Dragon Monarch System

Chapter 1020: Chapter 1020:- Dragon Mountain Range

After leaving the city, it was only when the city was out of their view, because of all the tall trees, that the group took off flying.

There were several reasons why they did this. The first reason was obviously to check if they had any pursuits. The second reason was that if they flew off right after exiting the city, then this could have come under the attention of the guards, and they might have been forced to stop by the soldiers.

Even if the soldiers stopped them with just 1% doubt that these four might be the wanted criminals, then there was still a bit of a chance that they might be exposed. The group had a perfect disguise. To make sure they could blend in, each of them had a different role and a fake identity within the group. But it was still necessary to be careful rather than sorry later.

Not to mention, just walking would take them 4 to 7 days to reach the base of the Dragon Mountain range.

The Grimwood Forest started just a few hundred meters away from the Western gate of the city. Walking not only would slow them down, but also carry the risk of meeting powerful magic animals.

So it was better to just fly at high speed toward the dragon mountain range.

”Aditya!” Rin suddenly called out to him.

”What is it?” He looked at in concern.

”I feel like I’m extremely close to breaking through.” Hearing this, everyone stopped in mid-air.

”Really?” Aditya became really happy for Rin.

”I am proud of you.” He tightly hugged her and then kissed her lips and cheeks. He was happier about her progress than he would be if he reached a New Order.

Hehe.....!!!

The Goddess of Music was very happy and pleased to see everyone’s happy reaction.

Rin had reached Peak 5th-order quite a long time ago. She could not advance further because, within the six continents, cultivation is limited to just the peak fifth order.

She had reached a point where she could no longer cultivate. In fact, her cultivation had reached a very advanced stage, to the point where she was finding it difficult to even suppress it. If she cultivated, even for a few minutes, it would be enough for her to trigger the heavenly tribulation that a cultivator faces when going from Peak 5th order to beginner sixth order.

Most Peak 5th-order cultivators were immediately triggered into a Heavenly Tribulation the moment they entered the Tunnel World. Many of them did not move forward right away and instead chose to stop within the Tunnel World to make a breakthrough.

For a 5th-order cultivator coming from the Six Continents, entering the Tunnel World or the Main Continent felt very different. It was as if the container holding their cultivation had already been filled to the very limit. Their core felt tight, like it could no longer hold any more energy. With just a little more pressure, it felt like everything inside would burst out all at once.

Rin’s situation was also the same.

They had spent more than one day in the territory of the dwarf tribe. While Aditya continued meeting various people, she secretly cultivated.

She understood that her strength was not good enough. If she could somehow reach Beginner of sixth order, then she could at least hold her own against cultivators of sixth order.

”Unfortunately, we cannot stop here for Rin to make a breakthrough.” Athena cautiously kept glancing around. The more time they waited here, the higher the chance of the organisation finding their actual location.

Not to mention, right now, none of them had any power to take on any Seventh-order cultivator. So if the organisation did send any seventh-order cultivator or multiple Peak sixth-order cultivator, the group would be in a very bad situation.

”If a heavenly tribulation is triggered, then this will get the attention of the nearby sleeping magic beasts, and also the guards from the city will definitely come here to investigate.” Regardless of which party arrives, it would be bad news for them.

Understanding the situation, Rin nodded her head and decided to suppress her cultivation a little longer.

”Aditya, we have a problem now.” These were not ordinary wolves. They were known as Stormfang Wolves, which was a rare species that lived in high-altitude regions. Their bodies were large and powerful, each one standing nearly 3 meters (10 feet) tall and over 6 meters (20 feet) long from head to tail.

Their fur was a mix of deep silver and dark blue, with faint streaks of glowing light running across their bodies like lightning trapped under their skin. Their eyes shone with a sharp golden glow, filled with intelligence and aggression. As 5th-order magic animals, these wolves were as intelligent as Humans.

Unlike normal wolves, these creatures had wide, wing-like energy formations extending from their backs, allowing them to fly through the sky with great speed and control. Their claws were long and curved, and their fangs were thick enough to tear through even reinforced armour.

”Wolves of that power scale don’t need to rely on hunting or eating to survive. Why are they attacking us?”

”That’s because we must have stopped in their territory,” Athena explained as she was ambushed by similar wolves multiple times in the past.

”Their territory extends up to the air as well?” Rin could not help but ask. Athena gave her a silent nod.

”This species of magic wolf is extremely territorial and violent. They would rather die than let someone else take their territory.”

”The worst part, even if their leader died, these wolves will instantly make someone else their new leader and continue attacking.”

”Then kill them all.” Crimson lightning started flickering out of his body. The moment his entire body was covered in Crimson lightning, he disappeared.

Swoosh!

In just a few seconds, under the watchful gaze of the girls, Aditya made nineteen rapid teleportations. Each movement was so fast that it was almost impossible to follow with the naked eye. Only faint flashes of his presence appeared and disappeared across the sky.

On his twentieth teleportation, he returned to his original position as if nothing had happened.

For a brief moment, everything became still.

Then, slowly, the head of the leader wolf detached from its body and fell toward the ground. A second later, its massive body followed.

One after another, the same thing happened to the rest of the wolves. Their heads separated cleanly from their bodies before falling from the sky.

In just a few seconds, Aditya had severed the heads of every single magic wolf and completely wiped out the entire pack.

Aditya’s feat once again stunned the girls. Just these few seconds gave them a new perspective on just how terrifying his strength had become after reaching beginner fifth order.

Before, he could take on hundreds of fifth-order cultivators. But his efficiency in killing fifth-order cultivators or magic animals had reached a new level now.

”Let’s continue!”

The group continued to fly towards the dragon mountain range.

Within two hours, the group reached the dragon mountain range. They were able to tell this was the dragon mountain range because when they looked ahead, they saw only purple and purple fog.

”Aditya, there is still time to turn around and head back.” The most terrifying part was not the special magical beasts that had evolved over hundreds of thousands of years to adapt to this purple fog and use it skillfully in battle.

The most terrifying part was the fog itself.

This fog could distort the senses of even a powerful cultivator to such an extent that, even if that person was just 10 meters (32 feet) away from the exit of the Dragon Mountain Range, they still would not be able to tell which direction to go.

Their sense of direction would be completely lost, as if the world itself were shifting around them.

To this day, countless cultivators are still trapped inside the Dragon Mountain Range, wandering in circles without realising it, holding on to the hope that one day they will somehow find their way out.

”I came to this place with a plan. I need you girls to trust me with this.” Aditya sincerely looked at the girls.

Before giving up, he at least wanted to test the waters. If he really found no other option, then he would have no choice but to give up. With so many people depending on him, just recklessly charging into the purple fog and getting lost in that purple fog forever was not worth it.

At the same time, the weight and expectation of so many people made it impossible for him to fail. Rather, the correct choice of word here would be that he could not simply afford to fail.
