Medical and Martial God

Still, no one stepped forward. Now, the Dragon Head, Ye Tianming, and the members of the Long and Ye Families who had never beaten or tormented the farmhands were all starting to panic.

”I’ll expose him! The one who raped that girl was Ye Chen!” Ye Shaokang’s second son, Ye Xiang, suddenly shouted. The Ye Chen he accused was Ye Shaokang’s eldest son—his own brother.

”Ye Xiang, you...” Ye Chen’s face drained of color. He never imagined that his own flesh and blood would be the one to betray him.

”You?” Ye Xiu waved his hand, pulling Ye Chen toward him by an unseen force. He grabbed Ye Chen by the neck and addressed the farmhands, ”Point out every person who has ever beaten or tormented you.”

The words had barely left his mouth when, before the farmhands could even speak, all those who had abused them turned and fled in every direction. They thought that if they kept quiet, Ye Xiu would never find out. They didn’t believe he would actually slaughter every last member of the Ye and Long Families. But they had forgotten one crucial detail: the farmhands had seen everything and could identify them all.

Fleeing is our only chance to live! If we stay, we die for sure! If we run, maybe there’s a sliver of hope!

”Go to Hell, you animals!” Ye Xiu slammed his right foot into the ground. The rock beneath it exploded like a bomb, sending sharp fragments flying in all directions. Each piece of shrapnel precisely struck a fleeing person in the back of the head. In an instant, not a single one of the fugitives was left alive.

The members of the Long and Ye Families were so horrified by this display that they trembled uncontrollably. All thirty-three of the people who had tried to run were from the Long Family. A quarter of them were even First Realm War Gods. Yet Ye Xiu had merely stomped on a rock, and the resulting shrapnel had easily ’sniped’ all thirty-three of them. What a terrifying power...

The farmhands, terrified by Ye Xiu’s ruthless methods, collapsed to the ground, paralyzed with fear. Even though they were grateful he had saved them, and even though they knew he had killed on their behalf, they couldn’t help but feel that the man before them was a demon.

”Anyone else?” Ye Xiu asked, his gaze sweeping over the farmhands.

No one answered. It seems that’s all of them. His eyes fell back on Ye Chen, who was still gasping in his grip. ”That just leaves you.”

”Big Brother, Big Brother, don’t! It’s me, Ye Chen! I’m Second Uncle’s son... I’m your cousin! Please, don’t kill me! Don’t kill me...” Ye Chen shrieked in terror as a pale yellow liquid soaked through his pants. He had pissed himself from fear.

”So now you remember I’m your ’Big Brother’?” Ye Xiu’s eyes were like ancient glaciers, devoid of all human emotion. His voice was as cold as sleet. ”Tomorrow is the anniversary of my mother’s death, and my grandparents’ as well. I need you to do me a favor and deliver a message for me when you get down there. Tell them I won’t be able to visit their graves and pay my respects. I’ll go to their tombs and beg for forgiveness only after I’ve sliced all my enemies into a thousand pieces.”

With a sickening CRACK, his neck was twisted and broken.

The sound sent a tremor of pure terror through the Ye Family. Ye Xiu... he’s finally started killing us.

Ye Xiu casually tossed Ye Chen’s body at Ye Tianming’s feet. ”How are you going to compensate these farmhands?” he asked.

”I’ll give them money! I’ll pay!” Ye Tianming cried out.

Ye Xiu nodded. Just as he was about to negotiate the compensation amounts, his phone rang. The call was from Qing Luan. He quickly stepped away to answer, keeping his voice low so the Long and Ye Family members couldn’t overhear.

”About ten minutes ago,” Qing Luan said, ”your Battle Soul Blade was stolen.”

Ye Xiu’s brow furrowed. ”Who would be so bold?”

After he and the Blood Cloth Guards slaughtered their way through that army of 300,000 at the border, no one should dare to covet the Battle Soul Blade.

”He said his name is Yue Longxuan,” Qing Luan continued. ”When he took the blade, he left a letter on the Boundary Monument.”

Yue Longxuan? Ye Xiu ended the call, mulling over the name. I’ve never heard of him. Is he from one of the Judicator Families, or the Restorer Alliance? It has to be one of the two. Other than them, no one else on Earth would dare make a move on the Battle Soul Blade.

Just then, his phone buzzed. Qing Luan had sent him a photo of the letter. He immediately called her back. ”Read it to me.”

Qing Luan recited the contents: ”Huang Quan, have you ever known defeat? If you wish to, come find me at Gushuang Mountain in Nanjing’s Wanjing Grand Mountain tomorrow at noon. I will use your own Battle Soul Blade to defeat you and take your head.”

A blatant provocation. The man is courting death... A murderous glint flashed in Ye Xiu’s eyes. ”Where is Gushuang Mountain?”

”I’ve already got people looking for it,” Qing Luan replied. ”I’ll send you the location as soon as we find it.”

Ye Xiu ended the call and strode back to Ye Tianming and the Dragon Head. ”How much are you planning to pay them in compensation?”

The Dragon Head spoke up immediately. ”You name the price.”

Ye Tianming fought the urge to kick him. The Long Family was nearly broke; if Ye Xiu named some exorbitant price, the Ye Family would be the one footing the entire bill.

Ye Xiu considered this for a moment before speaking. ”For those who weren’t beaten or abused, one million each. For those who were, two million each. For the two men whose legs were broken, five million each. For the girl who was raped, fifty million. And for the families of the two who were killed, one hundred million each. That’s not too much, is it?”

He knew that for those who were killed or assaulted, no amount of money could ever heal their trauma or grief. This was simply the best he could do. After all, the dead could not be resurrected, and lost innocence could not be restored.

”Not too much at all! Not at all!” the Dragon Head hastily agreed.

Ye Tianming’s face darkened. And he has the nerve to say that’s not too much?

Ye Xiu nodded, his gaze sweeping across all the members of the Long and Ye Families. ”I expect you to have tunneled through this mountain by sunrise. When I return tomorrow to inspect your work, if the mountain is not yet pierced, you will all die.”

”What?” The faces of the family members turned pale. Evening was already approaching. He expects us to dig through a mountain in a single night? Even though it’s not a large mountain and we only need to go a few dozen meters... we don’t have any tools! How are we supposed to do it?

”Can you do it?” Ye Xiu demanded.

”Yes! Yes, we can...” they all stammered in unison.

Ye Xiu nodded, then turned to Liu Dakang and the other farmhands. ”Liu Dakang, would you and the others be willing to stay and supervise them? You can curse them and beat them as you please. If any of them dare to retaliate, you tell me.”

Liu Dakang and the others were still frozen with fear from the slaughter they had just witnessed. None of them dared to agree, or even speak.

”I am Ye Xiu,” he said simply. ”And these people are from the Ye and Long Families. I’m sure you’ve heard of them.”

”Ye Xiu? Are you... the Xuanse Medicine King, Divine Doctor Ye?” Liu Dakang asked, his voice filled with disbelief.

The other farmhands stared at Ye Xiu, their eyes wide with shock.

”I am,” Ye Xiu confirmed with a nod.

In that instant, all the fear the farmhands felt toward Ye Xiu evaporated. Though they were simple mountain folk, they had heard the stories. They knew he had been cast out by the Ye Family at birth. They knew he had been framed and disgraced ten years ago. And while they didn’t know the Long Family was behind the framing, they had heard that the entire family was on Huang Quan’s kill list—people who deserved to die.

”Since it’s your command, I’m willing to stay and supervise,” Liu Dakang declared.

”I’m willing too!”

”I’ll stay!”

”Don’t you worry, Divine Doctor Ye,” another man added. ”We won’t let the Ye and Long Families have an easy time of it.”
