Dragon Monarch System

Chapter 1034 1034:- Who Dares

”What His Majesty has done to this Emperor is something that no other Emperor before him have managed to do.” He looked at the Baron and the Viscount before looking at others.

”He has successfully managed to divide the nobles of this Empire. Nowadays, our rival Empires donʼt even take us seriously anymore.”

”Duke Ferdinand, you canʼt slander His Majesty like this just because His Majesty took control over the Spirit Stone Mine in your territory.” Just then, a man with long blond hair entered the hall.

He was one of the Elders of the Night Rider Sect. The Night Rider Sect was located west of the Celestial Dragon Empire. The Sect and the Empire were close allies. It was expected that the Sect would send someone here today.

Hearing the words of the Elder, Ferdinandʼs expression changed. He lost his previous calm expression.

”And you are telling me that this was the right thing? Where is the justice in that? Even the Emperor cannot suddenly take something from my territory without proper procedure and a valid reason.”

But Victor merely laughed in amusement.

”The Emperor owns and rules the entire Empire. You nobles are just taking care of his land on his behalf. Whenever he wants, he can take back what was given to you. And there is nothing you can do about it.”

Hearing this, not only Ferdinand, but the expressions of every noble present changed.

Even though Victorʼs words held a bitter truth, hearing it spoken so directly by an outsider made it far worse. It felt like a direct insult, as if someone had slapped them across the face in front of everyone.

The humiliation was hard to hide, and for a moment, the atmosphere in the room became even heavier.

”Victor, stop talking to the dogs on the sinking ship.” Sinking ships was the faction that stood against the Emperor. And the nobles were the dogs standing on the sinking ship.

No one here was an idiot. Just one sentence angered all those who stood against the Emperor.

Everyone, including Victor, Ferdinand, and Cassian, all look at the entrance only to see the Sect Leader of the Night Rider Sect walk in with one more elder following.

She was one of the most beautiful women in the Main Continent. Her beauty was said to be comparable to the beauty of the Seven Goddesses. But her personality was extremely cold and calculating.

Her name was Sophia Isabelle Martinez.

The Sect Leader and also one of the founders of the Night Rider Sect. Sophia was one of the most respected and feared figures all over the Main Continent. There was hardly anyone who did not know who she was.

The moment she entered the hall, everyone felt the temperature of the Hall instantly drop.

With every step she took, tiny snowflakes fell from her body onto the floor before disappearing.

She stood 2 meters or 6.5 feet in height. She had beautiful ice blue hair that she had tied into a beautiful braided bun with a light purple hairstick. One side of the hairstick had a dark purple snowflake design.

She wore a beautiful, white, modest kimonos. The white Kimono signalled her purity. Despite living for over 15,000 years, the Sect Leader was still a virgin. In the last thousand years, she had not come into contact with any man.

Despite wearing a loose white Kimono, it still failed to hide her curves. She had very big, round breasts that were enough to draw eyes to her chest and make noble women feel envious. Her waist was very small, and her back could make any man have bad intentions about her.

Sophia understood this, which is why she always hid her face behind a transparent veil. The veil appeared transparent, but it was impossible to see her real appearance through the veil.

The moment she stepped in, the crowd of nobles began to whisper among themselves.

”The Northern Ice Monarch is here.” Thatʼs the nickname she got from the masses before she became the Sect Leader. She was one of the youngest Eldest and the founding member of the Night Rider Sect.

After the passing of the first Sect Leader, Sophia was chosen to lead the Sect. And once she became the Sect Leader, her nickname as the ʼNorthern Ice Monarchʼ solidified.

”Why is she here?” If it had been something related to royalty or an important imperial matter, then it would have made sense for the Sect Leader of one of the most powerful Sects in the Main Continent to appear. That kind of presence would not have been surprising.

But this was just the funeral of a noble. Even if that noble happens to be one of the Generals of the Empire.

If one of the Elders of the Night Rider Sect died, then the Emperor himself would not come to attend their funeral. This was the same case here. The Sect Leaderʼs position was the same as the position of an Emperor.

Normally, this was not the kind of event where someone of her status would personally show up. Someone as high-ranked and influential as her had no reason to attend such a gathering.

This was exactly why everyone present was both surprised and confused to see the Northern Ice Monarch here.

”Isnʼt it obvious?”

”She isnʼt here for the funeral. She is here to see if the rumours are true.” Because this was something the neighbours of the Celestial Dragon Empire could not avoid. Because this civil war will affect them all, whether anyone wants to be a part of it or not.

”Not to mention, the Sect Leader is close friends with the Current Emperor.” This was known by everyone in this hall. Every noble knew that the Emperor and the Sect Leader had known each other for centuries and had a close relationship. They werenʼt close enough to be called friends, but they werenʼt strangers either.

Their political ideologies aligned with each other. Which is why both supported each other a lot.

As the Northern Ice Monarch walked past Duke Ferdinand, she paused for a moment and said without looking at him.

”If Aditya Bainnith dares to return, I will personally chop him to pieces and feed his remains to the dogs that roam outside of my Sect.”

Then she continued walking towards Duke Cassian.

But the words that she spoke in a normal tone caused a massive uproar among the nobles. Some nobles who were thinking of siding with Aditya to stand against the current Emperor started reconsidering their decisions.

Many nobles looked at each other with hesitation.

But Duke Ferdinand showed no expression. He just smirked.

He looked at the Baron and Viscount, the ones whom he had spoken to earlier. ”It seems the Dogs and the Bitches that used to bark and excitedly wag their tail around the Royal Family have grown some balls.”

”We havenʼt forgotten certain people who used to act like the Royal Familyʼs bitch.”

The words were spoken normally, and the Frost Ice Monarch heard them. Upon hearing those words, the first one to react was Victor. His expression turned ugly like he was forced to eat shit.

But the person who was the most offended by these words was Sophia. She was not going to sit and accept a mere Duke calling her a bitch.

Sophia stopped and coldly turned around. She coldly looked at Duke Ferdinand.

Sophia instantly wanted to kill this man, but before she could act.

”This is a funeral. I expect everyone to have some sense of decency in them and not cause trouble.” Cassian spoke to everyone without looking back. Obviously, his words were aimed at Sophia.

Hearing this, Sophia did not act.

If she did kill Ferdinand in rage, that would still ruin her reputation. She will be called as the woman who could not accept a few sentences from a mere noble and caused chaos at a funeral. But that did not mean she was going to let things slide.

She already had plans for this man once the funeral was over.

”It seems I will be killing not only one dog, but two dogs.” She was clearly calling Aditya a dog.

To everyone present, this was completely insane. Calling a member of the Royal Family a dog, even if that person had been exiled and was no longer officially part of the Royal Family, was crossing a line that no one dared to cross.

Yes, on paper, Aditya was no longer royalty. That much was true.

But the reality was different.

The Royal blood still flowed through his veins.

And by saying those words, Sophia was not just insulting him; she was directly disrespecting that very blood.

”Did someone call my grandson a dog?”

Booooooom!!!!!!

The Aura of a Peak 7th-order cultivator was unleashed on everyone. The killing intent of this person was so heavy that the servants instantly fainted. They could not bear the suffocating pressure of his killing intent.

Everyone turned their heads to the entrance.

At the entrance, there was a small group led by an old man walking with a wooden cane. The old man had coldly stared at only one person, and that was Sophia.

Seeing him, even Sophiaʼs expression changed. In those cold eyes, traces of fear appeared. If there was any wild card in this whole Empire, it was this old man.

ʼWhy is he here?ʼ Sophia thought in her mind.
