Medical and Martial God

Chapter 400: Chapter 400: The Employee is More Overbearing Than the Boss

Ye Xiu didn’t leave. He looked at Jiao Fuping coldly and said, ”Director, you’ll regret not hiring me.”

”Oh, aren’t we arrogant!” Jiao Fuping said mockingly. ”I’ve never regretted anything in my life. Fine, I won’t hire you. I’ll be waiting for you to make me regret it.”

After saying that, he left Wankang Wellness Hall.

”Why are you still here?” the young nurse barked at Ye Xiu, her face full of disdain.

”Just wait and regret it,” Ye Xiu said coldly, then turned and walked away.

”Pah!” The young nurse spat at his retreating figure.

Once outside Wankang Wellness Hall, Ye Xiu’s expression turned bone-chillingly cold. A place like Wankang Wellness Hall is a disgrace to the medical profession. It must be eliminated!

Just then, his phone suddenly rang. It was a call from An Dongye.

”Little brother, what brings you to Han Jin City? What were you doing at Wankang Wellness Hall?” she asked.

Ye Xiu was baffled. ”How do you know I’m in Han Jin City? You...” He trailed off, suddenly realizing he had asked a foolish question. She must be nearby and must have seen me leave Wankang Wellness Hall.

An Dongye said, ”I saw you. The Director of Wankang Wellness Hall, Jiao Fuping, is the person I’m looking for. I’m secretly observing him.”

Oh? So Wankang Wellness Hall is an asset of Medicine King Valley. No wonder its director is so young yet possesses the strength of a War God.

He asked, ”Where are you? It’s dinnertime. Let me take you out to eat.”

An Dongye replied, ”My face is covered in zits right now, so I can’t meet you. Besides, I still have to follow Jiao Fuping. Go eat by yourself!”

With that, she hung up.

Ye Xiu narrowed his eyes. As the saying goes, a single fallen leaf heralds autumn. Given Jiao Fuping’s deplorable character and how he trampled on the image of a doctor, Medicine King Valley was clearly not a respectable organization. So be it! I’ll start with Wankang Wellness Hall and draw out the big shots behind Medicine King Valley.

So, Ye Xiu called his godson, Ling Yun. ”Does Wankang Wellness Hall have any competitors in Han Jin City?”

”Godfather? How do you know about Wankang Wellness Hall?” Ling Yun asked, stunned. ”Of course, they do. Wankang Wellness Hall’s competitor is Mingde Ancient Medical Hall, which is right across the street from them.”

”What’s the relationship between Mingde Ancient Medical Hall and Mingde Pharmaceuticals?” Ye Xiu asked.

Ling Yun replied, ”Mingde Ancient Medical Hall is a subsidiary of Mingde Pharmaceuticals. Give me a moment, and I’ll gather some information on Mingde Pharmaceuticals and send it to you.”

”Great!” Ye Xiu hung up and narrowed his eyes.

Interesting. One of my reasons for coming to Han Jin City was to scout for potential partners, and Mingde Pharmaceuticals was my top choice. In that case, I’ll just help Mingde Ancient Medical Hall crush Wankang Wellness Hall.

Thus, Ye Xiu made his way across the street to Mingde Ancient Medical Hall.

Just as he reached the entrance, a BMW pulled up beside him, and the passenger-side window rolled down.

”Hey, fancy meeting you here,” Song Yushu leaned out to greet him with a smile.

”What, you want to sleep with me?” Ye Xiu gave her a dismissive glance. ”It’s 300 for one time, 1,000 for the night!”

Without waiting for her to respond, he entered Mingde Ancient Medical Hall.

Does that guy have a screw loose?

Song Yushu fumed as she watched his retreating back. Then, a thought struck her. He came to Mingde Ancient Medical Hall... don’t tell me he’s here to get his head examined? Her interest piqued, she immediately opened the door, got out of the car, and followed him inside.

As Ye Xiu entered Mingde Ancient Medical Hall, a security guard approached him politely. ”Sir, how can I help you?”

His attitude is a stark contrast to the young nurse at Wankang Wellness Hall. The difference is like night and day.

”Are you hiring?” Ye Xiu asked.

Song Yushu, who had followed him in, was taken aback. So this guy is here looking for a job. Before the security guard could answer, she said, ”Of course we’re hiring. I happen to need a driver.”

Ye Xiu frowned. ”You just don’t quit, do you? Why do you keep pestering me?”

”Sir, she is our Director,” the security guard reminded him.

Uh-oh. This is awkward.

”Didn’t expect that, did you?” Song Yushu asked smugly, her hands clasped behind her back as she stood on her tiptoes. Seeing Ye Xiu embarrassed brought her immense satisfaction.

”No, I didn’t,” Ye Xiu admitted with a nod.

”I need a driver. Are you in or not?” Song Yushu inquired.

Ye Xiu thought for a moment. ”I’m in!”

”Good. It’s already six in the evening. Come back tomorrow to handle the onboarding paperwork. For now, you’ll accompany me to dinner,” Song Yushu declared, suddenly adopting the air of a boss. Hmph. You think you can bully me? Just you wait, I’ll make things difficult for you.

Ye Xiu saw right through her. ”What’s the matter? Do your drivers provide escort services as well?”

The security guard gasped. This kid has some serious nerve! A mere driver, daring to speak to the Director like that!

Song Yushu hadn’t expected that Ye Xiu, now her employee, would still dare to tease her. ”You’re overthinking it,” she said. ”I mean you’ll drive me to dinner.”

”Alright then,” Ye Xiu shrugged.

The two of them went to the parking lot, where Ye Xiu drove Song Yushu’s BMW to a restaurant. The restaurant had a wonderful ambiance; the soothing music and romantic lighting created an intoxicating atmosphere.

Song Yushu chose a seat but didn’t invite Ye Xiu to join her. She had actually chosen this restaurant to treat him to dinner as an apology for the bus ticket incident. However, she didn’t know how to broach the topic, so she decided to wait for him to sit down, tease him a bit, and then make the offer.

But just as she sat down, she saw Ye Xiu taking a seat at the adjacent table.

Heh, so you have some backbone. Fine, you can just watch me eat!

Hence, she summoned the waiter and ordered only for herself.

The moment she finished, the waiter was called over by Ye Xiu, who rattled off a list of expensive dishes and even ordered a bottle of Lafite.

”What are you doing?” Song Yushu inhaled sharply, annoyed. ”You’re the driver. You’re here to accompany me to dinner. I never said I was treating you.”

She quickly calculated that his order would cost over three thousand. He’s clearly trying to scam me, his new boss!

”I haven’t eaten either,” Ye Xiu shrugged, adding, ”Don’t worry, we’re paying separately. I wasn’t expecting you to treat me.”

Heh, paying separately? A driver like you only earns a few thousand a month. How could you possibly afford a meal that costs over three thousand?

”Okay then!” Song Yushu replied with a sweet smile, but inwardly she was looking forward to the moment he couldn’t pay and had to beg her for help.

Soon, both of their orders arrived.

Song Yushu grew more and more frustrated as she ate. Her table held only a single steak, a salad, a dessert, and a drink. Meanwhile, Ye Xiu’s table was laden with expensive dishes and a bottle of Lafite.

Who’s the boss here, and who’s the driver? Hmph. Don’t come crying to me when you can’t pay the bill later!
