Medical and Martial God

Ye Xiu’s heart trembled. What an innocent and kindhearted girl! Incredible! How did Ye Lin’er manage to maintain her purity in a family as treacherous and scheming as the Ye Family?

He asked, ”I’m the enemy who killed your mother. Don’t you hate me?”

”My maternal grandpa and grandma said that my mother was a bad woman and that she deserved to die,” Ye Lin’er replied.

Her maternal grandparents? Zheng Yiwen’s parents?

”When did your maternal grandparents tell you that Zheng Yiwen was a bad woman and that she deserved to die?” Ye Xiu inquired.

Ye Lin’er thought for a moment and said, ”I was raised by my maternal grandparents. Ever since I was old enough to understand, the people around me would point fingers and gossip. My classmates bullied me, refused to play with me, and called my mother a cheap woman, a gold-digger, a mistress, things like that.

”On my seventh birthday, my mother brought me back to the Ye Family to celebrate. When she took me back to my maternal grandparents’ house, Grandpa slapped her and disowned her. Then, he burned all of my mother’s photographs and belongings. After that, I never saw my mother again.

”It was then that my maternal grandparents warned me not to become a woman like my mother when I grew up, saying such women come to a terrible end.

”When my maternal grandparents found out my mother had died, Grandpa said it served her right and that the world was rid of one less scourge...”

Listening to Ye Lin’er’s account, Ye Xiu finally understood why she was so innocent; it was because she hadn’t grown up in the Ye Family. Ye Lin’er was now seventeen, so her seventh birthday was ten years ago. Back then, he had been in the Ye Family, and the time he saw her must have been on her birthday. Just a few days later, he was framed.

It was precisely at that time that Ye Lin’er’s maternal grandparents chose to sever their ties with Zheng Yiwen. It seems that they already knew she was the one who framed me. Judging from Ye Lin’er’s account, her grandparents are quite upright people!

”Brother, you killed my mother, but I won’t seek revenge against you. Please, can you not seek revenge on the Ye Family, okay?” Ye Lin’er asked, looking at Ye Xiu with hopeful eyes.

”I didn’t kill your mother. Dragon Hollyhock and Long Bo did!” Ye Xiu stated.

Ye Lin’er’s large, pretty eyes widened in disbelief. ”What... Really? Why would they kill my mother?”

”Because the true mastermind who framed me ten years ago was the Long Family,” Ye Xiu explained. ”Your mother was merely their pawn. They were afraid I would follow the clues and learn about their involvement from your mother, so they killed her to silence her.”

”The Long Family you mentioned, Brother, is that the same one from the sponsors’ team?” Ye Lin’er asked.

Ye Xiu nodded.

Upon getting her answer, Ye Lin’er turned and ran. She no longer cared about persuading Ye Xiu to give up his revenge on the Ye Family. She had to rush back and tell her grandfather this secret, so he could guard against the Long Family and, at the same time, avenge her mother.

「In Ye Tianming’s small courtyard」

With the exception of Ye Shaokang, whom Ye Tianming had sent to contact those who attended the ”Ye Xiu’s address” auction and the nation’s billionaires, and Ye Lin’er, everyone else from the Ye Family was present. A large stove sat in the yard. Ye Liuyun was busy stewing meat, and the aroma from the large, wood-fired pot was especially fragrant.

”In less than three days, Ye Xiu will be dead. Let’s celebrate a little early today at lunch!” Ye Tianming said leisurely, fanning himself with a palm-leaf fan from his lounge chair, his mood exceptionally bright.

”Grandpa, are you sure about that?” Ye Xuan asked.

The rest of the Ye Family didn’t quite believe him. They had suffered too many losses at Ye Xiu’s hands to even dare dream of the day he would die.

”This time, the Envoys of the three great Judicator Families are taking action. Do you think Ye Xiu has any chance of survival?” Ye Tianming asked with a smile.

”Are the Envoys from the three great Judicator Families that strong?” Ye Xuan asked.

Ye Liuyun, who was tending the fire, looked over with a solemn expression.

”The Envoy once told Wang Yue that as long as the three great Judicator Families stay out of it, he is Invincible in this world,” Ye Tianming stated with absolute confidence.

The Ye Family’s eyes lit up. Invincible in this world? Doesn’t that mean even Huang Quan isn’t the Envoy’s match? Ye Xiu is doomed!

Ye Liuyun’s heart clenched with anxiety. I have to tell Big Brother this terrible news right away! But I don’t have his phone number, and I can’t leave here without permission. What should I do?

”Grandpa...”

Just then, Ye Lin’er ran in, her face streaked with tears.

The members of the Ye Family collectively frowned.

Ye Zhong scolded her, ”You have no respect for your elders! Didn’t your maternal grandparents teach you any manners? And why are you crying like that? If an outsider saw you, would the Ye Family have any dignity left?”

Ignoring her father, Ye Zhong, Ye Lin’er ran up to Ye Tianming and asked indignantly, ”Grandpa, it turns out Mom was killed by the Long Family! You have to avenge her!”

The Ye Family members were stunned.

Ye Tianming asked, ”Who told you that?”

”Brother told me,” Ye Lin’er said.

Sitting in his wheelchair, Ye Xuan was completely bewildered. ”When did I tell you that?” he asked. After the Ye Family disowned Ye Xiu, Ye Xuan had become the head of the third generation.

”Not you. It was Brother Ye Xiu,” Ye Lin’er clarified.

”Insolence!” Ye Tianming roared, standing up abruptly. ”Who gave you permission to call Ye Xiu ’Brother’? How many times have I told you? Ye Xiu is a bastard, a mongrel born from his mother and some wild man! He is not one of us! The head of the Ye Family’s third generation is Ye Xuan!”

His voice was a thunderous, snarling roar that frightened Ye Lin’er into silence.

”Ling’er, apologize to Grandpa this instant!” Ye Xuan chided, ”How can you believe the words of someone like Ye Xiu? He’s using you to drive a wedge between the Ye and Long Families. He wants to incite infighting among the sponsors so he can swoop in and reap the benefits.”

Ye Lin’er lowered her head and said nothing. She had no intention of apologizing; she believed her brother hadn’t lied to her.

Ye Tianming commanded imperiously, ”What exactly did Ye Xiu say? Tell me everything, and don’t leave out a single word.” He had always assumed Ye Xiu was the one who killed Zheng Yiwen.

”Brother said Mom was killed by Dragon Hollyhock and Long Bo,” Ye Lin’er recounted. ”They were afraid he would follow the trail back to them and find out the Long Family was the true mastermind behind framing him ten years ago, so they killed her to silence her.”

SLAP!

Ye Tianming slapped Ye Lin’er across the face, raging, ”You still dare to call that bastard ’Brother’?”

Untrained in martial arts, Ye Lin’er was delicate. The force of the slap sent her toppling to the ground.

Ye Liuyun quickly ran over and helped her up. ”Grandpa, Ling’er is just a child,” he said. ”She doesn’t know any better.”

SLAP!

Ye Tianming raised his hand and slapped Ye Liuyun. ”You have no right to speak here, you waste!” he berated. ”Go back to tending the fire.”

Covering his stinging cheek, Ye Liuyun shuffled back to the fire like a browbeaten wife.

”Dad, do you think there’s any credibility to what Ye Xiu said?” asked Ye Zhong from his wheelchair.
