Dragon Monarch System

Chapter 1036: Chapter 1036:- The Name That Meant Death

It had been less than a few minutes since the Harrington Faction, which was also known as the Ashen Covenant Faction, arrived at the Hall. The most important thing to know about this Faction was that it consisted of 10 Dukes.

Over many generations, the Harrington bloodline had forged family connections with these families. And historically, for more than 100,000 years, these ten noblehouse families remained under the Ashen Covenant Faction, and were from the start led by the Duke of the Harrington House. The Current Duke of the Harrington household was Malakor’s nephew, but the whole faction still remained under Harrington’s control and authority. The whole ten noble houses were so close that when Malakor made a decision for them, not even in their hearts was there any kind of dissatisfaction. It was a bond that was impossible to break. There were more chances of the Celestial Dragon Empire breaking into pieces than the Ashen Covenant Faction breaking up.

At the core, every household essentially carried some bit of the Harrington family’s blood. And every Harrington’s core identity was overprotectiveness towards family. This is what made their bond so strong.

”How dare they?”

Malakor Harrington still carried the burning anger from the day his grandson was exiled from the Main Continent. That anger had never faded, not even after all these years. It stayed inside him like a fire that refused to die. Back then, he was so furious at the Emperor, and even at his own daughter that he almost stormed the Palace to teach them a lesson. He had completely lost control of himself in that moment.

More than a thousand of his own men had to step in to stop him. His children, his family members, his subordinates, even his servants, all of them stood in his way, holding him back with everything they had. It wasn’t just persuasion and pleading to make chaos stop from wreaking havoc.

It took the physical strength of everyone desperately clinging to his body. Because if they had failed...

Harrington was so crazy that he would not hesitate to charge the Imperial Palace and face the entire army of the Celestial Dragon Empire alone. He would not care. He would not feel any fear as he had the heart of a true, mighty Dragon.

He would have turned the Imperial Palace into a battlefield.

How dare the Emperor exile his one and only beloved grandson?

That’s the only line Harrington kept roaring that whole day like a wounded beast.

This wasn’t just something he said out loud. This single sentence had consumed his entire being. That single thought was enough to push him to the edge.

Harrington had given his all in the absence of his wife to raise his daughter. Never did he think in a million years that his own blood could abandon her own child. That day, Harrington declared his daughter a disgrace of the entire Harrington bloodline.

Since that day, the relationship between the Royal Family and the Harrington House has been forever severed. Harrington was so mad and angry at his own blood that he did not go to see her once.

Because if he did, he knew his heart, that he would not be able to control his raging anger and raise his hand on his beloved child.

For the sake of his grandson, he would not hesitate to go to war against the Emperor even now. It did not matter if it was a losing war. It did not matter how many enemies stood in his way or what the outcome would be.

He would still choose to fight.

He would rather die on the battlefield while tearing through his enemies with his own hands than stand quietly and watch his grandson being threatened by bastards who would not even dare to look him in the eye.

Even if it was the Emperor himself threatening to kill his grandson, Malakor Harrington would not hesitate for a microsecond. He would kill the Emperor. And it would not be just a painless instant death. It would be a death so violent and horrifying that it would strike fear into the toughest men in the world.

And here was no doubt in his mind.

No hesitation.

No second thoughts.

Fuck the Empire.

What was an empire worth when his own blood was in danger? Who cared about the throne, about power, about rules, when the youngest member of the Harrington bloodline was being threatened? Aditya was not just anyone; he was the youngest to carry their blood, the future of their lineage.

Aditya was the youngest to carry the Harrington blood. He wasn’t even his direct descendant... but to Harrington, that never made any difference.

To him, blood was blood. That was enough.

From the very beginning, Harrington had treated Aditya like his own flesh and blood. There was no distance between them. There was never hesitation in his care towards Aditya. There was no difference in the way he looked at him.

In his eyes, Aditya was not just a member of the family. He was his most precious and beloved grandson.

And that was something no one in this world could take away from him.

The old man was still carrying the flames of the past, and those flames had only grown stronger with time. The moment he found his grandson, there was no way he would let anyone take him away again.

And he would never—never—allow anyone to stand in front of him and threaten to kill his grandson.

Not while he was still breathing.

”If Boris were here... I would have demanded an explanation.” Harrington never cared about Boris’s status as the Emperor.

His cold gaze swept across everyone present. Just his gaze alone put serious pressure on everyone. Most Dukes here weren’t from Harrington’s generation. But they grew up hearing the crazy things this lunatic did in his youth and old age. From a young age, those Dukes feared Harrington, and that fear remained even after Harrington was no longer active.

How can the newer generation of Dukes not feel any fear towards Harrington when they saw their fathers trembling in fear at the very mention of Malakor?

Even the very name Malakor began to have the meaning God of Death because of him.

The God of Death.

Wherever Malakor went, death followed. The moment his name was spoken, people would remember what he had done, what he was capable of, and what would happen if he ever turned his attention toward them.

And for many, hearing ”Malakor” was no different than hearing that death itself was coming.

At Malakor’s words, no one present in the hall dared to look him in the eye.

Malakor looked at some crowds and snorted. Even if he had become inactive, he still made sure to hear everything that happened within this Empire.

Malakor and the group of Dukes that were from his faction followed him to the centre of the Hall, where Duke Cassian stood alone.

In the coffin, Malakor saw the corpse of Nico William, placed on a bed of red rose petals.

Malakor felt sorry for his loss, but right now, he wasn’t in the mood to comfort anyone. He was so pissed that he felt he might explode with anger at any point. Instead, Malakor turned around and faced everyone.

For a few minutes, no one said anything. But slowly but surely, the stance of the Nobles began to change.

Today, almost every Duke of the Empire had arrived. There were other lower-ranking nobles present in the Hall. But when Malakor and Sophia arrived, those figures silently left the hall, knowing that they did not belong there. Only a few lower-ranking nobles remained.

Within just 10 minutes, Malakor had changed the decisions of many nobles. Since the beginning, the Ashen Covenant Faction has stood opposing Emperor Ren. In fact, the moment Aditya was exiled, silently, the whole Faction began opposing Aditya’s father.

And today, with Harrington’s declaration of war, he just made things official. With or without Aditya returning to the Celestial Dragon Empire, many felt that a civil war was impossible to avoid.

As Malakor stood facing everyone, a few Dukes put their palms over their hearts and gently bowed their heads, which was a sign of their allegiance in this cause.

Some Dukes started slowly shifting their positions by moving towards the members of the Ashen Covenant Faction.

This included Duke Ferdinand.

Noticing this, others who were a strong and core part of the Thronebound Faction slowly moved and stood together, showing their stance with the Emperor.

This included the Night Rider Sect.

At the end, a large majority was still left in the middle. This showed that these Dukes were still uncertain which sides to pick. Among them, there were also many who wanted to remain neutral and felt that it wasn’t worth choosing a side and going to war over. Some felt that the Emperor’s side still looked strong, but had a strong dislike for the Emperor; these Dukes also remained in the middle.

Although no one declared their stance like the Ashen Covenant Faction, their physical positioning said everything that one needed to know.

Just then, another party made their entrance. ”It seems... we arrived at an interesting time.”

Really, thank you very much to all those who sent support with valuable golden tickets and gifts. I hope we can keep it up!!!

To be honest, as an author myself, I am already a big fan of Malakor Harrington.

To those who are tired of this funeral arc, it will have another two or three Chapters. The most interesting and enteraining part of this mini arc is just about to come.
