Medical and Martial God

”Second, as long as your identity as an Undercover Agent remains secret, the people behind you won’t harm Kristina. Your very existence is her greatest guarantee of safety.

”Third, she’s keeping you around to lure out the people behind you, or perhaps to probe your plans against the three major Arbiters.”

Qin Qing and the others finally understood why Kristina had suddenly fled. She was afraid that if Meng Yinwan’s identity were exposed, Meng Yinwan would kill her.

Meng Yinwan mulled over Ye Xiu’s analysis, a cold sweat breaking out across her skin.

He’s right! Ye Xiu is absolutely right! This isn’t a case of me being an undercover agent near Kristina; it’s clearly Kristina who’s been the undercover agent near me. And all this time, she’s been treating me like a tour guide, a bodyguard, and a wallet.

She asked, ”How do you know all this?”

”Because I drink a brain tonic every day. I recommend you buy some, too. It really works wonders,” Ye Xiu teased.

Meng Yinwan lashed out, ”Are you calling me brainless?”

Ye Xiu retorted, ”If you had any brains, you wouldn’t have betrayed me.”

Meng Yinwan was speechless.

At this moment, Envoy Yatie finally caught on. He glared at Meng Yinwan and roared, ”So you’re an enemy of our three major Judicator Families. Die!”

With that, he charged at Meng Yinwan in a rage.

”An ant trying to shake a tree.” With a look of disdain, Meng Yinwan raised a hand and swatted Yatie to death. A Sixth Realm expert killing someone in the Third Realm was ridiculously easy.

”Ye Xiu, let me ask you, do you plan to side with Kristina, or will you join forces with us against the three major Judicator Families?” Meng Yinwan inquired.

”Are you forcing me to make a choice?” Ye Xiu walked right up to her and asked coldly.

Meng Yinwan’s muscles tensed instantly as she remembered she was no match for Ye Xiu. She quickly explained, ”Don’t get me wrong. I just don’t want to be your enemy.”

Ye Xiu snorted. ”That’s for the best. But you and Pusang first toyed with my emotions and then used me. That’s a capital offense. I’ll spare you this once, but if I see you again, you’re dead!”

”You...” Meng Yinwan stared at him furiously, not expecting such a ruthless threat. She then turned and strode away.

Good heavens, as a Sixth Realm War God, when have I ever faced such a threat and humiliation? But I can’t beat him, so I just have to endure it. At that moment, she was filled with regret. Because of her and Pusang’s foolishness, their side had lost a powerful ally in Ye Xiu.

Just then, Nerut and Polenga walked out.

Nerut questioned, ”What do you mean by that, Ye Xiu? Are you saying you’re no longer going to deal with the three major Judicator Families?”

Qin Qing and the others looked at each other, confused. So this guy could speak Xuanse all along. They still had no idea what Ye Xiu, Nerut, and Polenga had discussed inside the villa.

”Watch your tone,” Ye Xiu warned.

”So you were lying to us before,” Nerut snarled, the realization dawning on him.

”Ye Xiu, you’ve already seen the power of the Restorer Alliance. You should know the consequences of messing with us,” Polenga threatened.

Suddenly, Ye Xiu shot his hands out and grabbed Nerut and Polenga by their necks. ”No one knows you were here,” he said coldly, ”and I won’t allow you to spread the secret that the Blood Demon is monitoring the Snow Region Forest. Besides, from the moment you severely wounded the Blood Demon, you were already dead men.”

With that, he snapped their necks.

Only in their dying moments did Nerut and Polenga understand. Ye Xiu and Pusang weren’t brothers at all. The photo Ye Xiu had shown them was purely a ruse to get information out of them. Alas, the realization came too late.

”Blood Demon, you need to go back to the Snow Region.” Ye Xiu turned to the Blood Demon and instructed, ”When you return this time, don’t be reckless or impulsive. The moment you see a large group of people coming out of the Snow Region Forest, call me on the satellite phone immediately.”

”Understood. I’ll leave right away!” Blood Demon nodded and departed.

At this point, An Dongye asked, ”Little brother, aren’t you going to tell us what’s going on with Kristina and Meng Yinwan?”

With Ye Xiu not volunteering the information, she was the only one present who dared to ask him directly.

Ye Xiu explained, ”The Mist Chant Martial Meeting is a trap. The three major Judicator Families plan to use it to annihilate every First and Second Realm War God in the world. The Restorer Alliance behind Meng Yinwan are the mortal enemies of the Judicator Families. Of course, the Restorer Alliance is no good, either.”

He said no more. He was afraid of frightening Qin Qing and the others with too much detail, and he still needed to verify some of the information he’d gotten from Nerut and Polenga.

Qin Qing and the others were stunned. None of them could have imagined that the Mist Chant Martial Meeting was actually a murderous plot.

Qin Qing asked, ”Why would the three major Judicator Families do that?”

”I don’t know.” Ye Xiu shook his head. He genuinely didn’t, and neither had Nerut or Polenga.

”Now that you’ve been exposed to both the Judicator Families and the Restorer Alliance, won’t they pursue you relentlessly?” Qin Qing asked worriedly. The subtext was her concern that these two factions would interfere with Ye Xiu’s revenge.

”Hmph, they’d better know their place. Otherwise, I’ll wipe both of them out,” Ye Xiu said coldly.

”Even if you’re not afraid of them, it will still be very annoying if they keep pestering you,” Qin Qing said. ”It’s time you went to the Dragon Lord and asked him that question. If he dies at the hands of the Judicator Families or the Restorer Alliance, no one will be left who knows the answer.”

Ye Xiu listened, completely baffled. ”What question?”

Qin Qing rolled her eyes at him. ”Have you really never wondered why the Dragon Lord framed you ten years ago?”

THUD!

Ye Xiu felt as if a great hammer had struck his head.

I really haven’t ever thought about that! That’s right! Ten years ago, I had no interactions with the Dragon Lord whatsoever, so why did he suspect my left arm had a dragon-shaped pattern? How did he learn the secret of the dragon-shaped pattern?

”I’m going to find the Dragon Lord right now!” Ye Xiu turned and ran for the car, a sudden realization striking him. The real mastermind might not be the Dragon Lord at all!

Kristina fled the Yunluo Mansion Villa Area, running frantically. Only when she was sure Meng Yinwan wasn’t chasing her did she finally hail a taxi.

All that effort, wasted!

Just as Ye Xiu had said, she had known all along that Meng Yinwan was an undercover agent. Her reasons for not exposing her were exactly the ones he had laid out.

Ye Xiu, you ruined my plan, so I’ll ruin yours.

In Kristina’s eyes, even though Ye Xiu had saved Envoy Yatie and was not an enemy of the three major Judicator Families, his interference with her plan to use Meng Yinwan was unforgivable. She had learned from Sun Shixin that the Ye and Long Families were Ye Xiu’s enemies and that he planned to torment them. Fine. She would just kill every last member of the Ye and Long families. That would be her revenge for him ruining her plans.

”Miss, where are you headed?” the driver asked.

”Just a moment!” Kristina took out her phone and dialed Ye Tianming’s number. As soon as he picked up, she stated, ”I am from the Golden Family, one of the three major Judicator Families. Where are you?”

Ye Tianming was stunned, then ecstatic. ”I’m at home! I’ll send you the address right now!”

”Gather every member of the Long Family and the Ye Family at your place,” Kristina commanded.

”Yes, ma’am!” Ye Tianming replied.
