Chapter 1032: Chapter 1032:- Dark Clouds over William Family

Ashvale City,

Ashvale City serves as the capital of the William Dukedom, home to the William noble household.

William Dukedom was the 101st Dukedom of the Massive Celestial Dragon Empire. The William family was one of the most influential and powerful noble houses within the Empire.

Today was a special day in the Capital of the William Dukedom. It was called Special, not because it was a joyous occasion. Rather, it was the opposite.

Something that was impossible to even think of for the People of this Dukedom had happened today. The news was so unbelievable that it caused an uproar in the entire City. It took hours for this uproar to calm down.

And when it did, all that remained was sadness and gloom all over the William Dukedom.

The whole of Ashvale City had a population of almost 5 million people. Yet the City that was always noisy and alive felt hollow and depressed.

There was no noise in the City.

The bustling markets of the City, despite being open, barely had any customers.

The soldiers patrolling the street and standing on the City wall looked distracted and sad.

The roads felt emptier than usual.

Even the sky itself was dark and gloomy, like a massive storm was about to come.

It was as if Ashvale itself was mourning the death of this person.

The place that felt the most depressed was the Palace of the William Household. Despite the gloom and sadness, the entire Palace was filled with people. Every few minutes, multiple luxurious carriages stopped at the entrance of the Palace.

Every important figure of the Celestial Dragon Empire had gathered in one place. This included powerful nobles, high-ranking military officials, and even Sect Leaders from both within the empire and outside of it. All of them had come together and were now present in the palace of the William Family.

The William Family was one of the most influential and powerful noble families in the entire Celestial Dragon Empire. Their reputation was not something that was built overnight. The William Noble Household had a long and deep history that stretched back more than 10,000 years, making them one of the oldest and most respected families in the empire.

Because of this long history, their influence could be felt in many parts of the empire, both politically and militarily. Over the years, they had built strong ties with many important figures and forces.

The William Household was also very close to Emperor Boris. In fact, Emperor Boris personally trained the previous head of the William Family, which showed the level of trust and respect between them.

Before the birth of the two princes, the head of the William Family was widely considered to be the successor of Emperor Boris. At that time, there were even strong rumours spreading across the empire that Boris might pass the throne to his student instead.

Although this never actually happened, it did not create any distance between the William Household and the royal family. Their relationship remained strong and unchanged.

As a result, throughout history, the William Household has always remained very close to the Royal Family. The William Household had always stood as one of their most trusted and loyal allies.

The power and influence of the previous Duke, who was also the head of the William Household, continued even after Emperor Boris stepped down. His presence and legacy were strong enough to keep the family’s position stable and respected within the empire.

However, everything changed after the unfortunate death of Duke William, who was poisoned. His sudden death created a gap in leadership that affected the entire household.

After his death, his two sons eventually stepped up to take responsibility and lead the family. But before they could fully establish their control, there was a brief period that lasted almost two centuries where the power of the William Household was held by their father’s brother.

This period is widely considered to be the darkest time in the history of the William Household. During this time, the family not only lost respect and prestige, but their overall influence within the empire also began to decline.

At the same time, their relationship with the royal family weakened, and they slowly drifted away from the throne. This created a distance that had never existed before between the William Household and the Royal Family.

But all of that changed when power returned to the son of Boris’s student. This marked a turning point for the William Household and the beginning of their rise once again.

During the darkest period of their family, the two brothers chose to stay away from politics. Instead of getting involved in the internal struggles, they focused on building their own strength and preparing themselves for the right moment. They remained patient and did not act recklessly.

And when the time finally came, they moved decisively. In a single night, they took back power from their uncle and completely changed the situation of their household.

After regaining control, the two brothers worked together to rebuild everything that had been lost. Under their leadership, the influence, prestige, and political power of the William Family within the Celestial Dragon Empire grew even stronger than before.

As time passed, the elder brother, who became the head of the William Family, continued to rise higher and higher. His leadership, combined with his vision, allowed the family to regain its lost glory and go even beyond it. Over the years, he established himself as one of the most influential Dukes the Empire had seen in the last 900 years.

Meanwhile, the younger brother, Nico William, chose a completely different path. Instead of remaining within the political sphere, he decided to build his name on the battlefield. He entered the military and slowly climbed through the ranks with his own strength and achievements.

451 years ago, Nico William officially became a General. From that point onward, his name began to spread across the empire, not as a noble who used his connections to rise in ranks in the Military but as a warrior who earned his position through countless battles.

With the combined political influence of both brothers, the William Family steadily rose to become one of the most powerful and influential families in the entire empire. Their authority extended across politics, the military, and territorial control.

And now, the William Family and the Duke had just lost someone who could be considered even more influential than the head of the house himself.

Because the General was the younger brother of the Duke, over the centuries, the entire family and even the Duke’s territories received countless benefits from this relationship. His position brought not only military strength but also security, prestige, and greater political leverage.

Not to mention, having his younger brother as the General of the Celestial Dragon Empire meant that no one would dare to act recklessly against the William Household. Anyone who even thought about going against them would have to think twice.

Because going against the William Household did not just mean facing the power of a noble family. It also meant facing the might of the Empire’s General himself, which made them an extremely dangerous force to challenge.

It was a grim situation.

In fact, even the word grim was not enough to fully describe what was happening. The situation had gone far beyond something that could be explained with a single word.

Just the news alone was enough to spread chaos, fear, and disbelief among the noble circles.

Every Noble who first heard the news had looks of shock and disbelief written on their faces. Some even sent their own man to verify and confirm that this was real.

One of the top and most powerful generals of the Celestial Dragon Empire had been found dead in his own bedroom.

The situation was even more shocking because no one had any idea that the General had died. From the outside, everything seemed normal, and there were no signs that something was wrong.

It was not until the next evening that the truth was discovered. A maid, who had been trying to get a response from him since the morning, grew increasingly worried when there was no reply.

In the end, she had no choice but to force her way into his bedroom.

Only then did they realise that the General had been dead the entire time.

This whole incident was a massive blow to the political power and reputation of the William Family. It was not just a personal loss, but something that affected their standing across the entire empire. At the same time, it was also a great loss and a huge slap in the face of the Celestial Dragon Empire itself.

The situation was so serious that even the enemies of the William Family chose to attend the funeral. This alone showed how important and shocking this incident truly was.

”I am Sorry for your loss.” Duke Cassian looked at the man who spoke to him.

It was Duke Ferdinand. Duke Ferdinand used to be more popular than him, but his huge fight with his brother seriously affected his reputation.

It was well known that Duke Ferdinand wasn’t exactly on good terms with his brother. Both sides fought a few times decades back over an issue regarding the military in Ferdinand’s territory.

The issue began when Duke Ferdinand started expanding his personal military forces beyond what was officially permitted by the Empire. He strengthened his army, built new fortifications, and began training elite units under his direct command, all within his own territory.

His brother opposed this strongly.

He believed that such actions were a direct violation of imperial law and could be seen as a sign of rebellion. Allowing a Duke to build such a powerful private army would not only disturb the balance of power but also threaten the authority of the throne.

Now, even his brother’s enemy had personally come.

”Thank you.” Cassian replied in a low tone. He was in no mood to talk to anyone, much less talk to the person who openly disliked his brother and did everything in his power to discredit him and ruin his brother’s reputation.

Really, thank you very much to all those who sent support with valuable golden tickets and gifts. I hope we can keep it up!!!

This whole funeral part will be really important. Maybe the first few Chapters feel a little bit boring, but bear with me. This will get interesting real soon.
