Medical and Martial God

When Qin Qing directly asked what kind of gesture they had in mind, Dong Yan and the villagers were stunned for a moment. They had assumed Qin Qing and Leng Yue would refuse, forcing them to use coercion, which was precisely why Dong Yan had brought so many men with him.

Cowards!

Dong Yan inwardly scorned them and arrogantly made an exorbitant demand, ”Seeing as you’re both girls, 100,000 each will suffice for now, followed by 5,000 per person each month. Furthermore, this house you’re living in belonged to the late Wang Gen. He gifted it to me before he died, so by living here, you are my tenants. Remember to pay me 5,000 in rent per person each month.”

In truth, he was captivated by Qin Qing and Leng Yue’s beauty but decided not to rush things. For one, it was broad daylight with too many people around. For another, he was in no hurry. He figured once Qin Qing and Leng Yue understood the kind of man he was, he could make his move. By then, they wouldn’t dare to resist.

”So you’re saying we give you 200,000 now, and then 20,000 a month after that?” Qin Qing asked.

”Exactly!” Dong Yan nodded with a smile.

”That seems a little low,” Qin Qing said, smacking her lips.

Leng Yue deeply agreed. ”It is a little low!”

Dong Yan’s and the villagers’ eyes lit up. He had already made an exorbitant demand, yet Qin Qing and Leng Yue thought it was too little.

Are these two fools or a pair of incredibly wealthy women?

Dong Yan and the villagers grew excited.

”Then how much do you think is appropriate?” Dong Yan asked.

”Double it?” Qin Qing suggested.

She mainly asked because she still hadn’t figured out what currency Eternal Island used or what the general cost of living was.

”Alright, alright! Then 400,000 now, and 40,000 every month from now on.”

Dong Yan was overjoyed. It was like two walking money trees had just appeared before him.

The villagers all grew thrilled as well. Since Qin Qing and Leng Yue were so wealthy and seemed so timid, couldn’t they just come and demand money whenever they were short?

”Alright then, pay up,” Qin Qing said, holding out her hand.

”What?” Dong Yan was dumbfounded. ”You’re supposed to pay me. What do you mean by asking me for money?”

BANG!

Qin Qing lifted her leg and kicked Dong Yan squarely in the chest. ”You’re the one paying us.”

Dong Yan’s portly body, which weighed over two hundred pounds, flew off the ground like a cannonball. He crashed into a group of villagers and landed more than five meters away before spitting out a mouthful of blood.

”A Martial Artist?!”

The color drained from Dong Yan’s face.

The villagers’ expressions turned sour as they all backed away, staring at Qin Qing in terror.

So, after all this, it turned out Qin Qing and Leng Yue weren’t pushovers. They had been toying with them all along.

My God! How did such highly esteemed Martial Artists end up on Biluo Island, where the lower class lives?

”Pay up, or die!” Qin Qing said coldly as she walked over and planted her foot on Dong Yan’s chest.

”I’ll pay! I’ll pay!” Dong Yan, terrified out of his wits, shouted hurriedly.

Satisfied, Qin Qing finally removed her foot from his chest. ”Go gather the money and bring it to me tomorrow morning.”

She then turned to the villagers and said with a gangster’s swagger, ”You all go home and gather money, too. 100,000 from each household, delivered tomorrow morning. From now on, each family will also pay a 10,000 protection fee every month. And make sure to inform everyone in the village who isn’t here.”

The villagers’ morale instantly crumbled. They had come to be the bullies, so how had they ended up being the ones bullied?

Xueman and An Bai sent two bandits to our village!

Early the next morning, just after five o’clock, Xueman and An Bai drove to Sanyan Village. They were followed by several large trucks loaded with high-quality furniture, appliances, and other household goods.

”Qin Qing and Leng Yue must have been terribly bullied by the unruly villagers of Sanyan Village last night,” Xueman said with an expectant smile.

An Bai laughed. ”Dong Yan is a lecher. I’m just worried he might have violated Qin Qing and Leng Yue. That would be trouble.”

Xueman shook her head. ”Lecherous as he is, Dong Yan wouldn’t make a move on them right after their first meeting. I bet he would first try to make things difficult, extort, and bully them. Only after breaking their spirits would he make his move.”

An Bai said, ”Then we need to warn him today. Making things difficult or ostracizing them is fine, but he can’t lay a hand on them.”

Xueman nodded. ”Of course.”

The real reason they had come to Sanyan Village so early, under the guise of delivering furniture and supplies, was that they were dying to see how badly Qin Qing and Leng Yue had been bullied.

”Look!” An Bai exclaimed as their car entered Sanyan Village, pointing toward Qin Qing and Leng Yue’s house. ”It’s not even dawn, and the villagers have already gathered at their door. It seems Dong Yan can’t wait to break them and have his way with them.”

Xueman didn’t smile, a puzzled look on her face. ”It’s normal for the troublesome villagers to bully them, but look, they’re all lining up at Qin Qing’s door. That’s a bit strange.”

Only then did An Bai notice that the villagers gathered outside the house were indeed standing in a neat line. Moreover, every single one of them was holding a bag.

What’s going on?

The car stopped, and Xueman and An Bai hurried over.

Xueman pulled a villager from the back of the line aside and asked, ”What are you all lining up for?”

The villager didn’t recognize them but still answered with a woeful expression, ”We’re paying.”

”Paying?” Xueman and An Bai were stunned for a moment. ”Paying what?”

The villager recounted the events of the previous night.

Xueman and An Bai suddenly felt as if they had been slapped in the face. They had rushed here early in the morning to see what trouble Qin Qing and Leng Yue had gotten into. Instead, they saw the miserable state of the entire village being tormented by them.

”We underestimated them!” Xueman said, her expression pained. ”Ye Xiu is a Sixth Realm War God. As his wives, how could Qin Qing and Leng Yue not know any Martial Arts? We completely failed to anticipate that.”

An Bai sighed. ”Even if they are Martial Artists, their strength can’t be that high, or we wouldn’t have captured them so easily.”

”But Biluo Island is full of ordinary people. Even with just a little Kung Fu, they’re practically invincible here,” Xueman said, unwilling to accept it.

An Bai lamented, ”We’ve brought two bandits to Sanyan Village and Biluo Island.”

Just then, the courtyard gate to Qin Qing and Leng Yue’s house opened. Qin Qing’s voice drifted out from inside. ”Everyone, stay in line and come in one by one to pay. If anyone is short by even a single cent, I’ll flay you alive.”

Xueman was speechless.

An Bai was speechless.

”You finally learned it!” Ye Xiu said wearily. Tang Bo had at last mastered the method for removing the Blood Poison.

”Hey, wait a minute. Judging by your tone, you don’t seem very happy with my learning speed,” Tang Bo complained.

”Cut the chatter!” Ye Xiu couldn’t be bothered to argue with him. ”An Dongye, Dong Fangbai, take Tang Bo to the Dongfang Family now.”

”Come on,” An Dongye protested. ”It’s the middle of the night. You could at least let us leave in the morning.”

Ye Xiu ignored him and went upstairs to wash up and go to bed.

An Dongye, Tang Bo, and Dong Fangbai had no choice but to depart reluctantly.

The next morning around eleven, Kristina suddenly arrived. She plopped down on the sofa and announced, ”I’m hungry. What’s for lunch?”
