Medical and Martial God

”Who? Big Brother?”

Ye Liuyun’s thoughts were in a turmoil, his mind momentarily short-circuiting. ”No, Master, wait. You call Big Brother ’Young Master’? And you said he ’sent’ you to get Ling’er and me? What’s your relationship with him? And how did he know Ling’er and I were planning to leave the Ye Family?”

Ye Lin’er, Ye Tianming, and the others were also thrown into confusion; the information contained in the middle-aged man’s words was just too overwhelming.

”It’s time to tell you the truth.” The middle-aged man, Xuan Ce, smiled and asked, ”Do you remember being captured by human traffickers and taken to Red Blood Country nine years ago?”

”I remember!” Ye Liuyun nodded.

Nine years ago, on his way to school, a van had suddenly stopped beside him. Two men rushed out, grabbed him, and threw him inside. When he woke up, he was already in Red Blood Country. He was later rescued by Xuan Ce, who brought him back to Yunluo City and accepted him as his disciple.

”All of this was arranged by the Young Master,” Xuan Ce said with a smile. ”It was the Young Master who had people take you to Red Blood Country. While you were unconscious, he personally performed the Cleansing Essence and Marrow on you. Then, he ordered me to rescue you, bring you back to Yunluo City, take you as my disciple, teach you Cultivation, and secretly protect you.”

Ye Liuyun felt as if he had been struck by lightning, tears instantly streaming down his face.

”No wonder my physique underwent such a drastic change after I returned from Red Blood Country. It was like I had an epiphany overnight, transforming from a good-for-nothing into a genius,” he stammered. ”No wonder a peerless master like you would take me as a disciple and stand by my side unwaveringly for nine years.

”So, it was all arranged by Big Brother. For ten years, I thought he had forgotten about me, but it turns out he’s been watching over me this entire time.”

In his twenty-one years of life, Ye Liuyun felt the warmth of kinship and the care of his family for the very first time.

He wiped away his tears and asked, ”Master, why are you only telling me this now?”

”The Young Master placed a gag order on me.” Xuan Ce’s expression suddenly turned serious. ”Ten years ago, when you called him ’Big Brother,’ you touched him deeply. But people change, especially in a scheming family like the Ye Family. If, over these past nine years, you had become like Ye Xuan and the others, if you had ultimately chosen to join the Ye Family against the Young Master, your fate would have been the same as theirs. The Young Master would have shown you no mercy.

”Fortunately, the Ye Family treated you like a dog, and you heeded my advice to bide your time until now. Your character hasn’t been corrupted by them, and the Young Master is very pleased!”

So that’s how it was! These nine years were Big Brother’s test for me!

Wiping away his tears, Ye Liuyun’s face lit with realization. ”Master, let’s go. Take Ling’er and me to find Big Brother.”

”Since the Young Master has acknowledged you, you are now my master. You should no longer call me ’Master’,” Xuan Ce said.

”No. Once a teacher, forever a father. You will always be my master, Ye Liuyun’s master,” he declared firmly.

Xuan Ce smiled, pleased. ”Good child. Let’s go!”

The Ye Family members watched as Xuan Ce led Ye Liuyun and Ye Lin’er away. They didn’t try to stop them—not that they could have. How could they? They couldn’t even defeat Ye Liuyun, let alone Xuan Ce, who was clearly much stronger.

”Ye Xiu is truly a monster,” Ye Zhong said, scratching his head in annoyance and regret. ”In nine years, he managed to remotely cultivate that piece of trash, Ye Liuyun, into an expert beyond the War God level. If we hadn’t expelled him from the family back then, wouldn’t the Ye Family now have a whole group of experts at that level?”

”It’s too late for that now!” Ye Tianming’s eyes glinted viciously as he spat, ”Ye Xiu must die. His monstrous talent is the Ye Family’s despair.”

Just as he finished speaking, his phone suddenly rang. It was Wang Yue. After taking the call, Ye Tianming’s face lit up with ecstatic joy.

”Grandfather, what’s the good news?” Ye Xuan asked.

”The Envoys from the three great Judicator Families are going to make their move on Ye Xiu. Wang Yue invited me to watch the show,” Ye Tianming said with a wide smile.

The rest of the Ye Family were instantly overjoyed.

Ye Xiu was finally going to die!

When Xuan Ce arrived at Ye Xiu’s home with Ye Liuyun and Ye Lin’er, Ye Xiu was sparring with Qin Qing. Nearby, An Dongye was engrossed in practicing her Leg Techniques, while a bored Chloe played games on her phone.

”Big Brother!”

”Big Brother!”

The moment they saw Ye Xiu, both Ye Liuyun’s and Ye Lin’er’s eyes welled with tears.

Ye Xiu and Qin Qing stopped immediately.

”You’re here!” Ye Xiu smiled and nodded.

Still carrying Ye Lin’er on his back, Ye Liuyun rushed forward and gave Ye Xiu a fierce bear hug. Though he was a tall man of 1.8 meters, he was crying like a child. Ye Lin’er was even more dramatic, wailing loudly.

”Hey, where are you wiping those tears and snot?” Ye Xiu teased with a laugh. He wasn’t used to such displays and didn’t really know how to express familial affection.

”I’m just so happy...” Blushing, Ye Liuyun released Ye Xiu and scratched his head with a silly grin before sniffing loudly and swallowing.

The sight grossed Ye Xiu out. He said, ”Chloe, take them inside to wash up. While you’re at it, treat Ye Lin’er’s injuries.”

Possessing the Medicine King Valley Totem, Chloe had become quite the little healer.

”Please, follow me,” Chloe said kindly.

Ye Liuyun quickly carried Ye Lin’er and followed Chloe into the villa.

Only then did Ye Xiu turn to Xuan Ce, a look of satisfaction on his face. ”Xuan Ce, you’ve worked hard these nine years.”

Dropping to one knee, Xuan Ce replied, ”It is my honor to serve the Young Master. It was no hardship at all!”

”Stand up.” Ye Xiu nodded, pleased, then took out a Marrow Cleansing Pill. ”This is for you, a reward for your nine years of hard work.”

”Thank you for the reward, Young Master!” Having just stood, Xuan Ce immediately knelt on one knee again, his face flushing with excitement.

To trade nine years for a Marrow Cleansing Pill, to gain a disciple who is the brother of Huang Quan himself, and to earn Huang Quan’s satisfaction... this was an incredible bargain!

”Go home and see your parents, your wife, and your children. They all miss you,” Ye Xiu said, helping Xuan Ce to his feet.

”Yes!” Holding the Marrow Cleansing Pill, Xuan Ce immediately ran off. For nine years, he had missed his family every single moment. Today, he could finally go home.

”Big Brother!” Just then, Ye Liuyun ran back out, his face clean. ”I forgot to tell you something! According to Grandf— I mean, Ye Tianming, the Envoys from the three major Judicator Families have decided to kill you. We should get out of here, quickly!”

What?

The faces of Ye Xiu, Qin Qing, and An Dongye changed instantly.

”Are you sure?” Ye Xiu asked.

”Ye Tianming was extremely confident when he said it. I think Wang Yue must have told the Envoys something that made them decide to kill you,” Ye Liuyun said.

That damn Wang Yue... he’s courting death!

Ye Xiu was furious. He truly didn’t want to make enemies of the three major Judicator Families; he knew far too little about them.

Know the enemy and know yourself, and you can fight a hundred battles without defeat. To rush into battle without understanding the enemy’s true strength is foolish. But now... it seems a fight is unavoidable!

”Should we hide for a while?” Qin Qing asked.

”The word ’hide’ isn’t in my dictionary,” Ye Xiu said proudly. ”Besides, there’s nowhere to run. Even if we evade the Envoys, we can’t avoid facing the three major Judicator Families at the Mist Chant Martial Meeting.”

Qin Qing, An Dongye, and Ye Liuyun fell silent.

Just then, the screech of two cars braking sharply cut through the air.

Ye Xiu, Qin Qing, Ye Liuyun, and An Dongye exchanged glances, all thinking the same thing: they had arrived with startling speed.
