The Lovely Heiress Is Actually A God Beast

Chapter 69: Chapter 69 Aren’t You Afraid of Them?

Because both children could see ghosts, they seemed to have formed a bond that others couldn’t understand.

Hua Jinyan was a man of few words, very introverted, never the type to initiate conversation or to look for topics in common.

But today, Hua Jinyan was acting like a different person, sticking close to Tao Ti and constantly seeking conversation with her.

“When did you start seeing them?”

“Not long ago.” Tao Ti couldn’t remember the exact time.

“Aren’t you scared? They look very unsettling.”

...

Tao Ti shook her head, “They taste really good!”

“Taste?” Hua Jinyan was momentarily puzzled.

Tao Ti pointed in the direction of the little girl and whispered, “If the young lady is willing to give me her resentment, I can create a very pretty candy. The candy is colorful, as clear and shiny as crystals, very sweet and delicious, with different colors representing different flavors.”

She leaned closer to Hua Jinyan and murmured in his ear, “I suspect that the flavor of the candy is whatever they liked to eat when they were alive!”

The little girl’s proximity carried a sweet and fruity scent. Hua Jinyan couldn’t identify the fruit, but it was very fragrant.

He had never talked this close to anyone before, never had such a playful whispering interaction— it was fresh, special, and fun.

“When did you start seeing them?” Tao Ti asked curiously.

Hua Jinyan lowered his eyelids, his eyelashes long and thick, “A long time ago, ever since I was conscious.”

“Were you scared?”

“I was scared before, but later… I got used to it, and I stopped being scared.”

Tao Ti made a ‘big fierce tiger pouncing for food’ gesture, cute and soft, without any hint of menace, and said in a mock threatening tone, “You don’t need to be scared, they’re all scared of me. I’m a Fierce Beast that can eat them up!”

Hua Jinyan didn’t take her words seriously, just considering it as her way of comforting him, and slightly curled his lips into a smile.

“You don’t believe me?”

“It’s hard to believe, just like a long time ago, when I said I could see them, nearly no one believed me. Everyone thought I was crazy, a kid with a sick mind.”

“Humph! I’ll make you believe!”

Tao Ti rubbed her hands together eagerly, desperate to prove her prowess!

She trotted over to the little girl, trying to sweet-talk and pester, “Young lady, give me your resentment, please. I’m craving it, I want to taste the flavor of resentment…”

The little girl seemed to be exasperated with Tao Ti, turning her back on her with a dark and gloomy posture.

Tao Ti blinked, feeling a bit aggrieved.

A laugh sounded in her ear.

Tao Ti glared back, irritated. Hua Jinyan was chuckling to himself. It was his first time seeing a vengeful spirit so annoyed by a human that it wanted nothing to do with them.

“Young lady, if I eat the resentment, I can help you take revenge!”

“Young lady, please don’t ignore me!”

Tao Ti drooped her head, all her energy gone, while Luo Hanchen kept his gaze fixed on the direction Tao Ti was watching, his eyes reddening.

It took a good while for Tao Bin to recover from his shock. He looked at his sister, then at his junior brother, and finally at Luo Hanchen, who seemed on the verge of popping his eyes out of their sockets.

“What are you doing bringing my sister over here, Uncle-Master?”

Luo Hanchen seemed to have lost his hearing, completely ignoring Tao Bin.

Tao Bin felt helpless and ran out. His sister could also see ghosts – this was a serious matter, and he had to tell the master!

He was also worried whether those ghosts might harm his sister. He had heard that his junior brother had been hurt by a gathering of ghosts, forcing him to seek refuge in the temple.
