Medical and Martial God

At the gates of the villa district where Ye Xiu’s family lived, members of the Ye, Long, and Wang Families had all gathered, numbering over a thousand people.

In truth, Ye Tianming and the Long Clan Leader had brought them along mainly out of concern that the address Ye Xiu gave Wang Chaoyang was fake. Their plan was simple: by bringing all three families, they could react to either possibility. If the address was real, they would capture Ye Xiu alive. If it was fake, Ye Xiu wouldn’t suspect their true intentions because they had shown up with everyone in tow.

”They’ve been in there for so long without coming out. It looks like the address Ye Xiu gave is real,” Long Er said with a smile.

Long San scoffed with contempt. ”Ye Xiu is adorably stupid, actually giving us his real address. If I were him, I would have at least chosen a different place to meet.”

Stretching, Long Si commented, ”Big Brother, Ye Tianming, and the six from the Long Family Alliance—all eight of them are masters above the War God level. There’s no escape for Ye Xiu this time.”

”Once Big Brother captures Ye Xiu, the first thing he must do is restore our martial prowess,” said Long Wu.

”Of course!” Long Er nodded in agreement.

The Wang and Ye Families said nothing. However, anticipation was painted across the faces of the Wang Family members. In their eyes, as long as the Long Clan Leader captured Ye Xiu, Wang Yue wouldn’t die. The Ye Family members maintained expressionless faces, concealing their thoughts.

Ye Lin’er, however, seemed relaxed, her large, expressive eyes reflecting her confidence. Big Brother said he was prepared, so everything will be fine.

Meanwhile, a youth in his early twenties, his eyes filled with worry, could be seen among them. He was Ye Liuyun.

”They’re coming out!” Long Si exclaimed excitedly.

Instantly, more than a thousand people turned to face the gate. They saw Long Yi, Er, San, Si, Wu, and Liu rushing out.

”Tch, it’s over so quickly? I thought Ye Xiu was supposed to be formidable, but I guess he’s nothing special after all!” Long Er laughed.

Long Wu shouted, ”Where are my Big Brother, Ye Tianming, and Ye Xiu?”

”Get ready to plan Long Tianba’s and Ye Tianming’s funerals!” Long Yi retorted before he and the other five men hurried away.

The Long, Ye, and Wang Families were all dumbfounded.

”Big Brother and Ye Tianming fell into Ye Xiu’s hands?” Long Si asked, his expression turning grim.

”It seems Ye Xiu saw through Big Brother’s plan and was already prepared,” one of the men lamented.

”Ye Xiu is too cunning!” another added. ”Big Brother knew he couldn’t outsmart him, but he kept plotting against him anyway. Look where it got him. He’s thrown his life away.”

”Big Brother is the only master above the War God level left in our family. If he dies, our own deaths won’t be far behind.”

”Ye Xiu is truly the Long Family’s nemesis!”

At this moment, all the members of the Long Family were engulfed in a mood of desolation, helplessness, and despair.

The Wang Family grew anxious. Their hopes of convincing Ye Xiu to heal Wang Yue had already been slim. Now that the Long Clan Leader and Ye Tianming had tried to capture Ye Xiu, they had surely offended him completely. Wang Yue was now beyond saving.

A nearly imperceptible smile touched the corners of Ye Liuyun’s mouth before he quickly concealed it. Ye Lin’er’s large, expressive eyes filled with sorrow. She didn’t want anything to happen to Ye Xiu, but she also didn’t want her grandfather, Ye Tianming, to be harmed. As for the rest of the Ye Family, most remained expressionless, but their eyes now mirrored the helplessness and despair of the Long Family. Ye Zhong’s face was incredibly pale. The more outstanding and powerful Ye Xiu became, the more he regretted his past actions toward Ye Xiu and his mother.

”Hey, the Clan Leader and Ye Tianming are coming out,” a member of the Long Family suddenly exclaimed.

Instantly, everyone from the Wang, Ye, and Long Families turned to look, and the same question flashed through all their minds: how did they get out alive?

”Big Brother, why didn’t Ye Xiu kill you?” Long Er asked.

”He’s not done playing with us yet. Why would he be willing to kill us?” the Long Clan Leader said, his face like ice.

The Long Family: ”...”

The Ye Family: ”...”

”Did Ye Xiu agree to heal my grandfather?” Wang Chaoyang asked.

”He’d love nothing more than for Wang Yue to die,” the Long Clan Leader sneered. Scanning the entire Wang Family, he announced, ”Listen carefully. Wang Yue’s death is a certainty. His injury is related to Ye Xiu, and his death will be the result of Ye Xiu refusing to save a dying man. When the three Judicator Families ask, that is what you will tell them.”

On the way out, the Long Clan Leader and Ye Tianming had devised this plan. Even if Ye Xiu was the master of White Mountain Lord and Gu Mufeng, or a member of Medicine King Valley, he wasn’t a Totem Inheritor. The three Judicator Families wouldn’t care too much about him. As long as they could make the Judicator Families believe that the chief sponsor, Wang Yue, died because Ye Xiu refused to save him, the families would have to punish Ye Xiu to uphold their rules.

”No, Grandfather isn’t dead yet! We can’t give up hope!” Wang Chaoyang declared with unprecedented composure. He turned to the Wang Family members and said, ”Follow me. We’re going to plead with Ye Xiu. Even if we have to kowtow until our heads break, we must convince him to save Grandfather.”

The Wang Family members were about to follow Wang Chaoyang to find Ye Xiu.

Just then, the Long Clan Leader interjected, ”Ye Xiu already said that if anyone from the Wang Family dares to go to him for help, he will slaughter every last one of you.”

What?

The faces of the Wang Family members drained of color. They were utterly without hope.

”When did I say that?” a questioning voice drifted over.

SWISH!

Every member of the Long, Ye, and Wang Families whipped their heads toward the source of the voice. They saw Ye Xiu strolling toward them with a cigarette dangling from his lips.

The Long Clan Leader and Ye Tianming cursed inwardly. Did this bastard come here just to slap us in the face?

”Divine Doctor Ye, what do you mean?” Wang Chaoyang asked, his eyes filled with hope.

”Let’s go. Take me to the hospital,” Ye Xiu said with a smile. ”As long as Wang Yue is still breathing, I can have him up and about.”

The Long Clan Leader and Ye Tianming once again felt the sting of a slap to the face. The Long Clan Leader felt it most keenly, as he had just been inciting the Wang Family to blame Ye Xiu for Wang Yue’s death in front of the Judicator Families. And now, Ye Xiu had appeared to voluntarily offer his help!

”Thank you, thank you so much...”

The Wang Family members were overcome with excitement.

”Divine Doctor Ye, please, right this way. I’ll drive you,” Wang Chaoyang said, tears of joy welling in his eyes.

Ye Xiu nodded, gave a subtle nod in Ye Liuyun’s direction, and then followed Wang Chaoyang to the car.

Ye Liuyun’s eyes instantly moistened. After ten years, his big brother still hadn’t forgotten him.

「At the hospital.」

Ye Xiu cured Wang Yue in a flash. Without a single word to the man, he turned and left.

”What price did you have to pay to get Ye Xiu to save me?” Wang Yue asked after he was gone.

”He came to treat you voluntarily...” Wang Chaoyang recounted the entire series of events.

After listening, Wang Yue began to laugh. ”As I expected. I knew Ye Xiu wouldn’t dare let me die. If I died, he would be guilty of refusing to save a dying man, and the three Judicator Families wouldn’t let him off the hook.”

Wang Chaoyang rolled his eyes. ”Grandfather, that’s a very dangerous way of thinking.”

Wang Yue was taken aback. ”What do you mean?”

Before Wang Chaoyang could answer, the Long Clan Leader and Ye Tianming walked in.

”Wang Chaoyang, get out. We have matters to discuss with Old Man Wang,” the Long Clan Leader said flatly.

You two old bastards are here to swindle my grandfather again... Wang Chaoyang silently cursed his own lack of power. He truly wanted to bash in the heads of those two old scoundrels, the Long Clan Leader and Ye Tianming.
