Medical and Martial God

The moment he spoke, the expressions of the entire Ye Family changed. Including Ye Lin’er, all of them looked at Ye Liuyun in disbelief. They simply couldn’t believe such words had come from his mouth.

Ye Liuyun was the illegitimate son of Ye Wenxuan and a shampoo girl from a salon; his status was utterly disgraceful. Moreover, Ye Liuyun was poor at academics and untalented in martial arts. He was, by all accounts, a good-for-nothing. Compounding this was his cowardly personality.

As a result, Ye Liuyun had a very low standing in the Ye Family. Anyone could bully him, and he never fought back when beaten or talked back when insulted. Day after day, he was ordered around like a servant.

And now, *this* person had actually said such a thing.

”Third Brother, I wasn’t wrong after all. Ye Liuyun truly is rebellious by nature, just as you’d expect from the son of a salon girl,” Ye Zhong said, not missing the opportunity to strike at Ye Wenxuan.

Ye Wenxuan ignored Ye Zhong’s mockery and was about to threaten Ye Liuyun, but instead, he saw Ye Lin’er nodding vehemently.

”Yes, let’s go find Eldest Brother!”

”Pfft...” Ye Wenxuan burst out laughing. ”Eldest Brother, your daughter isn’t much better.”

Ye Zhong was speechless.

”You two are picking a time like this to act like the pot calling the kettle black?” Ye Tianming rebuked.

Ye Zhong and Ye Wenxuan quickly fell silent.

Ye Tianming cast a cold gaze at Ye Liuyun and Ye Lin’er, his voice icy. ”You backstabbing dogs, actually thinking of defecting to the enemy. It seems you no longer wish to live.”

Ye Liuyun paid no attention to Ye Tianming. He bent down, hoisted Ye Lin’er onto his back, and started walking out.

”You’re courting death!”

Ye Tianming, Ye Zhong, Ye Xuan, Ye Wenxuan, Ye Qiu, and Ye Shaokang’s two sons, Ye Chen and Ye Xiang, all roared in unison.

Ye Tianming, Ye Wenxuan, Ye Qiu, Ye Chen, and Ye Xiang leaped up, surrounding Ye Liuyun as he carried Ye Lin’er.

”Ye Liuyun, if you dare take one more step, I will disown you,” Ye Wenxuan threatened.

Ye Liuyun laughed. ”When have you ever treated me as your son?

”If my mother hadn’t made such a scene back then, would you have brought me back to the Ye Family and acknowledged me?

”Since I arrived, have you ever once looked me in the eye?

”When I was beaten, cursed, and humiliated by Ye Xuan, Ye Qiu, Ye Chen, and Ye Xiang, when the Ye Family used me like a pack mule, did you ever stand up for me?

”At every family banquet, did you ever let me sit at the table?

”In this family, I’m just a free servant, treated worse than a pig or a dog.

”And another thing, don’t think for a second I don’t know that you killed my mother.”

The more Ye Liuyun spoke, the angrier he became. By the end, his expression was ferocious, his eyes filled with hatred and the resentment that had built up over years in the Ye Family.

”Even if you argue yourself hoarse, you are still my spawn, and the blood flowing in your veins is mine,” Ye Wenxuan retorted, unmoved by Ye Liuyun’s accusations.

”I consider that a disgrace!” Ye Liuyun replied coldly.

”You...” Ye Wenxuan was so enraged he nearly passed out.

”Alright, alright, Third Brother. Ye Liuyun is determined to defect to Ye Xiu’s side. He must die today. Besides, he’s just an illegitimate son; it’s no great loss to kill him,” Ye Zhong jeered as he wheeled himself over. He then said to Ye Lin’er, ”Ling’er, I’ll give you one last chance. Get off Ye Liuyun’s back and stay with the family. If you do, I can spare your life.”

”There’s nothing in this family worth my loyalty. I would rather die!” Ye Lin’er declared, her face a mask of resolve.

Ye Zhong’s expression changed instantly.

”Good. Very good. Since you’re both so determined to defect, don’t blame me for being heartless.”

Killing intent flared from Ye Tianming as he commanded, ”Ye Wenxuan, kill them!”

”Let me!” Ye Qiu lunged forward, throwing a punch at Ye Liuyun’s head.

”A mere Sixth Grade Martial Artist. Don’t embarrass yourself here,” Ye Liuyun said disdainfully, raising a hand.

Instantly, Ye Qiu was sent flying by a wave of immense energy.

”This...”

Every member of the Ye Family, including Ye Lin’er, stared in utter shock.

”H-How is this possible? When did you acquire such formidable strength?” Ye Tianming asked in astonishment.

Ye Liuyun was the Ye Family’s number one good-for-nothing, a failure in both scholarly and martial pursuits. Yet now, he displayed the power to send a Sixth Grade Martial Artist flying with a mere wave of his hand. It was simply inconceivable.

”You’re the ones who called me a good-for-nothing. When did I ever admit to it?” Ye Liuyun felt an incredible sense of vindication as he declared proudly, ”I have endured in silence for nine years. Today, I can finally lay my cards on the table.”

The Ye Family members exchanged astonished glances.

He endured in silence for nine years?

This good-for-nothing, looked down upon by everyone in the family, had actually been cultivating in secret, patiently biding his time.

For what?

”Do you think you can leave here alive today just because you beat Ye Qiu?” Ye Wenxuan said coldly.

”You can try to stop me. I’ll take this opportunity to test the fruits of my nine years of cultivation on you,” Ye Liuyun declared, his pride soaring.

”Arrogant!” Ye Wenxuan roared, making his move.

”You’re too weak. Send someone stronger!” Ye Liuyun once again waved his hand.

And so, Ye Wenxuan followed in Ye Qiu’s footsteps, sent flying through the air.

”This...”

The Ye Family was shocked once again. Ye Wenxuan was at the Peak of the Great Grandmaster realm, yet he couldn’t even withstand a single move from Ye Liuyun.

”Impressive. To think that you, the one we called a good-for-nothing, are actually the number one genius of our Ye Family,” Ye Tianming said, his eyes narrowed.

”No, I am the second. The number one genius of the Ye Family is my big brother, Ye Xiu,” Ye Liuyun said humbly.

”Good. Then today I will personally act and slaughter you, this ’second genius.’”

Ye Tianming finally made his move. In a flash, he appeared before Ye Liuyun, striking out with a full-force palm strike aimed at his chest. He didn’t even want a prolonged fight; he struck with a killing blow, intending to finish Ye Liuyun in a single move.

”Too slow!”

Ye Liuyun met it with a palm strike of his own. Their palms connected.

BOOM!

Violent energy raged, whipping up a furious wind that knocked everyone nearby to the ground.

Staggering back seven steps, Ye Tianming barely managed to steady himself. He stared in shock at Ye Liuyun, who hadn’t moved an inch, and cried out in disbelief, ”Above War God?”

What? The Ye Family gasped collectively. Ye Liuyun possessed strength above the War God level?

Heavens! Was this still the family’s number one good-for-nothing?

”So the gap between those above the War God level is this great? Or perhaps... am I just that strong?” Ye Liuyun asked, looking down on Ye Tianming with contempt.

Ye Tianming’s brow furrowed, and he ground his teeth in hatred, but he was completely helpless against Ye Liuyun. He was even beginning to feel a pang of regret. If he had known Ye Liuyun was this strong, he never would have cornered him and Ye Lin’er. With a powerhouse like Ye Liuyun in the family, given time, they might have even been able to contend with Ye Xiu.

”Are you done showing off? If you are, then hurry up and come with me.”

Just then, a voice tinged with exasperation came from the doorway. The Ye Family turned toward the sound to see a plain-looking middle-aged man walking in.

Master? Ye Liuyun was taken aback. ”What are you doing here?”

Master? Ye Tianming and the others were astounded. They never knew Ye Liuyun had a master. And if Ye Liuyun was already this strong, his master must be even more formidable.

”The Young Master sent me to fetch you,” the middle-aged man said calmly.

Young Master?

Ye Liuyun and the others were completely baffled. Ye Liuyun asked, ”Master, who is this Young Master you speak of?”

”Ye Xiu,” the middle-aged man replied with a smile.
