Medical and Martial God

Chapter 390: Chapter 390 Thank Huang Quan for his mercy

THUD...

Someone’s knees gave out, and they collapsed to the ground, unable to control their trembling legs and overwhelming fear. The sound was a trigger, and a wave of similar thuds followed as more people either knelt or crumpled. Soon, a foul stench filled the air as some had been scared shitless.

In just a few seconds, only three people remained on their feet: Long Zhen and the hunchbacked old man, who were struggling to stay upright, and Ye Xiu, who stood perfectly still.

This scene ignited a fire in the eyes of Huo Wu and her seven comrades. Their blood surged in their veins with excitement.

This was Huang Quan! Merely by appearing, he had terrified these thousands of arrogant Martial Artists, shattering their will to fight and leaving them in despair, simply waiting for death.

Despite their injuries, the eight of them supported one another, their bodies trembling as they forced themselves to stand. They straightened their backs and held their heads high. At this moment, they knew they had to be standing.

”Open your mouths,” Ye Xiu’s voice was cold and hoarse, devoid of any warmth.

Huo Wu and her seven comrades obediently opened their mouths.

Ye Xiu flicked his finger, sending eight medicinal pills shooting into their mouths. ”Heal on the spot,” he commanded.

”Yes!” Huo Wu’s team of eight sat cross-legged on the ground and began to heal. Ye Xiu moved behind them, helping them absorb the medicinal power and mend their injuries.

Seeing this, Long Zhen burned with shame and anger. Throughout the entire ordeal, Ye Xiu hadn’t even given him a single glance. It was a blatant disregard, as if Long Zhen were nothing but a lowly ant. However, now was not the time for anger. He needed to find a way to survive this encounter with Huang Quan, or perhaps even kill him. But he couldn’t do it alone.

”All of you, get up!” Long Zhen shouted at the thousands of collapsed Martial Artists, trying to incite them. ”Huang Quan is only one man! Even with the Blood Cloth Guards, that’s only thirty-seven people! We have an army of 300,000, including 10,000 Martial Artists and 290,000 mercenaries with countless firearms! If we unite, we can kill Huang Quan and the Blood Cloth Guards!”

No one responded. They were all too terrified to even speak. A man’s reputation truly precedes him.

The only reason they had dared to amass troops at the border and pressure the Xuanse Official Family to hand over Ye Xiu was their certainty that Huang Quan would perish at the hands of Ba Dao. They thought he would be too preoccupied with the upcoming battle against Ba Dao to come here.

But Huang Quan had come. Faced with this God of Slaughter, this butcher, this demon who had held the world in a grip of fear for a decade, their terror was indescribable. Forget joining forces to resist; they didn’t even have the courage to run.

Huang Quan had seen them all. Who would dare to flee? To do so would be to condemn their entire families to die by his blade.

”Commit suicide,” Ye Xiu said indifferently. ”And I won’t harm your families.”

As if granted a great amnesty, the thousands of Martial Artists immediately kowtowed, their foreheads hitting the ground as they cried out, ”Thank you for your mercy, Huang Quan!”

Then, as one, they all committed suicide. Not a single person hesitated.

The spectacle was staggering, shaking Long Zhen, the hunchbacked old man, and Huo Wu’s entire team to their very cores.

The blood of Huo Wu and her seven comrades surged with excitement. This is Huang Quan. His slaughter strikes fear across the world, yet even his victims are grateful for the manner of their death.

Long Zhen and the hunchbacked old man’s faces, however, grew impossibly grim. They had only ever heard the legends of Huang Quan and had never thought him so formidable. Now, having witnessed his domineering power firsthand, they finally understood the terrifying extent of his influence over the world.

”Tomorrow is your decisive battle with Ba Dao. You were already considered no match for him, so why have you come here to slaughter people? Aren’t you afraid of expending too much Martial Prowess and dying a miserable death at Ba Dao’s hands?” Suppressing his fear, Long Zhen stared at Huang Quan—still helping Huo Wu’s team heal—and voiced the confusion in his heart.

By any normal logic, Huang Quan should be focused on how to defeat Ba Dao, or at least how to survive the encounter. What was he doing here?

”Since you’re so curious, I’ll let you live one more day,” Ye Xiu said, ”so you can witness with your own eyes how I slaughter Ba Dao.”

Ye Xiu stood up and walked toward Long Zhen. Long Zhen instinctively tried to back away but found himself completely immobilized. Panic seized him. What kind of power is this? He can control my movements without even touching me! My own strength surpasses Yin Tianxi, the top fighter on the War God Ranking, yet the gap between me and Huang Quan... it’s this vast!

”Huo Wu, I’m going to kill now. You eight, take this man to Jin Ye City,” Ye Xiu commanded. As he spoke, he struck Long Zhen’s lower abdomen with his palm, crippling his Martial Prowess.

”Let us fight beside you!” Huo Wu and her seven comrades declared, their fighting spirit soaring. To fight alongside Huang Quan would be the honor of a lifetime, a story they could tell forever.

”This is no longer the soil of the Xuanse Nation,” Ye Xiu stated simply. He took the Battle Soul Blade from Long Zhen’s hand and, with a casual swing, cleaved the hunchbacked old man in two.

Huo Wu and the others were startled for a moment before his meaning dawned on them. We’re active-duty soldiers. It’s inappropriate for us to operate on foreign territory outside of a declared war.

”If only Huang Quan would take me as a disciple,” Huo Wu muttered with a pout, her eyes following Ye Xiu until he disappeared into the darkness.

”Give it a rest,” Black Bear teased. ”Your master is Qing Luan. What’s this? Planning to betray your sect?”

”Hah! If Huang Quan were willing to take me as his disciple, my master would probably wake up laughing in her sleep. Believe me,” Huo Wu retorted with a smirk.

She has a point... Black Bear thought, a sudden desire to take Huang Quan as his master igniting within him as well.

「Suddenly, the internet and major television stations around the globe exploded with breaking news.」

”An Allied Force of 300,000 Martial Artists and mercenaries has amassed at the border of the Xuanse Nation, demanding the Xuanse Official Family hand over Ye Xiu. In response, Huang Quan, leading the Blood Cloth Guards, arrived at the border at 3:00 a.m. on August 14th...”

The news hit the world like a nuclear bomb, stunning billions of people.

Recently, the name Ye Xiu had become famous worldwide due to global financial tycoons backing his ventures into the medical field. Still, people around the world were baffled. Was a mere doctor really worth mobilizing an allied force of 300,000 and pressuring the Xuanse Official Family?

Of course, aside from the people of the Xuanse Nation who were genuinely concerned for Ye Xiu, the rest of the world was only briefly curious before dismissing it. Their focus was on Huang Quan.

Surveys and data showed that 98% of the world’s population believed Huang Quan was guaranteed to die at Ba Dao’s hands. And yet, with the day of the decisive battle between Huang Quan and Ba Dao scheduled for August 15th, Huang Quan had shockingly led the Blood Cloth Guards to the border in the early hours of August 14th. What was he thinking?

”I bet Huang Quan knows he’s going to die at Ba Dao’s hands. He’s leading the Blood Cloth Guards against the 300,000-strong Allied Forces to let his infamous reputation have one last blaze of glory.”

”They might be powerful, but Huang Quan and the Blood Cloth Guards are only thirty-seven people. Putting that small a force against 300,000 troops, which include 10,000 Martial Artists... he’s leading them on a suicide mission.”

”Don’t forget, every time the Blood Cloth Guards march, it ends in a horrific massacre. Even if they fight to exhaustion and are ultimately killed, Huang Quan and his guards will probably take tens of thousands of soldiers down with them.”
