Medical and Martial God

Ye Xiu was instructing An Dongye in martial arts.

Wang Chaoyang called, ”Divine Doctor Ye, my grandfather, Long Tianba, and Ye Tianming have agreed. Where should we meet you?”

”Good. I’ll send you the address.”

Ye Xiu ended the call, sent the address to Wang Chaoyang, and a cold smile touched the corners of his mouth.

At that moment, An Dongye finished practicing her leg techniques. She asked proudly, ”Little brother, how are my Leg Techniques? Aren’t they becoming more and more perfect?”

Ye Xiu pondered for three seconds before commenting, ”You haven’t practiced an Ancestral Technique like the Dongfang Family or the other Totem Inheritors. Instead, you’ve always walked your own creative path. That’s very good. Your future potential will be far greater than that of other Totem Inheritors.”

At this point, Ye Xiu’s tone shifted. ”However, Cuihua, your thinking is skewed. The Dongfang Family’s Totem enhances both power and speed, but the leg techniques you’ve created only pursue speed and variation. You’ve completely neglected power. That won’t do. You’re squandering your natural talent.”

An Dongye disagreed. ”If I incorporate power, my leg techniques will become clumsy and slow. They won’t look cool anymore!”

”Who said that power has to make your moves clumsy or reduce your speed?” Ye Xiu asked.

An Dongye was taken aback. ”It doesn’t?”

”You can make your moves erupt with power the instant you strike your opponent,” Ye Xiu pointed out.

An Dongye fell into deep thought. This was a concept she had never considered. Nearly everyone in the Dongfang Family was obsessed with a brute-force fighting style that relied on the Totem’s power, using speed only to escape. The idea Ye Xiu mentioned, of erupting with power at the moment of impact, was novel.

She asked, ”Then how can my leg techniques suddenly erupt with power right before hitting an enemy? I haven’t even awakened my Totem yet.”

”Come, I’ll teach you...”

Ye Xiu explained the trick in detail, dissecting the technique for An Dongye. After listening, An Dongye was silent for nearly half an hour before she began to practice it over and over again. A serious An Dongye was a true top-tier beauty.

Just then, a girl ran in, panting heavily. ”Brother... Brother, quick! You have to run! Grandpa... they’re going to kill you.”

Ye Xiu, Qin Qing, Chloe, and An Dongye stared dumbfounded at the girl who had appeared so suddenly. She was about seventeen or eighteen years old, with her hair in a ponytail and exceptionally striking features, her beauty on par with Qin Qing, Chloe, and An Dongye. She wore a loose, white cartoon T-shirt over what looked like denim shorts, which were mostly hidden by the oversized shirt. Her two slender legs were straight, long, and as fair as jade. At a little over 160 centimeters tall, she had a very slim build, likely because she was still young and hadn’t fully developed.

She had a cute demeanor, especially her large, sparkling eyes that shone with naivety and innocence.

Ye Xiu frowned. ”Ye Lin’er?”

Ye Lin’er was his half-sister—the daughter of Ye Zhong and Zheng Yiwen, and Ye Xuan’s sister.

”What are you doing here?” he asked.

Ye Lin’er seemed to have run all the way, and she said between gasps, ”I went to the hospital to see Grandpa Wang and overheard Grandpa talking with Grandpa Long. They’re saying they’re coming to beg for your help, but in reality, they’ve already gathered experts. They plan to capture you and force you to treat Grandpa Wang. Once you’ve cured him, they’ll kill you.”

This was all within Ye Xiu’s expectations, so it came as no surprise. He was more curious about something else. ”You’re a member of the Ye Family, and you know I intend to get revenge on the Ye Family. What do you mean by running here to tip me off?”

”Oh, don’t ask about that now! Just hurry up and escape!” Ye Lin’er stomped her foot in desperation.

Ye Xiu squinted, studying her. Her anxiousness did not seem feigned. ”Answer my question first,” he insisted.

”Just escape first! Once you’ve made it through this, I’ll tell you then, okay?” Ye Lin’er was on the verge of tears from anxiety.

”I knew they would do this long ago, and I’ve already prepared. There’s no need to run,” Ye Xiu replied.

Ye Lin’er let out a long sigh of relief. ”Oh, then I’ll be going!” She turned to leave.

”Wait!” Ye Xiu called out. ”Answer my question before you go.”

”I don’t have time! Grandpa and the others will be here soon. If he sees me tipping you off, he’ll beat me,” Ye Lin’er said before running off.

Ye Xiu, Qin Qing, An Dongye, and Chloe looked at each other, nonplussed.

Qin Qing said, puzzled, ”Although you didn’t kill Zheng Yiwen, she died because of you. As Zheng Yiwen’s daughter, Ye Lin’er should be one of the people in the Ye Family who hates you the most. She has no reason to come and warn you.”

Chloe speculated, ”Could there be a friendly faction within the Ye Family?”

”There is one decent person in the Ye Family. He’s Ye Liuyun, the illegitimate son of Ye Tianming’s third son, Ye Wenxuan. He’s very much disdained in the family. When I was brought back to the Ye Family ten years ago, he was the only one who was kind to me, probably out of a shared sense of misery. When I was cast out of the Ye Family again, Ye Liuyun even secretly gave me his piggy bank.”

Aside from Qin Qing, Ye Liuyun was the only person who made Ye Xiu feel even a shred of kinship. He continued, ”As for Ye Lin’er, I don’t know her, but she has no reason to be friendly to me.”

Qin Qing narrowed her eyes. ”Could Ye Lin’er have been deliberately sent by Ye Tianming as a way to show his goodwill?”

”I don’t know,” Ye Xiu shook his head.

Just then, the sound of many approaching footsteps broke the silence. The next moment, the Dragon Lord and Ye Tianming walked in.

”Ye Xiu, you really are here,” the Dragon Lord said with a smile, scanning the area to ensure there were no ambushes.

Ye Tianming also smiled and shouted, ”Come on in!”

Instantly, Long Yi through Long Liu from the Long Family Alliance rushed in, all wielding swords.

”I didn’t invite you six. And where are the others from the Wang, Long, and Ye Families?” Ye Xiu asked, looking at the six brothers.

”Hahahaha...” Ye Tianming burst into laughter. ”Ye Xiu, did you really think we came here to kowtow to you?”

The Dragon Lord and the six Long warriors also began to laugh.

”What’s the meaning of this?” Ye Xiu asked.

Ye Tianming’s expression turned cold. ”It’s simple. We’re here to capture you and make you treat Wang Yue.”

So, Ye Lin’er wasn’t sent by Ye Tianming as an olive branch after all. Ye Xiu was now certain.

”Enough talk!” the Dragon Lord ordered impatiently, worried that any delay could lead to complications. ”Ye Tianming, you, Long Yi, and Long Er will tie up those three women. The rest of us will attack Ye Xiu together. Move!”

Instantly, Ye Tianming and the six Long warriors drew their weapons, ready to strike.

Just then, a voice rang out that made the Dragon Lord’s expression change drastically. ”What a lively scene.”

The Dragon Lord, Ye Tianming, and the six Long warriors all turned their heads toward the entrance to see Bai Shan Jun and Gu Mufeng walking in.

”Who are you? Are you here looking to die?” Ye Tianming asked harshly. He and the Long warriors did not recognize the newcomers.

”That’s Bai Shan Jun, the Valley Master of Medicine King Valley, and Gu Mufeng, the leader of its Neutral Faction,” the Dragon Lord introduced them, his face turning deathly pale. He then asked, ”Bai Shan Jun, Gu Mufeng, what are you doing here?”

Ye Tianming and the six Long warriors’ faces fell. Bai Shan Jun and Gu Mufeng were both Totem Inheritors. If they were here to help Ye Xiu, they would be in serious trouble.

Bai Shan Jun and Gu Mufeng ignored the Dragon Lord. They walked up to Ye Xiu and knelt on one knee.

”These disciples greet you, Master!”
