Dragon Monarch System

Chapter 1019: Chapter 1019:- Bounty of 1,000,000 Platinum Coins

”Laura, can you please tell me why we are here again?” Rin asked in a frustrated tone.

To others, it looked like a group of four travellers had arrived in a City called Greyhaven City.

Greyhaven was the closest city to the Grimwood Forest and the Dragon Mountain Range. The entire Grimwood Forest stretched across 8 Duke territories. At the centre of the Grimwood Forest was the Dragon Mountain Range.

”We are here to get ourselves trapped within Dragon Mountain Range,” Laura replied in a playful tone. But deep down, she herself was very worried. And she could also feel her other half, Athena, was equally worried, if not more.

”Was it really necessary for us to come here when Uncle and Aunt repeatedly warned us to go to the Dragon Mountain Range?” Alen had told Aditya that unless he had no other options, he should not go to the Dragon Mountain Range.

Both Alen and Elena repeatedly warned. But the first place that Aditya decided to go after the long meeting with his parents and his allies was the Dragon Mountain Range. Everyone called his move crazy, but Aditya had other plans.

As for Alfred, he had given him the task of going back to the Dragon Palace and bringing Mateo and Bree to the Main Continent as well. After his visit from the Dragon Mountain Range, the plan was to let the whole Celestial Dragon Empire know that the exiled Crown Prince was back.

Laura did not merge with Athena. She stayed separate as a result; now there were 4 instead of 3.

”It is!” Aditya replied in a low tone without looking at Rin.

”There are 13 National Treasures. Currently, no one in this group can go against any of the National Treasures. If we want to maximise our chances of winning this upcoming war, then we need to have someone really powerful and influential on our side.”

”And that person is my grandfather Boris Bainnith.”

”I don’t really care about meeting other past Emperors or Elders. Even if I wake them up, they might find it annoying and just decide to kill us if they feel like it. But I am Boris’s grandson. Although we don’t know what kind of man he is, since Father said that he should be our last option, it’s safe to assume that he is a man who will help us instead of killing us for disturbing his slumber or seclusion.”

Rin felt Aditya’s words made sense. But the question still remained what they were supposed to do about the Purple Fog that covers the entire Dragon Mountain Range.

As they were passing by the city square, they noticed a group of soldiers standing on a raised platform, holding detailed hand-painted portraits of Aditya, Athena, Rin, and Laura.

Even without any kind of printing methods, the paintings were incredibly accurate, capturing their faces so perfectly that anyone who saw them could recognise them instantly.

”People of Greyhaven, listen carefully!” One of the soldiers stepped forward on the raised platform and raised his voice so that everyone in the square could hear him clearly.

”These four individuals are the most wanted criminals of the Celestial Dragon Empire.” He pointed at the detailed portraits of Aditya, Athena, Rin, and Laura. Across the whole city, similar things were taking place. In the busiest parts of the city, paintings were shown to the general crowd. In some busy areas, paintings were being hung on walls for the public to see, with the mention of a reward.

The crowd slowly began to gather, their eyes fixed on the paintings. The faces were drawn so clearly that there was no room for confusion.

”Anyone who sees them and reports it to the soldiers will receive a reward of 100,000 Platinum Coins.”

A murmur spread through the crowd. That amount was enough for a family of 4 to live the lifestyle of a Baron for the next 100 years. And if this amount was spent carefully, this much can last an individual easily over a thousand years. In short, this amount was enough for a lifetime settlement.

But the soldier was not done yet.

”If anyone provides their exact location, or if your information leads to their capture, then that person or group will receive a reward of 1,000,000 Platinum Coins.”

This time, the crowd erupted into loud whispers. Some people even gasped in shock. A reward of that level was something most people would never even see in their lifetime. This was the first time the Empire was handing out such a huge amount of reward for wanted criminals.

But then the soldier’s expression turned cold.

”But listen carefully... anyone who gives false information will be punished.”

”Those who try to mislead the Empire will have four of their fingers cut off as punishment. In addition, they will be fined 10,000 Platinum Coins.” No one spoke after hearing this. The excitement that had just filled the air was now mixed with fear.

Some smart ones who had previously considered giving false information to receive rewards immediately stopped their evil money-making scheme. This matter was extremely serious and was being carried out by the direct orders of the Current Emperor.

Aditya heard the soldiers describe other details about them. Like their height, body structure and other such details.

Unfortunately for these soldiers, before leaving the Dwarf Tribe, they had changed their appearances with clever disguises. Aditya was now two inches taller than he was, thanks to the special boots that he wore, made by Leo.

He also used temporary dye to change his hair colour to reddish brown. Pupil colour to black. He even wore heavy clothes to make himself look slightly chubby.

Athena and Laura changed their appearances completely. Since both girls were of the same height, they decided to make themselves look like twins.

Both of them wrapped bandages around their chests to make them appear smaller. After that, they carefully applied makeup to change the shape of their faces slightly. Their hair colour was changed to white, and even their skin tone was altered to a light brown shade. With so many changes made to their looks, their original appearance was completely hidden. Even Aditya could not recognise them at first glance.

As for Rin, the Goddess personally helped her change her appearance. Using makeup, one side of her face was made to look slightly burned, with faint scars running across her cheek and jaw. It was not too extreme, but enough to make people avoid looking at her too closely.

Just like the others, she also changed the colour of her pupils. Her hair was dyed pink and tied into a high ponytail, which made her look slightly taller and gave her a different presence.

For her outfit, she did not wear anything too simple. Instead, she wore a traditional long robe that looked like something from a mix of eastern styles. The robe had layered fabric, long sleeves, and fine patterns stitched along the edges. It looked elegant, but not overly flashy.

The reason for this was simple. If they dressed too plainly, they would stand out in a different way and attract attention. But by wearing something normal and common for people of decent status, they could blend into the crowd much more naturally.

The group quickly left the scene. They teleported near the Eastern Gate of the public teleportation array. To go to the Dragon Mountain Range, they needed to head to the western gate. That meant walking through the entire city.

The moment they passed through Western Gate, one of the guards watched from the city walls.

”What are you looking at?” Another guard saw that his friend was slacking off. He also looked in that direction and saw a slightly chubby, tall man walking with three women.

”Are you interested in any of them?”

”You know, if you are interested, just say it. We all will help you get that girl by any means.” This isn’t the Istarin Empire. The military of the Celestial Dragon Empire was very corrupt. Even the bottom-level soldiers earned 5 to 10 times their normal salary by doing things a soldier shouldn’t be doing.

There were some scums who even forcefully slept with the wives of poor couples.

”No need! I was looking at them because I wanted to know if they were the wanted criminals.”

Hearing this, the second guard looked at their backs once again.

”I don’t think so. Look at that guy, he is taller than the wanted criminal and also chubby.”

”You are right.”

”I need to go to the washroom. I will be back in a few minutes.”

The guard then quietly slipped into an empty storage room. He then took out an artefact that all scouts of the Organisation had.

”Report! This is Scout number 10641 reporting from Greyhaven City. I have spotted a group of four heading in the direction of the Grimwood Forest.”
