Medical and Martial God

”Cough, cough...” Pusang awkwardly scratched his head and said, ”Brother, her name is Meng Yinwan. She’s not from the three Arbiter Families. She approached Kristina to get the addresses of the Arbiter Families.”

An undercover agent? Ye Xiu patted the mature woman. ”Did you manage to get it?”

”Not yet!” the woman said through clenched teeth, humiliated.

Ye Xiu released her acupoints. ”Let’s exchange contact information. Notify me the moment you find out.”

Despite her burning desire to bite Ye Xiu to death, Meng Yinwan still exchanged contact information with him. As she was saving his number, she asked, ”What’s your name?”

Ye Xiu thought for a moment. ”Xie Guangkun!”

Pusang and his two companions were completely confused. Wasn’t his name Ye Xiu? Why did he change it?

Pusang was about to ask Ye Xiu why he had changed his name but was pulled aside. ”Come on, Pusang, let’s take a photo together,” Ye Xiu said, taking out his phone, opening the camera, and wrapping an arm around Pusang’s shoulder.

Pusang smiled cooperatively, although he had no idea why Ye Xiu suddenly wanted a photo with him.

After taking the picture, Ye Xiu exchanged a few pleasantries with Pusang and then hurriedly left.

”Xie Guangkun...” Meng Yinwan glared at Ye Xiu’s retreating figure, gritting her teeth.

”His name isn’t Xie Guangkun.” Pusang’s face had lost its simple, honest expression, and his eyes grew sharp.

Meng Yinwan was baffled.

”His name is Ye Xiu!” Pusang declared.

”You mean Ye Xiu, the Medicine King of Xuanse?” Meng Yinwan exclaimed.

Pusang and his companions were stunned. ”Is he really that famous?” Pusang asked.

”He’s more than famous. There’s probably no one on Earth who doesn’t know the name Ye Xiu, and his influence in Xuanse is unparalleled,” Meng Yinwan said, her eyes narrowing. She truly hadn’t expected the man she had been flirting with to be the legendary Ye Xiu.

”Interesting!” A cold smile played on Pusang’s lips. ”Ye Xiu’s strength is astonishing, at least a Seventh Realm War God, and his influence is immense. He’s perfect for our purposes.”

Meng Yinwan instantly understood. ”You mean to use Ye Xiu against the three Arbiter Families?”

”Wouldn’t it be great to use him as cannon fodder?” Pusang said with a sinister grin.

”An excellent idea!” Meng Yinwan laughed, took out her phone, and called Kristina. She first explained why she hadn’t picked her up at the airport, then asked for Kristina’s location before getting to the point. ”Kristina, my covert investigation revealed that the Envoy sent by the three Arbiter Families to preside over the Mist Chant Martial Meeting has been killed. The man who killed him is Ye Xiu, the Medicine King of Xuanse.”

After hanging up, Meng Yinwan’s face was suffused with the thrill of impending revenge.

On his way down the mountain, Ye Xiu received a recording from You Ming. It was the conversation between Meng Yinwan and Kristina.

”The martial world is a treacherous place, and people’s hearts are sinister.” A cold smirk touched the corners of Ye Xiu’s mouth.

In truth, Ye Xiu hadn’t exchanged contact information with Meng Yinwan with any real expectation that she could get the location of the three Arbiter Families from Kristina. Her chances of success were simply too low. If small-time figures like Pusang and his men already knew she was an undercover agent, such a sloppy operation had no hope of fooling the Arbiter Families... Heh.

It was entirely possible Kristina had known Meng Yinwan’s identity all along. The only reasons she hadn’t exposed her were likely: first, Kristina was no match for Meng Yinwan in a fight; second, she was using Meng Yinwan as bait to catch a bigger fish; and third, as long as Meng Yinwan’s cover wasn’t blown, Kristina herself was safe.

”Still, I need to confirm this secret from Pusang as soon as possible—that the three Arbiter Families plan to massacre all First and Second Realm War Gods during the Mist Chant Martial Meeting,” Ye Xiu muttered to himself.

”Don’t you like this casino?” Sun Shixin glanced over from the driver’s seat of his Ferrari at Kristina, who had just hung up her phone in the passenger seat. He knew that Kristina, the Black Guard, loved gambling as much as he did. He was surprised she had only taken a brief tour of the casino before coming back out.

”I suddenly don’t feel like gambling,” Kristina said, her face expressionless. In reality, she had gone to the casino looking for Meng Yinwan. She then asked Sun Shixin, ”Do you know Ye Xiu, the Medicine King of Xuanse?”

Sun Shixin was stunned for a moment, wondering why she would bring up Ye Xiu. Of course, he couldn’t admit to not knowing him. After all, Ye Xiu’s name was known across the globe, and he was the number one celebrity in the country. Being connected to Ye Xiu would surely make Kristina see him in a new light.

”Of course I know him. Not only that, we’re actually very good friends,” Sun Shixin bragged.

”Tell me what you know about him,” Kristina said.

She’s testing me... Sun Shixin thought, but he proceeded to reel off all the publicly known information about Ye Xiu. After finishing his summary, which any citizen would know, he sighed dramatically.

”When I first met Ye Xiu abroad ten years ago, he was no better than a beggar. No food, no place to sleep... just a beggar. I felt sorry for him, so I bought him a meal, got him new clothes, and even rented him a place to live. We’ve been friends ever since.

”It’s no exaggeration to say that if I hadn’t looked after him during his ten years in exile, he would have died long ago. You could say I saved his life.”

Kristina quietly listened to Sun Shixin’s ridiculous boasting. When he finally finished, she said, ”Arrange it. I want to meet him.”

Huh? Damn it, I was just bragging. I don’t even know Ye Xiu, so how am I supposed to arrange this? But I have to keep up the act now that I’ve started.

”No problem,” Sun Shixin agreed readily and took out his phone. ”Make the arrangements. I’m throwing a party tonight. Invite everyone from the sponsor teams in Yunluo City. Make sure Ye Xiu is there—he must come. As for everyone else, you can decide.”

Sun Shixin hung up, secretly congratulating himself on his genius idea. Inviting Ye Xiu to a party was brilliant. This would not only back up his boasts but also convince Kristina that he and Ye Xiu were truly close. Moreover, he could use the party to get acquainted with Ye Xiu himself. Three birds with one stone!

Just as Sun Shixin was about to continue boasting, he turned to Kristina and caught a glimpse of a Land Rover speeding past the passenger-side window.

”It’s that bastard!” Sun Shixin recognized Ye Xiu’s car at once. It was easy to identify, since the front end he’d smashed with his Mercedes still hadn’t been repaired. ”I’ll finish you this time for sure!”

Sun Shixin floored the accelerator and tailed Ye Xiu’s car. He wanted to find out where Ye Xiu lived so he could find someone to teach him a lesson. However, he froze when he saw the Land Rover turn into the Yunluo Mansion complex. That bastard actually lives in the same complex as me?

”Gather people immediately and get them to Yunluo Mansion! The more the better, hurry!” Sun Shixin barked into his phone. He continued to follow Ye Xiu until the Land Rover parked, confirming which house was his. Then, a cruel, cold smile spread across his face.
