Chapter 354: Chapter 354: The Terrifying Identity of the Bounty Hunter

「Hongtai Nonwoven Fabric Factory!」

「Office Building, Basement Laboratory, Level 1!」

”What happened?” Ye Xiu asked when he arrived and saw a group of people lying on the ground.

”These are the remaining Bounty Hunters from Night Banquet, aside from Ma Wei,” Leng Yue said. ”There are fifty-three in total, but two of them are very strange.”

”What do you mean?” Ye Xiu asked. ”You said in your text that these people couldn’t feel pain. Now you’re saying two of them are strange?”

”Young Master, please be patient and let me explain.” Leng Yue organized his thoughts before speaking. ”With You Ming’s help, we easily tracked them down. Fifty-one of them went straight into hiding after arriving on Qingfeng Road, so my men captured them without any trouble. However, there were two exceptions. They just kept wandering the streets. When my men went to grab them, they actually thought we were Patrol Officers and didn’t resist at all.”

Ye Xiu was completely baffled. ”Which two?”

”Them!” Leng Yue pointed to two young men nearby.

Ye Xiu walked over for a closer look. They were in their twenties and dressed in a gaudy, Flower Slide Whistle style. One had dyed yellow hair, and the other was a punk.

No matter how he looked at them, they just seemed like street thugs!

”Wake them up,” Ye Xiu ordered.

Leng Yue casually tapped a few points on their bodies, and the two men woke up.

”Where is this? This isn’t the Patrol Bureau Office! Who are you people?” the yellow-haired man exclaimed, panicking as he looked around.

”Are you... are you Boss Wang’s men?” the punk asked sternly, remaining calmer than his companion.

Ye Xiu stared at their expressions and into their eyes for three seconds before suddenly grabbing their wrists. He placed his fingers on their pulses and said coldly, ”Stop pretending. I know you’re Bounty Hunters from Night Banquet.”

The yellow-haired man and the punk looked completely dumbfounded. ”What Night Banquet? What Bounty Hunters?”

Ye Xiu’s brow furrowed.

No matter how good their acting was, even the most skilled liars would show subtle changes in their pulse, expression, and eyes when exposed. Yet these two were perfectly calm! At least, Ye Xiu couldn’t tell if they were lying.

”Where are their phones?” Ye Xiu asked Leng Yue.

”Here.” Leng Yue retrieved the phones belonging to the two and handed them over.

”These are yours, right?” Ye Xiu asked.

The yellow-haired man and the punk immediately looked guilty.

”Tell me the truth, or I’ll kill you,” Ye Xiu said coldly, drawing his Dragon Sparrow Sword.

”I’ll talk! I’ll talk!” the yellow-haired man yelped, terrified by Ye Xiu’s glare. ”I stole one of the phones.”

”I stole the other one,” the punk admitted.

Stolen?

Ye Xiu, Leng Yue, and all the Blood Cloth Guards present were stunned.

”Where did you steal them?” Ye Xiu asked.

”The airport!”

”The train station!”

The two answered in unison.

”When did you steal them? And where, exactly?” Ye Xiu pressed.

”Around three-thirty this afternoon, at the bus stop closest to the airport,” the yellow-haired man said.

”I didn’t check the time, but it must have been after four. I stole it at the train station exit,” said the punk.

Ye Xiu gave Leng Yue a meaningful look.

Leng Yue understood immediately. He took photos of the yellow-haired man and the punk, then sent them to You Ming. He instructed You Ming to hack the surveillance systems at the airport and train station to check the footage from the times and locations where the two had stolen the phones.

Soon, You Ming sent back two clips of surveillance footage.

”I’ll be damned, they really did steal them.” After watching the videos, Ye Xiu was completely in awe of the two thieves.

These two are on another level! They actually managed to steal phones from Bounty Hunters. They’re true masters!

”Have You Ming try to track the two people from the surveillance footage and see if he can find them. Also, tell him to crack these two phones,” Ye Xiu instructed.

The footage showed the two Bounty Hunters who had been robbed. Both were wearing peaked caps, masks, and sunglasses, and their clothing was very loose. He could only tell that it was a man and a woman; their faces, ages, and skin tones were impossible to determine.

”Okay!” Leng Yue hurried to notify You Ming.

A moment later, the two phones in Ye Xiu’s hands unlocked. One phone’s screensaver was a Joker card, and the other was the two of hearts.

Just as Ye Xiu was about to check the phones for clues, the Joker’s phone suddenly rang. The caller ID showed an unknown number.

Ye Xiu answered. ”Hello? I’m sorry, I’m not the owner of this phone; I just found it. Are you a friend of his? Could you please let him know so he can come and pick it up?”

”I am the owner,” a voice replied. ”I’ll send you a location. Bring it to me, and I’ll give you a reward.”

The other person spoke the Xuanse language, but it was very stilted. He was probably a foreigner.

”Alright,” Ye Xiu said, hanging up. He turned to Leng Yue. ”That was the Joker.”

”Should we have You Ming lock onto his phone’s location?” Leng Yue asked.

”It’s no use. I imagine he’ll toss the phone and switch to a new one as soon as he hangs up,” Ye Xiu said.

”Then I’ll go meet him,” Leng Yue volunteered.

”No need. I’ll go myself.” Ye Xiu knocked the yellow-haired man and the punk unconscious before asking, ”You said in your text that the Bounty Hunters aren’t afraid of pain. What was that about?”

”See for yourself,” Leng Yue said, waking one of the captured men. ”This is the Six of Clubs.”

”Ye Xiu?” The Six of Clubs’ eyes hardened as soon as he woke up and saw him. ”How did you find my hiding place?”

Without a word, Ye Xiu thrust the Dragon Sparrow Sword into the man’s left thigh. The Six of Clubs didn’t react at all, as if the blade had pierced someone else’s leg.

”Oh?” Ye Xiu’s pupils contracted. He grabbed the man’s left wrist to check his pulse and exclaimed, ”Your pain nerves have been severed?”

”As expected of the Medicine King of Xuanse, to see through it so easily,” the Six of Clubs sneered.

Ignoring the taunt, Ye Xiu asked, ”Who captured him?”

”That was me, Young Master,” a Blood Cloth Guard stepped forward.

”Did he resist?” Ye Xiu asked.

”He did,” the Blood Cloth Guard replied.

”How strong is he?”

”His strength is very odd,” the guard explained. ”It seems he has no Martial Prowess, but his raw Power is enormous and he’s extremely agile. His overall combat strength is comparable to a Great Grandmaster’s.”

No wonder I couldn’t gauge the strength of Ma Wei and the Six of Clubs. So that’s how it is!

Ye Xiu’s expression turned grim. He stared coldly at the Six of Clubs. ”If I ask you questions, you won’t answer, will you?”

”If you already know, then don’t bother asking!” the Six of Clubs retorted arrogantly.

Leng Yue suggested, ”Young Master, should we hand them over to the Ghost Doctor for interrogation with the Forced Confession Potion?”

”The Forced Confession Potion is useless on humanoid monsters like these.” Ye Xiu shook his head and looked at the Six of Clubs. ”You’re Mutants created by the Fire Seed Company, aren’t you?”

”You...” The Six of Clubs’s face drained of color. ”How... How do you know that?”
