The Lovely Heiress Is Actually A God Beast

Chapter 96: Chapter 96 The Odd Little Old Man

“Who are you?” Cheng Guodong, being closer, reached out to support the staggered old man.

The old man caught his breath and his gaze was fixed on Little Taotie.

Tao Ti wasn’t frightened by his stare; on the contrary, she found him very kind, much like the way her own grandfather looked at her, very benevolent.

“My name is Tao Mo, I’m the founder of ‘Pocket Twisted Pretzels,’ and I…” Still, Tao Ti’s biological grandfather!

Tao Mo held back the excitement in his heart, firmly remembering the old lady’s instructions not to scare the child.

He found out that his granddaughter already had a grandfather whom she was very fond of, and it felt so sour in his heart, knowing that claiming to be her real grandfather would undoubtedly be rejected, so he planned to approach her gradually, letting the child slowly accept him.

...

“Yes, yes, yes, he’s the big boss,” the director stepped forward to introduce, “It was he who designated Tao Ti to be the spokesperson!”

“Hello, I’m Tao Ti’s agent, Cheng Guodong.” He extended his hand.

Tao Mo reached out to shake his hand, nodding internally: This young man is good, I heard that my little granddaughter saved her, and then to repay the life-saving grace, he helped the little granddaughter. A big shot in his own right, yet willing to condescend to protect and be the agent for the little granddaughter. Hmm, not bad at all!

“Do you have any other business? We’ve finished shooting the advertisement, and I still need to catch a flight with my sister.”

Upon hearing this, Tao Mo’s brows furrowed.

Catch a flight?

Is his little granddaughter so young, and she’s been given so many jobs?

Are they trying to make a money-making machine out of her?

He had thought this Cheng Guodong was alright, but hmph, what a joke!

“Let me see the advertisement first, don’t rush to leave,” Tao Mo said sternly, now with an unfriendly tone.

Feeling an immediate switch from friendliness to hostility from the other party, Cheng Guodong couldn’t understand what he had done to offend him. He silently criticized: What a strange old man!

The director played the advertisement for the old man to see.

Watching the advertisement, Tao Mo’s heart melted at the sight of the little girl with chubby cheeks, her little face red, muddling through the phrase “receive the red envelope.”

Tao Mo dug around in his pockets and finally found the red envelope he had prepared in advance.

He turned around and presented Little Taotie with a gentle and affectionate smile that was as warm as a spring breeze, stuffing the red envelope into her hand, “Here you go, Grandpa has a red envelope for you, take it.”

“This isn’t appropriate,” Cheng Guodong frowned.

Tao Mo looked up at Cheng Guodong, his smile gone, his brows furrowed into a scowl, and he snapped, “She did a good job, and as the boss, can’t I give her a little reward? What’s inappropriate about that!”

Cheng Guodong was left speechless, reflecting inwardly: Where exactly did I offend him? Wasn’t he quite friendly at the beginning?

Tao Ti, too embarrassed to take it, shook her head with her face turned red.

Tao Mo glared at Cheng Guodong, scolding, “It’s all your fault, look what you’ve done! You’ve frightened the child! Now she’s too scared to accept what she rightly deserves!”

Cheng Guodong: “…”

He wanted to cry but had no tears, massaged his temples, eager to get away from this quirky old man, figuring as soon as the sister accepted the red envelope, they could probably leave, so he could only persuade, “He’s the boss of Pocket Twisted Pretzels, the reward he’s giving is acceptable, it’s like the boss giving you a bonus.”

Tao Ti, making sense of what was said, nodded and accepted the red envelope.

But the red envelope she felt in her hands was not right; it wasn’t the smooth texture of money, but rather something irregularly shaped.

“What’s inside this?” Tao Ti tilted her head, looking at the old man with curiosity.

“Isn’t it money?” Cheng Guodong was surprised.
