely Heiress Is Actually A God Beast

Chapter 88: Chapter 88: Breaking One Million Votes

Tao Bin once again looked at the voting numbers and wasn’t surprised, as the count was now at 150,002 votes. Tao Bin just felt it was to be expected.

Such a great short video, anyone with clear eyes would choose it!

If they didn’t pick it, it could only mean they had only watched the first two and hadn’t gotten to the rest of the videos yet.

“Integrating sci-fi and filled with meaning, this could be made into a big production movie, making a short video is just underselling it!” At some point, another person had arrived.

Everyone turned around and saw a middle-aged man, quite handsome with thick eyebrows, a high nose, and bright, spirited eyes.

“Who are you, and what are you doing here?” Bald asked, becoming alert, as this was their resting area and outsiders couldn’t simply walk in.

...

“Let me introduce myself, I’m Hua Jinyan’s father.” The man took off his sun hat, revealing a set of pearly white teeth, smiling amiably.

Uncle Comb studied the man closely and nodded, “You do resemble each other, but the younger disciple is better looking.”

Hua’s father wasn’t offended and laughed, “My wife is a Great Beauty, and Jinyan resembles her more.”

“Could you send me the link to that short video you just mentioned? I’d like to share it with a few friends.”

Tao Bin nodded, and while adding friends and sending links, he said, “You have to cast a vote for my sister!”

“Sure, don’t worry, anyone who sees this video will vote for it, and my old friends will certainly do the same!”

…

Netizens discovered something surprising—the short video was being shared and highly praised by many industry insiders!

Originally, “Finding the Leading Lady” was an online show and didn’t have much fame. The audience was small, so the increase in vote count was slow, with the most-voted video #3 stalling at around 200,000 votes.

It wasn’t because the video wasn’t popular, but because the number of people was limited, and everyone online had already cast their single vote.

Some even regretted, because after watching the second video, they impulsively cast their vote, making it impossible to vote for video #3 later, with no way to retract their vote.

The show’s creators initially thought the count was nearly done, estimating that it would stay around that number by early morning.

But suddenly, a surge of netizens entered, causing the voting system to jam temporarily. Although many votes were lost in the chaos, the number behind video #3 rapidly increased.

200,000, 300,000, 400,000…1,000,000!

The staff shouted excitedly: “Director, it’s over a million now, wow, our ratings are skyrocketing! And it’s still growing, with three hours to go until midnight!”

“My god! The show is going to explode!” the director exclaimed excitedly, downing two cups of milk tea, “I’m not dieting anymore, I’ll diet tomorrow! This is too thrilling!”

Seeing the portly director dancing on the spot, a staff member whimsically filmed it and posted it on the official website, with a caption: “The director’s excitement is soaring! Let the votes keep soaring!”

A netizen with a mischievous comment replied: [Let the votes keep soaring, let the director keep soaring!]

[The director is already joyfully soaring on the spot! Why do I feel like he has gotten fatter?]

[Hahaha, insider news, the director downed two large cups of full-sugar milk tea!]

[It cracks me up, I remember seeing the director tweet last week that he was going on a keto diet!]

Apart from “Finding the Leading Lady’s” portly director having his moment of fame, the director who shot video #3 had also become a sensation, thoroughly and completely!

In the industry, he was considered marginal, as short video directors often faced disdain, but now, a major director had sought him out, inviting him to co-direct a full-length film version of the short video. An investor had been found, and he didn’t need to worry about anything—just bring the original crew on board.

This was truly a meteoric rise, from an undistinguished short video director straight to the level of a major movie director!
