Xiong Tieshan wanted to kill Lu Ye to destroy a potential threat in the future, and only by snatching the Dragon Throne would he have the power to protect himself. Otherwise, once the news of him killing Lu Ye was spread, the three major Sects would come to eliminate him.

Everyone was well aware of the Dragon Throne’s power now, and the attack Lu Ye had cast at that time was astonishing. It was a height the cultivators in Soaring Dragon Boundary could never reach. Although the peril of the Dragon Throne had also been spread along with the news of Lu Ye’s injury, many people still coveted the treasure.

It was the same case for Xiong Tieshan and the cultivators he had gathered.

With the Dragon Throne in their hands, they might not be able to rival the three major Sects, but at the very least, no one in Soaring Dragon Boundary could threaten their safety.

“Do you want it?” Under the night sky, Lu Ye hung his head low. His voice was grim as he flicked his fingers. “Take it yourself.”

He had cast a ray of red light. The light spun around and eventually landed in front of Xiong Tieshan, jabbing into the ground and revealing only the hilt. It was the Dragon Spine Saber.

Xiong Tieshan was dumbfounded, not expecting Lu Ye to react in such a way. It was as if the man was ready to give him what he wanted. At that moment, he was both shocked and doubtful, wondering what Lu Ye was up to.

On the other hand, the people behind him looked fervently at the big hilt above the ground.

Dragon Spine Saber was to be used alongside Dragon King Armour, which was nine metres tall while the saber itself was around five metres long. Even the hilt alone was close to one metre. No average cultivator could wield the weapon.

Therefore, despite their eagerness, no one dared step forward. None of them knew if it was a trap.

“What are you up to, Ye Six?” Xiong Tieshan said through gritted teeth. Despite his fierce appearance, he was diffident deep within.

Lu Ye shook his head, looking disappointed. “It’s not wrong to be careful, but someone as overcautious as you are, regardless of how powerful you might be, will never achieve great success.”

Xiong Tieshan was furious at that. Just as he was ready to refute, Lu Ye motioned for Ye Liuli to push his wheelchair as they moved forward. One of them was on his last legs as his Source was exhausted while the other was in the pink of health. However, as the wheelchair approached, Xiong Tieshan couldn’t help but step backwards.

Upon reaching the Dragon Spine Saber, Lu Ye reached out to grasp the hilt, but his face flushed slightly as everyone watched him withdrawing the red blade from the ground. “I’ve given it to you, but you don’t even dare take it. What’s the point of you looking for me?”

When Lu Ye decided to take Ye Liuli to the north to seek medical treatment, he gave up on the idea of retaliating against the Divine Will Sect. First of all, he wasn’t the real Ye Six, and second, it was Ye Liuli’s wish. She wouldn’t want her only living Brother to get killed while seeking revenge.

To Ye Liuli at that time, getting revenge no longer mattered as long as Lu Ye was by her side. Therefore, Lu Ye had never thought about finding fault with Xiong Tieshan. If not for the older man’s appearance all of a sudden, he would’ve forgotten about him.

“I’m sorry for troubling you, Senior,” Lu Ye said and kept his Dragon Spine Saber.

“What are you talking about?” Xiong Tieshan didn’t understand what the younger man was saying, but his chest tightened at that.

“Just go ahead, little friend. I’ll deal with the rest.”

The expressions of Xiong Tieshan and his accomplices changed drastically when they heard that voice. Following that, a figure emerged. The person was wearing a hat and clad in a green robe, looking like a scholar. His back was straight, and his gaze was sharp. He seemed to be filled with murderous intent as he squinted.

“Yuan Changcun!” Xiong Tieshan was flabbergasted, and his companions were all horrified. As they exchanged glances, they felt cold all over their bodies.

Yuan Changcun was not on his own. Xiong Tieshan and the others were already surrounded by quite a number of cultivators. They had surrounded Lu Ye at first, but they were besieged now instead.

Considering their powers, they should’ve noticed other people approaching them. However, they were distracted as Lu Ye cast the Dragon Spine Saber, so they were less sensitive to their surroundings. It was at that moment that Yuan Changcun and his people seized the chance and stepped forward.

“Is this a trap?” Xiong Tieshan was apparently mistaken, thinking that Lu Ye had taken the trouble to leave the Valley of Medicine to lure these people away, making them show up.

Unbeknownst to him, the powerful cultivators of the three major Sects had already been standing guard in secret outside Lu Ye’s hut when they were still in the Valley of Medicine. That was because Huang Liang understood there were many evil people out there. Although Lu Ye had saved the world, those people would still try to snatch the Dragon Throne to have a taste of the power the treasure could bring.

Many cultivators had been moving around the Valley of Medicine, but only several people had the right to go to the area where the hut was located.

Lu Ye thought he had stealthily left the Valley, but how were they supposed to hide it from Huang Liang and the others when Lu Ye was badly injured and Yi Yi and Ye Liuli were weak?

No one stopped them because there wasn’t a need to do so. The dying saviour’s last wish was to take a good look at the world he had risked his life to save, so no one had the heart to stop him.

Nonetheless, the three major Sects were determined to protect Lu Ye. Yuan Changcun, the director of Grandeur Academy, even followed him in secret. They thought Lu Ye was oblivious to all of this, but in actuality, he had detected their presence.

Under the night sky, the wheelchair moved away and was eventually devoured by darkness. Xiong Tieshan and his gang hadn’t dared move a muscle the entire time. Although he was also a Ninth-Order Cloud River Realm Master, he was much weaker than a truly formidable cultivator like Yuan Changcun.

“A trap?” Yuan Changcun sneered. “You think too highly of yourself.” He waved his hand and decided their fate with his words. “Kill them all!”

Then, Sword Lights flickered and crisscrossed each other. The tranquillity on the island was shattered, and bloodlust stirred.

“They’re so foolish,” Yuan Changcun lamented. Soaring Dragon Boundary was recovering from the crisis that almost destroyed everyone, but faced with a saviour like Lu Ye, some people even had the audacity to harm him instead of thanking him. Even though he was the director of Grandeur Academy, he didn’t understand why such ungrateful people existed in this world.

Fortunately, there were not a lot of evil people like them. They had seized the chance to destroy people like them. Hopefully, no one would try to harm Lu Ye again.

As Yuan Changcun watched the younger man leave, he let out a sigh. He hoped Lu Ye would live peacefully for the rest of his days.

After leaving Tyrant Blade Manor, Lu Ye and Ye Liuli headed to Mount Magnifique, which was where Lu Ye landed when he arrived at the Boundary. It was a coincidence that his life would also end there.

Mount Magnifique had Sungazing Peak, which was the highest peak of the mountain range. From the middle of the mountain, the entire place was covered in mist and clouds.

Upon arriving at the peak, they stopped in their tracks and looked east.

The Sun was rising and shining on everything. Seated in the wheelchair, Lu Ye squinted at the lively Sun. Some regrets remained in his heart, and he didn’t want to leave the world so soon. Sensing his emotion, Yi Yi crouched down beside him and pressed her face against his hand. She wasn’t afraid or sorrowful; she only at Lu Ye in silence as though trying to carve the contour of his face into the deepest part of her mind.

She and Amber were inseparable from Lu Ye. If the man died, they couldn’t live either.

“Liuli,” Lu Ye called out gently. The young girl responded to him with sobs. “I can only accompany you for so long, and you have to walk down the rest of the path on your own.” Ye Liuli looked away, her face already covered in tears.

It was the most heart-wrenching thing ever to see a friend or a family member die. She was convulsing with tears, unable to accept the cruel truth.

Just as Lu Ye was ready to placate her, Ye Liuli crouched down and took his hand. “Sixth Brother, I’m fortunate to have you by my side for such a long time. I’ve been waiting for you for many years, and I can’t hold out any longer.”

Lu Ye was stunned, not understanding what she was trying to say, but he soon became flabbergasted. “You…”

Noticing something, Yi Yi straightened her back and looked dazedly at Ye Liuli. Amber’s eyes widened as well, and they reflected a glowing figure. It was as if Ye Liuli was burning. However, the flame that had engulfed her was not scorching. Instead, it gave off a warm sensation.

Then, the flame expanded and covered Lu Ye. The next moment, disbelief was written all over Lu Ye’s face as he felt a gentle force entering his body through Ye Liuli’s palm. The force was quickly replenishing his Source, which had been depleted because he had activated the Dragon Throne.

It was like rain in a drought or new shoots on an old tree. Lu Ye could clearly feel his body going through a transformation for some unfathomable reason.

Fine lines had grown on his face as of late. Although he was barely twenty years old, those who didn’t know him would think that he was in his forties or fifties. Even his hair had turned grey.

But now, the fine lines were disappearing from his face, and his hair was turning dark again. He was like the Sun that had just risen into the sky, lively and energetic.

Yi Yi covered her mouth in disbelief, not knowing what was going on. Lu Ye had no idea either. He didn’t know Ye Liuli was capable of this.

As the mysterious force left Ye Liuli’s body and entered Lu Ye’s, he felt that his connection with this world had become closely knitted. He faintly realised something.

“What are you doing, Liuli?” he asked in shock.

Although the transformation he was going through was desirable, he could feel that Ye Liuli had paid a huge price for it, and it might even be devastating for her.

His Source was depleted, and even the Divine Healer was unable to help. How was it possible that Ye Liuli could help restore it? Lu Ye couldn’t explain what he was experiencing.
