Medical and Martial God

News that Ye Xiu had become the Chairman of a Global Commerce Association spread among the Official Families of all nations that very night, triggering a catastrophic level of panic.

The kings of every nation immediately convened over video links, holding a global conference to discuss how to deal with the ticking time bomb that was the Global Commerce Association.

Their instincts were sharp and their vision was far-sighted. They were all too aware of the lethal potential of the Global Commerce Association, a behemoth that could easily destroy a nation’s economy. No country would allow such a ticking time bomb to exist.

”The Global Commerce Association was established through its sponsor teams and is backed by the three Judicator Families. We cannot act rashly for now.”

”I propose that three months from now, after the Mist Chant Martial Meeting ends, we use our national power to pressure the members from our own countries, forcing them to withdraw from the association.”

”Applying pressure might provoke resistance from the Global Commerce Association. That’s not a good idea.”

”I suggest we secretly assassinate Ye Xiu, the Chairman of the Global Commerce Association, after the Mist Chant Martial Meeting. This would serve as a deterrent to the other members, reminding them to disband on their own. Otherwise, they will end up just like him.”

”That’s a good suggestion.”

”I agree!”

”I agree as well.”

Just as the kings were agreeing to assassinate Ye Xiu after the Mist Chant Martial Meeting, the King of the Xuanse Nation yawned. ”Ye Xiu is Huang Quan.”

The conference fell into a deathly silence, and total despair set in.

Assassinate Huang Quan? Heh, what were they thinking? Who would dare? Who could possibly succeed? That was courting death.

The faces of all the kings revealed their utter helplessness.

...

And so, the global conference ended hastily, with much noise but little result.

Just as Ye Xiu returned home with Tang Bo and Dong Fangbai, he received a phone call from Qing Luan.

”Um, I heard you were elected Chairman of the Global Commerce Association? Congratulations, congratulations, hehe...”

”Is it cold where you are? Why are you shivering?” Ye Xiu detected the panic in Qing Luan’s voice and chuckled. ”I was just about to look for you. I have a trillion-dollar mega-project that needs your attention.”

”Tell me, please!” Qing Luan responded eagerly.

Ye Xiu organized his thoughts before speaking. ”I’ve raised 78.89 billion from the Global Commerce Association. Additionally, the six great families of the Long Family Alliance are willing to donate half of their assets, which I estimate to be around eight or nine hundred billion. I plan to use these two funds for the development of the Nanjing Mountain of Wealth. I want you to manage it; you’ll be more efficient.”

On the other end of the line, Qing Luan was left breathless.

Her voice trembled as she asked, ”What... what should I do?”

”First, the 78.89 billion must be spent on the preliminary preparations for the Mist Chant Martial Meeting. It has to be done quickly, completed within two and a half months...” Ye Xiu then explained his vision for the preliminary work in detail. ”As for how to use the rest of the money, I’ll have someone contact you.”

Qing Luan was shocked. ”Such a massive project... Two and a half months is too short. It’s impossible to complete it in that timeframe.”

”In this world, there’s nothing money can’t solve,” Ye Xiu said with a smile. ”Hire more people at ten times the normal salary. We can use this as an opportunity for the local construction workers to make a fortune. The bottom line is, it must be completed within two and a half months. Spend the entire 78.89 billion, down to the last penny. And remember, don’t delay the wage payments.”

”Alright,” Qing Luan agreed.

After hanging up, Qing Luan immediately reported Huang Quan’s orders to her superiors. The high-level officials, who had been suffering from insomnia, were delighted by the news and issued their orders at once.

That very night, a national mobilization began. They were told not to worry about the cost; Huang Quan was covering all expenses!

And just like that, everything was ready overnight.

If the kings of the world could have witnessed this operation, their jaws would have hit the floor. Such speed, such power of mobilization, and such coordination—only the Xuanse Nation could achieve such a feat.

...

「The next morning.」

At Ye Tianming’s house, the nanny had brought breakfast. But Ye Tianming and all the Ye Family members had no appetite at all. Since returning from the airport last night, they had remained in the courtyard of Ye Tianming’s house, without eating, drinking, sleeping, or speaking. The shadow of death made them breathe cautiously.

”Oh, everyone’s up so early!”

At that moment, a mocking voice came from the doorway. Ye Tianming and the other family members snapped their heads up, scrambling to their feet in terror.

Ye Xiu walked in, carrying the Slaughter City Blade.

”Ye Xiu, what... what are you going to do?” Ye Tianming cried out in terror.

Ye Xiu didn’t answer. He grabbed a stool, sat down at the stone table in the courtyard, and began to eat the breakfast the nanny had bought. He ate very slowly, chewing each bite deliberately. But the more calmly he ate, the more torturous the wait became for the Ye Family.

”Ye Xiu, we’re all your family! Slaughtering your own kin will condemn you to the eighteenth level of Hell, never to be reborn,” Ye Tianming said, his voice laced with panic.

WHOOSH!

Ye Xiu drew the Slaughter City Blade and thrust it into the ground. ”Don’t you know you’re not supposed to talk while eating?”

Ye Tianming immediately fell silent. He and the rest of the Ye Family stared in terror and despair at the Slaughter City Blade. Is he planning to kill us after he finishes eating? At that thought, they all began to tremble. Death was terrifying, but waiting for it was even worse.

”I’m full,” Ye Xiu announced, standing up with his blade in hand after finishing a few steamed buns and a bowl of fried liver.

The hearts of Ye Tianming and the Ye Family members pounded furiously in their chests. They were drenched in a cold sweat, and their hearts constricted with absolute terror.

”Now that I’ve had my fill, I suddenly don’t feel like killing anyone,” Ye Xiu said, sheathing the Slaughter City Blade. ”You can all cripple your Martial Arts.”

”What?” Ye Tianming was stunned.

”Cripple your Martial Arts, or die!” Ye Xiu glared.

”Yes, yes, yes!”

The Ye Family members hurriedly crippled their Martial Arts.

Seeing this, Ye Xiu nodded in satisfaction and left with his blade. He hadn’t come to kill them, just to give them a good scare.

Outside, he got into a McLaren. ”Take me back.”

”Right, right!” Wang Chaoyang quickly started the car.

”I killed your grandfather. The Wang Family must all want to flay me alive, right?” Ye Xiu asked casually.

Wang Chaoyang shuddered, nearly driving the car into a ditch. ”No, no! Grandfather brought his fate upon himself. The other members of the Wang Family and I don’t wish to be your enemies.”

Ye Xiu grunted in acknowledgment. ”Go back and tell everyone in the Wang Family that from today on, you are the family head. I hope you don’t follow in your grandfather’s footsteps.”

”I won’t, absolutely not! From now on, the Wang Family will follow your lead. I will take the family wherever you direct!” Wang Chaoyang hastily declared.

Ye Xiu nodded in satisfaction. Subduing was often more difficult than killing. He believed that after everything that had happened, including the death of Wang Yue, the Wang Family would be exceedingly loyal to him in the future.

...

When Ye Xiu returned home, Qin Qing, Chloe, An Dongye, Tang Bo, Dong Fangbai, and Ye Liuyun were in the middle of a chaotic sparring session. The Ghost Doctor, Jiang Hai, and Jiang He stood to the side, enjoying the show.

”Master, I’ve brought Jiang Hai and Jiang He,” the Ghost Doctor reported upon seeing Ye Xiu. ”Also, Jiang Yuan’s sister, Jiang Yao, and her lineage have finished their free medical services in Jin Ye City. They are now searching all over Jin Ye City for your family.”

Ye Xiu nodded. ”How many with the Jiang surname are in Jiang Yao’s lineage?”

”Seventeen,” the Ghost Doctor replied.

That meant seventeen people with the Medicine King Valley Totem. Adding Jiang Hai and Jiang He made nineteen.

Ye Xiu pondered for a moment before saying, ”Imprison those seventeen. Cripple the Martial Prowess of all the others. Then send all of them, along with Jiang Hai and Jiang He, to Xipoloya.”

With that, he gestured for Ye Liuyun and Tang Bo to follow him into the villa with Jiang Hai and Jiang He.

After transferring the Totem power from Jiang Hai and Jiang He to Ye Liuyun and Tang Bo, Ye Liuyun spoke up hesitantly.

”Big Brother, um...”

Ye Xiu chuckled. ”Just say what’s on your mind.”

”Well, I’ve been stifled in the Ye Family for twenty-one years. I’ve never been anywhere. I’d like to go out on my own for a while, to gain some experience and see the world,” Ye Liuyun said meekly, looking at Ye Xiu with an expectant expression, terrified he might refuse.
