Over the years, many cultivators had held some grudges against Heavenly Gully Cult. However, since they were weak, they were unable to fight such a juggernaut.

If the three hegemons decided to make a move, these cultivators wouldn’t mind lending them a hand.

When that happened, Heavenly Gully Cult would be the public enemy.

“What on Earth are you doing, Heavenly Sage?” Fa Hua was furious as his long eyebrows twitched, which showed the uneasiness in his heart. “What kind of ward is this?”

Given how experienced he was, he couldn’t recognise what ward it was. He speculated it was a kind of blood-sacrifice ward.

Undeniably, if such an evil and large-scale ward was activated, it would be devastating.

He was puzzled as to why the Heavenly Sage had decided to do such a thing.

Although he had rarely come into contact with the Heavenly Sage, they had heard a lot about each other since they were the most powerful cultivators in the world.

No sane Human would ever do such a horrible thing.

The Heavenly Sage’s hands were still behind his back. Faced with the two oldest and strongest cultivators in the world, he remained calm and collected. Instead of answering Fa Hua’s question, he asked, “Master Fa Hua, you’ve been stuck in the Cloud River Realm for a long time. Have you ever seen the path ahead?”

Fa Hua frowned. “Have you found it?”

There was a smug smile on the Heavenly Sage’s face. “Yes.”

Upon hearing that, Fa Hua and the others were shocked.

Liu Tianyi stepped forward. “Where is it?”

“It’s right here before our eyes!”

“Are you trying to tell me that it’s within the Heavenly Gully?” Liu Tianyi squinted.

He was certainly aware of Heavenly Gully Cult’s goal. However, he wouldn’t believe that they had figured anything out from the Heavenly Gully. Otherwise, the Heavenly Sage would’ve ascended to the Real Lake Realm by now.

The Heavenly Sage pocketed his gaze and turned to look at the Heavenly Gully before saying slowly, “I’ve indeed acquired some insights through years of observation here. Since the path ahead has been obstructed, we shall shatter Heaven and destroy the Earth. Without any shackles around us, we’ll naturally see the path ahead.”

“You’re spouting nonsense!” Liu Tianyi bellowed.

The Heavenly Sage smiled and pointed forward. “Can you tell me what kind of ward this is, then?”

Liu Tianyi couldn’t tell what ward it was. He and Fa Hua were experienced people, and they had the records of the Divine Ocean Realm Masters’ insights in their respective Sects. Although they were unable to use those moves due to the restrictions, they were just as knowledgeable as those Divine Ocean Realm Masters over a thousand years ago.

Despite that, they were unable to tell what ward it was.

“To be honest with you, I’ve figured out this ward from the Heavenly Gully. Otherwise, I couldn’t have built such an amazing ward. When the ward is finally completed, we’ll see the path ahead. It must be fate that brings you here. In that case, why don’t you comprehend the Grand Way with me?”

Fa Hua hung his head low and chanted the Buddha’s name before saying, “It’s indeed our goal to find out the path ahead. However, if we have to achieve our goal in such a way, we’d rather give it up. Heavenly Sage, you’re out of your mind!”

The Heavenly Sage sighed. “I guess it’s impossible to reason with you.”

“Since we’re on opposing sides, there’s no point speaking to him further. Just kill him!” Liu Tianyi growled and fished out an ancient-looking book as his Spiritual Power surged around him. As the pages flipped, rays of golden light shot towards the Heavenly Sage. Every ray of light was lethal.

When a Sword Cry was heard, Cheng Henfeng’s sword left the sheath on his back. When he got hold of his weapon, he shot into the sky and faced the rays of golden light head-on while bellowing, “Don’t blame me for going against you, Master!”

“I should’ve killed you long ago, bastard!”

“Amitabha!” Fa Hua chanted. His alms bowl flew away from his hand as it expanded along with the wind and shot towards the Heavenly Sage.

An eerie laugh was heard as Xing Mo dashed forward. “Old fart, why is a monk like you filled with murderous intent?”

Fa Hua replied impassively, “A monk can be kind-hearted, but he can also be furious when dealing with terrible people!”

“What a good chance!” Huang Liang had been watching everything from the sidelines. Since Xing Mo and Cheng Henfeng were tangled up in battles, he immediately charged towards the Heavenly Sage.

As the current Sect Master of the Imperial Sect, he was undoubtedly powerful. If he could find a chance, he might be able to kill the Heavenly Sage. When that happened, Heavenly Gully Cult would be destroyed as well.

He threw his horsetail whisk forward as countless threads shot forward like beams of light, which engulfed and cordoned off a large area in an instant.

However, the Heavenly Sage remained unmoving, nor did he spare the man a glance.

At that moment, Huang Liang realised something was off.

*Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!*

Many figures shot out from the blood river all of a sudden, making the place look cramped. Several people flew towards Huang Liang while some other people charged towards Fa Hua and Liu Tianyi.

“It’s a trap!” Huang Liang instantly realised what was going on.

The people who appeared out of the blue were all Ninth-Order Cloud River Realm Masters. They were apparently the Elders of Heavenly Gully Cult. They had been hiding inside the blood river and concealing their auras. Despite being powerful, Fa Hua and Liu Tianyi were unable to detect their presence. It wasn’t until they flared up that their presence was felt.

“Since I knew all of you would be coming, I certainly would be prepared. Just stay here forever.” The Heavenly Sage snorted.

[We shouldn’t stay here any longer…]

That was the first thought that sprang into Huang Liang’s mind. While dealing with the Elders from the Cult, he turned to look at Fa Hua and Liu Tianyi.

Much to his surprise, the two of them didn’t seem to have the intention of retreating.

Fa Hua looked dramatically different from his usual self. He was originally a skinny person with withered skin, but now, his muscles were bulging, and his vitality had surged significantly. Every move he made was mighty.

He was an old man with little time left in this world. Now that he had fully activated his power to fight, it was apparent that he didn’t have the intention of leaving this place alive.

Although Liu Tianyi’s transformation wasn’t conspicuous, he was going all out as well. As he cast his abstruse attacks, he was able to deal with many people at the same time.

However, he couldn’t go on like this forever. Once he ran out of energy, he would lose his life.

[What are they trying to do?]

Huang Liang was puzzled. Even though they had fallen into the trap those from the Cult had set up, it wasn’t hard for them to leave as long as they joined forces since they were powerful.

Nevertheless, Fa Hua and Liu Tianyi seemed determined to stay.

Suddenly, he recalled what his Master had told him a long time ago. When a country fell into danger, heroes would emerge. When the world was in crisis, there would be saviours.

In other words, when the world was in turmoil, people who bore the luck of the world would appear.

His Master Li Sa was one such person, and it was the same case for Fa Hua and Liu Tianyi.

However, they were unable to solve the crisis in this world. They were stuck in the Cloud River Realm as they gradually approached the end of their lives.

The luck of the world was intangible, but it wasn’t inexhaustible. There was a limit.

Li Sa, Fa Hua, and Liu Tianyi, who were from the previous generation, bore the luck of the world as long as they were still alive.

Since Li Sa had passed away, only Fa Hua and Liu Tianyi were left.

Therefore, they were returning the luck to the world so that it could be prepared for the imminent crisis.

Huang Liang finally realised what Fa Hua and Liu Tianyi were trying to achieve.

Both of them only had little time left to live in this world. With the blessing of the world’s luck, they must’ve realised something. Since they knew they couldn’t change anything, they pin their hopes on those who would replace them.

Therefore, they had to die so that they could return the luck to the world and let new people fill their shoes.

Upon that realisation, Huang Liang had immense respect for them.

Although he still had a long time to live, he wasn’t afraid of death, especially when two Seniors were by his side. Therefore, he wouldn’t have any regrets even if he had to die, and he would be proud to see his Master in Yellow Springs.

After figuring out the intention of Fa Hua and Liu Tianyi, he instantly became at ease. Following a long growl, he did his best to contend with the Elders from the Cult.

Fa Hua’s chants intertwined with Liu Tianyi’s recitation. The two oldest and strangest cultivators went all out and fought their enemies. A radius of hundreds of kilometres around the area seemed to have been struck with gales and lightning. It was as if the world was crying for them.

Under normal circumstances, Cloud River Realm Masters couldn’t possibly evoke such an anomaly while in a fight. However, these two old people, who bore the luck of the world, were not on the same level as the average Cloud River Realm Master.

While they were in an intense battle, the three major Sects had made an announcement calling on all cultivators in the world to come together and launch an attack on Heavenly Gully Cult. The announcement was sent to all the corners of the martial world through various channels. As such, countless cultivators saw it in a short time.

Heavenly Gully Cult had never been friendly with everyone else. In the past, they had only occupied Xue Zhou and never left. Moreover, no one dared to offend them since they were powerful.

Now that they had done such a horrible thing by building a mysterious ward with the blood of the citizens in Xue Zhou, they had violated the taboo in the martial world.

Also, the three hegemons had joined forces and made an announcement this time. All the cultivators in the world obliged and set off to Xue Zhou from all directions.

“Is it going to rain?”

In the Valley of Medicine, Yi Yi stood in front of the hut and looked up at the dark clouds. Her face was filled with puzzlement.

The weather was lovely a moment ago, but the sky was now full of dark clouds. Lightning could be seen flashing across the clouds, and the deafening thunder sounded like Dragon’s roars.

Ye Liuli stood beside her and looked up as well.

She had regained consciousness following the Divine Healer’s treatment. Over the past few days, she looked like her usual self and wasn’t struck with the illness again.

They were still staying there because Lu Ye hadn’t paid up the medical expenses.

Although Lu Ye was well-versed in the Way of Wards, it would take him several days to set up adequate wards, given how large the Valley of Medicine was. Nevertheless, he was about to complete his task.

A weak Zhuang Bufan was seated somewhere near the ladies, and his aura was frail.

Although Lu Ye had given him some Soul Cleansing Water, it could only alleviate his pain. He would never be cured.

His health had deteriorated in the past few days. Anyone could tell that his days were numbered.

Another reason Lu Ye and the others were not in a hurry to leave was that they wanted to be by Zhuang Bufan’s side in his last moments.

Even though it had only been a short time since they got to know each other, Lu Ye respected the man.
