Chapter 1024: Chapter 1024:- Three Seconds to Save a Life

Aditya teleported right before him and punched him with every ounce of strength he had in his body.

Bang....!!!!

The punch sent Carrick flying. His back crashed into a tree trunk, causing the entire tree to fall on him.

”That’s a good punch!!” Carrick stood up and removed the dust from his cloak.

Just as Carriack stood up, tens of thousands of multi-colored lightnings volts was about to hit him.

At the last moment, he used a shadow chain to pull himself away from the attack.

”That was...!!” He could not finish. Using short-range teleportation, Aditya was on his path of dodging. His body was still in motion and moving towards Aditya. The sharp black sword was about to slice off his neck, but at the last second, he was able to shift his body.

The attack that should have severed his head landed on his right shoulder, but left a very deep wound that ran from his shoulder to his chest.

Tch....!!!

”One more strike to end the battle.” Aditya was about to get him, but Carrick was experienced and knew when to retreat.

Carrick avoided the next strike by immediately hiding in his shadow. And then that shadow itself disappeared from Aditya’s view. Or at least that’s what Carrick thought should have happened.

But this would not faze him. Aditya had spatial awareness of his surroundings. With gravity manipulation, his ability to sense his surroundings and even the fabric of space had greatly improved.

No matter how much Carrick conceals himself with his shadows, at the end of the day, he cannot escape the sense of someone who can sense the very fabric of space.

He even noticed it as well. As he moved around Aditya from his shadow, he noticed that he never managed to escape his stare. Like a bird staring at its prey from above, Aditya kept staring at Carrick.

It was like he could see him. Despite hiding inside his shadow, he did not feel relaxed at all. He felt like Aditya was staring into his eyes.

Usually, it would be him who would be staring at his opponents in this manner while hiding in his shadow. This was the first time in his life that he had met an opponent from whom he could not escape. In that moment, he felt as if he had become the prey and the hunter was staring at him.

Suddenly, from the shadows, two pairs of chains shot out towards Aditya. The chains were about to bind him, but at the last second, it was as if something invisible stopped them.

The chains became heavy and just fell on the ground before him.

”We can do this all day, but this won’t do anything to me. And if you are just capable of this, then my earliest statement about you being always a number two is correct.”

”You cannot even lend a single attack on a man whom you called a useless exiled prince.” Aditya looked at Carrick and said.

These statements made him very angry. His eyes turned red, and his aura became very violent.

Undead summoning!!!!

At his command, a massive magic circle spread across the battlefield, expanding to nearly 1,000 meters (≈ 0.62 miles) in diameter. Aditya stood calmly at its very centre as thousands of figures began to emerge from within its glowing patterns, their presence filling the entire area in an instant.

”At this point, you are just embarrassing yourself.” Aditya found himself surrounded by thousands of undead skeleton monsters. Each of these undead skeleton monsters had the strength to kill a 5th-order cultivator. But to the current Aditya, these undead skeletons were nothing but useless distractions to buy Carrick a few seconds at most.

”What are these low-ranking, stupid, undead monsters supposed to do to me? They can try the whole day, but they still won’t be able to land a single attack on me.”

”Stop with your stupid pranks and just come out of the shadows.”

”You bastard!” By this point, Carrick was furious. To think this useless nobody was mocking him and even comparing him to his brother and calling him number two.

Carrick came out of the shadow charged straight at Aditya. From the beginning, he is the one who is trying to get into Aditya’s head and make him lose control. But it was he who was losing his calm and allowing Aditya to get into his head.

Aditya dodged the attack with a mini teleportation and appeared behind him, and tried to end the fight early, but a dark purple magic circle appeared beneath him. At the centre of the circle, there was a giant Dragon skull.

The magic circle caused Aditya’s body to glow in dark purple light.

Horror of Death!!!!

The next second, Aditya’s movements froze. His hand stopped midair.

His eyes suddenly lost focus.

Seeing this, Carrick started laughing out loud.

”Did you really think I jumped out of the shadows without a plan?”

”Aditya.....!!!” The girls became worried.

”Rin, try to bring him to the spiritual world.” Athena immediately said.

Rin closed her eyes and tried to pull him to the Spiritual World, but unfortunately, it did not work.

”I can’t.” Rin sounded very frustrated.

”I have a plan. But I need all of us to act.” Athena had already foreseen. While a few seconds passed with Rin trying to get Aditya into the spiritual world, she was already thinking about how to free Aditya.

”Now, time to end you.” Carrick grabbed Aditya by his throat. He was about to crush his throat when he saw a firefly fly towards his face from his shoulder.

”What’s this?” Seeing the innocent, tiny firefly, Carrick stopped for a second. Even he couldn’t remember the last time he saw fireflies.

’I remember. The last time I saw fireflies was when I was with mom.’ It was as if one single firefly had triggered countless fond memories in his mind.

While he was thinking about the past while staring at a single firefly, he failed to notice when countless fireflies surrounded him from all sides. There were so many fireflies that they created a round wall around him.

By the time he realised that there was more than a single firefly, it was already too late.

The fireflies emitted a very strong, bright flash of light. Carrick had to cover his face, especially his eyes, with his palms because he felt like he was standing in front of the sun itself.

The moment Carrick closed his eyes, he felt someone pulling his mind.

When he opened his eyes, he found himself floating in a dark, endless space.

”Where the fuck am I?” He screamed out loud. But the space remained the same. He heard nothing except for his own voice, which did not even echo.

”Athena, I can’t hold him long,” Rin replied with her eyes closed. Against their wishes, holding a higher order cultivator within the Spiritual world put a lot of strain on her brain.

”Just hold there for as long as you can.” Meanwhile, Athena pressed her forehead against his forehead.

By now, Aditya had broken into a cold sweat. His face looked pale.

Horror of Death was a special innate skill that Carrick possessed. It was especially effective against lower-order cultivators. Aditya might have raised his stats to match the base stats of a Beginner 7th-order, but his mind, spirit, and soul were still the same. This is why this skill was so effective against him.

The worst part was that this skill can drain the life force of the target while continuously showing the target’s worst fears and nightmares. Eventually, when the target dies, he is completely broken.

As the Goddess of Wisdom, Athena had the power to pull Aditya out of his nightmare. Just 3 seconds of contact was necessary as this spell was cast by a High Order cultivator. Otherwise, just a single touch or a single firefly from her would have been enough.

Meanwhile, Carrick unleashed his full Aura within the spiritual world. Although Rin could bring people to the spiritual world, she could not suppress the power of higher-order cultivators. And when a higher order cultivator unleashed his full Aura, it just became impossible to contain that person in the spiritual world beyond a few seconds. And it was impossible for her to pull anyone above the mid-7th-order to the spiritual world. Because of these reasons, she could not bring Aditya’s grandfather, Boris, into the spiritual world.

”Fuck offfffffff!!!!!” With a roar, Carrick shattered the spiritual world.

This caused Rin to cough up blood and fall to her knees.

The moment he opened his eyes and saw the goddess of wisdom pressing her forehead against Aditya, he understood what she was trying to do.

”Die with him.” He aimed for a vicious cold strike at her nape from behind.
