Medical and Martial God

A checkmate!

When Baishan Jun and Gu Mufeng knelt and declared, ”Disciple pays respects to Master,” it was more effective than the deadliest martial arts technique. A complete checkmate!

It sent the Dragon Master, Ye Tianming, and Long Yi, Long Er, Long Shan, Long Shi, Long Wu, and Long Liu plunging into an abyss of despair, doomed to a fate beyond redemption.

”Impossible, this is impossible...” the Dragon Master suddenly challenged, sounding like a deranged patient. ”Baishan Jun, Gu Mufeng, have you no shame? Your combined age is over two hundred, while Ye Xiu is only twenty-six! Your strength, Medical Skills, and status are all greater than his. How could you possibly be his disciples? Impossible! Absolutely impossible...”

Still kneeling on one knee, Baishan Jun and Gu Mufeng turned their heads sharply and glared at the Dragon Master.

Baishan Jun said coldly, ”Long Tianba, are you questioning our master-disciple relationship?”

As heaven was their witness, Baishan Jun and Gu Mufeng were eternally grateful to Ye Xiu in that moment. Letting them call him Master in public was far more dignified than forcing them to call him Lord.

”Really?” the Dragon Master asked, looking as though he’d been struck by lightning. He posed no more questions.

”You may rise,” Ye Xiu said calmly.

Baishan Jun and Gu Mufeng hastily got up and stood behind Ye Xiu, behaving like two juniors showing him the utmost respect.

”Is your head spinning yet?” Ye Xiu asked mockingly as he looked at the Dragon Master, Ye Tianming, and the six members of the Long Family Alliance.

The faces of the eight men turned ashen. Their heads weren’t just spinning; they felt as if they’d been struck by lightning, with electricity crackling inside their skulls.

”You thought your status as members of the sponsor team meant you could push me around however you pleased and that I wouldn’t dare to do anything to you. Hmph, how naive!

”You act so high and mighty just because you’re some sponsors. I am Baishan Jun and Gu Mufeng’s master and a member of Medicine King Valley. Have you seen me swaggering around? How shallow!”

Ye Xiu scolded the eight of them as an elder would a junior, pointing at their foreheads as he gave them a dressing-down.

The eight men hung their heads in silence, their hearts sinking into endless panic.

Ye Xiu is from Medicine King Valley! He’s the master of Baishan Jun and Gu Mufeng!

This meant that even if Ye Xiu killed them, the three Judicator Families would say nothing.

In other words, their very lives were in Ye Xiu’s hands!

”Surprised? Wasn’t that unexpected?” Ye Xiu asked with a cold smirk as he walked up to Ye Tianming.

Ye Tianming shivered in terror, bowing his head low and refusing to speak, presenting Ye Xiu with the top of his bald head.

”Back in Jin Ye City, you and Ye Shaokang learned my identity and even helped build graves for my mother and grandparents. I thought your attitude toward me might change.

”I thought you might regret expelling my mother and me from the Ye Family twenty-six years ago.

”I thought you might regret what you did to me ten years ago.

”I thought you would bring the Ye Family to me to genuinely repent.

”Lately, I’ve sometimes wondered, if the Ye Family had changed, if all its members had become good people, could I still bring down the Butcher’s Knife?

”Even though you are all inhuman beasts, and the things you did to my mother and me are too numerous to list, a hundred deaths would not be enough to atone for your sins.

”But blood is thicker than water, after all.

”Could I really bring myself to slaughter my own kin?

”I never expected it!

”After I arrived in Yunluo City, your newfound status as a sponsor emboldened you, and you began trying every method you could think of to kill me.”

At this, Ye Xiu patted Ye Tianming’s shoulder and continued, ”Thank you. I sincerely thank you. You gave me courage and strengthened my resolve. I have completely lost hope in the Ye Family. Now, I will no longer have any psychological barrier to killing its members!”

Every word from Ye Xiu struck Ye Tianming’s heart like a sledgehammer. He never imagined that Ye Xiu had actually given him and the Ye Family a chance.

But he himself had tossed that chance into the garbage, and in doing so, had doomed the entire Ye Family.

”You six must be Long Yi, Long Er, Long Shan, Long Shi, Long Wu, and Long Liu from the Long Family Alliance, right?” Ye Xiu asked, pushing Ye Tianming aside to look at the six men.

”Yes, yes, yes!” they all nodded repeatedly, cold sweat streaming down their faces in fear.

”Although you are from the Long Family Alliance, I never intended to cause you any trouble. After all, the events of ten years ago had nothing to do with you.

”That’s why I only demanded that the Ye Family, the Wang Family, and the Long Family come to kowtow and beg me to heal Wang Yue.

”But you came uninvited, and you even planned to kill me.

”With this, you’ve walked straight through the Ghost Gate yourselves.”

Like the Life-Death Judge, Ye Xiu sentenced Ye Tianming and now passed judgment on the six men of the Alliance.

THUMP!

Long Yi, Long Er, Long Shan, Long Shi, Long Wu, and Long Liu all dropped to their knees.

”Mr. Ye, I was wrong! Please give me another chance! I promise I will never be your enemy again.”

”I was threatened by Long Tianba! I had no choice but to join the plot against you. Please, see the truth of the matter!”

”Divine Doctor Ye, you are a kind and magnanimous man! Please grant me a chance to turn over a new leaf.”

The six men pleaded for mercy.

At that moment, they couldn’t care less about dignity. As long as they could live and save their clans, they wouldn’t hesitate for half a second to lick Ye Xiu’s heels.

”I’m not one for wanton killing. Fine, I’ll give you one chance,” Ye Xiu said after a moment of thought. ”The Mist Chant Martial Meeting will be held at Wanjin Mountain in Nanjing. The people there are very poor, and their lives are difficult. Each of you will donate half of your family’s fortune to build roads and schools for the people of Nanjing. You will also provide them with money and basic necessities like food and firewood. Can you do that?”

Hearing this, the six men were overjoyed.

Half their fortune in exchange for the lives of their entire clans? This deal was a bargain!

”Yes, yes!”

”I am willing to contribute.”

”Rest assured, Divine Doctor Ye, I will do as you say.”

All six readily agreed.

”Remember, this is the only chance I’m giving you. Now, get out,” Ye Xiu said calmly.

”Yes, yes, yes!” The six of them knocked their heads against the floor, then scrambled to their feet and fled.

Watching this, the Dragon Master took a deep, angry breath. The Long Family Alliance had just been dismantled by Ye Xiu, piece by piece.

”Now it’s your turn,” Ye Xiu said, his cold gaze fixed on the Dragon Master.

”You won’t kill me,” the Dragon Master said disdainfully, meeting Ye Xiu’s gaze without fear. ”I know you won’t. You enjoy the process of torturing me. You want me and everyone in the Long Family to experience what you went through ten years ago. You want to watch me and my family live a life worse than death. So not only will you not kill me, you’ll even let me live well.”

”Kill him,” Ye Xiu said indifferently.

Baishan Jun and Gu Mufeng leaped into action, launching a joint attack on the Dragon Master.

”This...” The Dragon Master’s face changed dramatically. A second ago, he was certain Ye Xiu wouldn’t kill him; the next, Ye Xiu had ordered his death.

This... can it be that Ye Xiu no longer wants to toy with me?

The Dragon Master panicked. Seeing Baishan Jun and Gu Mufeng charge at him, he despaired.

Forget the two of them attacking together—I can’t even beat one of them alone! It’s over... I’m doomed!

”Stop!” Ye Xiu suddenly commanded.

Baishan Jun and Gu Mufeng’s swords, which were inches from the Dragon Master’s forehead, halted abruptly.

”Break out in a cold sweat?” Ye Xiu asked with a smile.

The Dragon Master was speechless.

”That’s right, I couldn’t bear to kill you. If you died, who would I have to play with?” Ye Xiu said with a laugh. ”Listen carefully. Our game officially begins now. Be ready twenty-four hours a day, because you’ll never guess how I’m going to play with you. See them out!”
