Medical and Martial God

Chapter 396: Chapter 396: Failed to Pick Up

”Where in Han Jin City is Qin Ming, and what is he doing there?” Ye Xiu asked.

He remembered Gong Jin mentioning that three months ago, Qin Ming had been working in Changxu City before he was taken away by a man named Ma Zixiong and disappeared.

There’s definitely something fishy going on!

If Ma Zixiong had brought Qin Ming to Han Jin City for work, Gong Jin and Qing Luan should have been able to find him easily. They could have tracked him whether he traveled by plane, train, bus, or even by car. Yet, it had taken them over two days. Clearly, Ma Zixiong and Qin Ming didn’t want anyone to know they had gone to Han Jin City, so they had been hiding their tracks on the road from Changxu City and after their arrival.

Gong Jin reported, ”I haven’t yet found out exactly where Qin Ming is in Han Jin City or what he’s doing. Since you were heading to Hexia Road, I dispatched intelligence personnel to infiltrate its various City Mansions. Ten minutes ago, one of our agents happened to see Qin Ming leaving the Han Jin City International Entertainment Club. He was in a hurry and looked exhausted. After he reported it to me, I had him follow Qin Ming secretly...”

”What kind of place is the Han Jin City International Entertainment Club?” Ye Xiu asked.

”A den of vice!” Gong Jin replied.

I can’t let Qin Qing and my mother-in-law know about this.

Just then, Gong Jin suddenly added, ”The agent just sent a message. He lost Qin Ming.”

What? He lost him? Ye Xiu was shocked. The intelligence personnel from Ming Feng Tower were professional spies, skilled in tracking and counter-tracking. Not to mention, they were all Martial Artists. How could they have lost his father-in-law?

Interesting! My father-in-law’s identity isn’t simple at all. He’s an expert in counter-tracking. Impressive!

”Ask the Eight Great National Protector War Gods for assistance. Find him as soon as possible, but don’t alert him,” Ye Xiu commanded.

”Understood!”

After hanging up, Ye Xiu sent a text message to Qin Qing.

”I’ve found your father. He’s in Han Jin City, but my people lost his trail. I need to go there immediately.”

Qin Qing replied instantly, ”I’m coming too!”

”Wait until I find him. Then you and your mom can come over,” Ye Xiu texted back.

”Alright. Be careful!”

Ye Xiu put his phone away and walked right out of the classroom, ignoring the stunned students of Ancient Medicine Class 2, who were left dumbstruck.

”Teacher Murong, could you please check my pulse? I think I’m having auditory hallucinations. I could have sworn I heard Teacher Ye asking for the Eight Great National Protector War Gods to help find someone,” a student said to Murong in shock.

”I heard it too! Am I hallucinating as well?”

”It wasn’t a hallucination. I heard it too.”

”Damn, Teacher Ye knows the Eight Great National Protector War Gods?”

The students couldn’t believe their ears. The Eight Great National Protector War Gods were at the very apex of Xuanse’s power pyramid. Their status wasn’t something even Xuanse’s Medicine King could compare to. It was impossible for most people to even ask for help from a single National Protector War God, yet Teacher Ye had requested all eight at once. It had to be a hallucination. Yes, definitely a hallucination!

”I’ll tell you a secret, but don’t spread it around,” Murong said mysteriously. ”Teacher Ye is an instructor for the Red Flame Army. Even the Eight Great National Protector War Gods treat him with respect when they see him.”

What? All 54 students were in shock.

”Holy cow, Teacher Ye is incredible! The title of Xuanse’s Medicine King was already badass enough, but he’s also an instructor for the Red Flame Army.”

”He truly is my idol. Teacher Ye is practically a god.”

”A doctor and a military instructor are two completely different fields. Teacher Ye’s career path is insanely broad.”

”Being a student of Xuanse’s Medicine King was already enough to make my ancestors burst with pride. Now I’m also a student of a Red Flame Army instructor! Doesn’t that mean I’m of the same generation as the Red Flame Army? When I see them in the future, should I just call them senior brothers?”

”Damn right! My teacher is a Red Flame Army instructor. Hmph, I’d like to see anyone dare to mess with me now.”

The students were so excited they could barely think straight. The revelation that Ye Xiu was a Red Flame Army instructor had a massive impact on them. As his students, they felt like they were floating on air.

On the train to Han Jin City, Ye Xiu sat by the window, watching the landscape flash by as his thoughts raced just as fast.

As the saying goes, plan carefully before you act. This trip to Han Jin City is too hasty!

Ye Xiu needed time to think through his purpose for going to Han Jin City and to formulate a detailed plan, which was why he chose to take the train instead of a plane. As his mind raced, time flew by.

The train stopped at the north station in Qingfeng Road. Some people got off, and others boarded.

”Excuse me, you’re in my seat.”

A pleasant voice interrupted Ye Xiu’s train of thought, but he ignored it, assuming she wasn’t talking to him.

”Sir, you’re sitting in my seat,” the pleasant voice repeated, but Ye Xiu continued to gaze out the window.

”Sir!” Someone nudged him.

Startled, Ye Xiu turned to look at the person who had nudged him. Whoa, a real beauty. Her looks, figure, and aura are all top-notch.

”Are you talking to me?” he asked.

”There are only two of us in this car. If I’m not talking to you, am I talking to a ghost?” the girl retorted, looking displeased, her tone laced with suppressed anger.

Ye Xiu sat up and looked around. Indeed, only he and the girl remained in the car. ”Sorry, please don’t try to hit on me. My wife wouldn’t like it,” he said, before turning back to the window.

”You...” Song Yushu fumed. ”You’re in my seat!”

What a psycho. This is the dumbest pick-up line ever... Ye Xiu thought, ignoring her.

”You’re so annoying! Get up!” Song Yushu was furious now. She grabbed Ye Xiu’s arm, trying to pull him to his feet.

Ye Xiu was getting annoyed. Does this girl have a screw loose? He forcefully jerked his arm free from her grasp.

However, he used too much force. Song Yushu lost her balance and stumbled forward, falling right on top of him.

”Hey, are girls these days this forward? When trying to pick someone up doesn’t work, you just pounce on them?” Ye Xiu frowned.

”You... you pervert!” Song Yushu scrambled up, her face bright red. She threatened angrily, ”If you don’t move out of my seat right now, I’m calling the attendant!”

”You should go see a doctor. There’s definitely something wrong with your head,” Ye Xiu retorted, turning back to the window to resume his thinking.

”You, you, you... You’re infuriating! Just you wait!” Song Yushu stomped her foot and stormed off to find the train attendant.

Soon, she returned, dragging an attendant with her. Pointing at Ye Xiu, she complained, ”It’s him! He’s hogging my seat! Make him get up and give it back to me!”
