All of them fell silent as only the howling of the wind was heard.

Suddenly, a high-pitched voice shattered the tranquillity.

“Welcome, my Lord!”

It was the Chief Elder of the Heavenly Gully Cult, Xing Mo. He fell to his knees and pressed his head against the floor, looking devoted.

He was old and shrewd, after all, and he had been by the Heavenly Sage’s side over the years. Even though he didn’t know the latter’s exact plan, he had a better idea than the others.

Moreover, he formed some speculation after listening to the conversation between the blood-skinned man and the Heavenly Sage.

Even though it was unbelievable, such a thing had indeed happened right before his eyes.

This blood-skinned man was a guest from another world.

Furthermore, he came here through the Blood River Grand Ward, which was prepared by the Heavenly Sage.

Many years ago, the Heavenly Sage figured out the secrets behind the Heavenly Gully and learned how to build the ward from the Heavens. That was why he started setting up the Blood River Grand Ward and kidnapped so many people in Xue Zhou to be served as blood sacrifices.

Now, it seemed that the Grand Ward wasn’t given by the Heavens. Instead, it was this blood-skinned man who had been communicating with the Heavenly Sage through the Heavenly Gully. He was also the one who taught him how to build the Grand Ward.

That was the future path that the Heavenly Sage had found for them. Although it was different from what Xing Mo had imagined, it was still a way out for people like them, who had reached the end of their cultivation journey. However, the appearance of the blood-skinned man allowed him to see the path beyond the Cloud River Realm.

Therefore, he fell to his knees without hesitation.

Since the Heavenly Sage had done the same, the Chief Elder certainly wouldn’t feel any pressure when doing that. He also tugged at Cheng Henfeng, who was standing beside him.

Cheng Henfeng was a Sword Cultivator, and he had only knelt in front of his parents and Master before. Even the Heavenly Sage never made him kneel. Therefore, he wasn’t willing to do such a thing in front of a person who came out of nowhere. Nevertheless, he was badly injured, so he was forced to fall to his knees when Xing Mo pulled him.

“Welcome, my Lord!” All the surviving Cult members knelt on the floor and called out respectfully. They were in stark contrast to the cultivators from the allied forces, who remained standing and appeared to be at a loss.

The blood-skinned man swept a glance over them with a dispassionate expression. He wasn’t ecstatic because the Cult members had submitted to him, nor was he furious because the cultivators from the allied forces were disobedient.

When people from a world invaded another world, such a situation was inevitable, and the blood-skinned man had seen the same thing many times.

He said impassively, “I’m the Blood Lord of the Blood Race, and I’m from Blood Boundary. Submit to me… or go to Hell!”

Despite his dispassionate tone, all the cultivators from the allied forces felt immensely pressured and anxious.

Although they had already guessed that the person was a guest from another world, they were still astounded when he verified it.

They had never heard of the Blood Race or Blood Boundary. However, it was apparent that he didn’t spend so much effort coming to Soaring Dragon Boundary only for a visit. Moreover, he only gave them two options, and there was no room for negotiation. He was obviously ill-intentioned.

Faced with such a situation, no cultivator could rashly make a decision.

“Good, good.” Guang Jing took a step forward and stared fixedly at the Blood Lord with his sharp gaze. “May I know why you want to invade Soaring Dragon Boundary?”

The Blood Lord turned to look at him and examined him before saying icily, “It’s only natural for the powerful to conquer the weak.”

His statement was simple but irrefutable.

“What do we have to do if we submit to you?” Yuan Changcun asked.

The Blood Lord replied, “You’ll be planted with Blood Seals and become our Blood Slaves. Only then will I spare your lives!”

Kui Yuanshan also moved forward and asked, “May I know how powerful you are?”

A grin formed on the Blood Lord’s smile. “You can try challenging me.”

“Sure!” As soon as Kui Yuanshan finished speaking, he extended a finger, after which a Spiritual Power Disc appeared. The patterns on it were intricate and abstruse.

A hideous-looking Dragon head stuck out from the disc, followed by its huge figure as it zigzagged towards the Blood Lord.

Despite his nonchalance, he had fully activated his power.

Faced with such an attack, the Blood Lord pushed out his fist as a huge layer of blood light appeared and engulfed the Dragon. Their Spiritual Powers clashed as a buzzing sound was continuously heard.

The Blood Lord staggered for a bit as the Dragon disappeared at the same time.

“The peak of the Cloud River Realm!” The eyes of the cultivators from the allied forces brightened.

Having witnessed the Heavenly Sage’s power, all of them were wary of the Blood Lord. Now, it seemed that the Heavenly Sage had only made use of the Blood River Grand Ward’s power, and it wasn’t his own power. It also had nothing to do with the Blood Lord.

When the Blood Lord made a move, his true power was revealed.

Even though he was strong, he hadn’t transcended the limit of the Cloud River Realm.

He had domineeringly given them two options, but it seemed that he wasn’t as powerful as he appeared.

Guang Jing pressed his palms together and held them in front of his chest. With an amiable expression, he said, “Mister, we have no intention of going against Blood Boundary. Please go back to where you come from.”

Although he knew the Blood Race members were ill-intentioned, the turn of events was too shocking. Before they found out more about the Blood Race, it would be unwise to get into a conflict with them.

Now, the best strategy was to chase the Blood Lord away.

Guang Jing reckoned that since the Blood Lord could come, he certainly could go back.

“It seems that you’ve made a decision,” the Blood Lord said impassively. “In that case…”

He raised his hand and brought it down. “Kill them!”

Under the Heavenly Gully, many figures shot out from the blood sea. All of them were Blood Race members with red skin and pointed ears. In the blink of an eye, roughly ten thousand Blood Race members had revealed themselves, and even more of them were still swimming in the blood sea.

The expressions of the cultivators from the allied forces changed as they hurriedly activated their powers.

The war broke out at that instant.

The intensity of this war was different from the one where the allied forces had gone against the Heavenly Gully Cult. The Blood Race members were apparently more powerful than the Cult members, and their Secret Techniques were mysterious. It was the first time these cultivators dealt with such enemies, so many of them were soon killed or injured.

On the other hand, the surviving Cult members were ecstatic.

They initially thought that they were doomed, so they were surprised at the turn of events. With the Heavenly Sage leading the way, they charged towards the cultivators from the allied forces.

Many people lost their lives on the battlefield as the cultivators from the allied forces were on the losing side.

…

In the hut of the Valley of Medicine, Lu Ye looked at Ye Liuli, who was lying on the bed, with a frown.

The moment the anomaly took place at the Heavenly Gully, Ye Liuli shrieked and passed out.

After they arrived at the valley, she had mostly recovered following the Divine Healer’s treatment. Surprisingly, she suffered a relapse all of a sudden.

Moreover, this time was different from what she had experienced in the past.

Presently, the back of her clothes had been torn apart. The centipede-like birthmark on her back seemed to have grown larger, and there was a blood light around the birthmark, which cast a red glow on her fair back.

At first glance, one might think that the birthmark had been torn apart by a mysterious force.

Yi Yi was anxious, but there was nothing she could do to help. She could only pray that the Divine Healer’s treatment would be effective.

“All of you, please go out first,” the Divine Healer said while turning Ye Liuli over.

Following her order, Lu Ye and Yi Yi left the hut.

Outside the hut, Huang Liang looked dazedly in the distance.

Over the past few days, he had been recuperating in the valley. Since he frequently contacted those from the Imperial Sect, he was aware of what was going on with the allied forces.

He had received the news that the Heavenly Sage had single-handedly dealt with three top cultivators, and he couldn’t believe it.

The turn of events at the Heavenly Gully also made him flustered.

“Lu Ye…” Yi Yi called out while following Huang Liang’s gaze.

Lu Ye squinted and looked in the distance where there seemed to be blood light surging under the Heavenly Gully. It was as though doomsday had arrived. Despite the long distance, he still felt uneasy.

He was shocked at the fact that what was going on with the Heavenly Gully matched the reaction of Ye Liuli’s birthmark on her back.

The centipede-like birthmark already looked similar to the Heavenly Gully, and as their changes matched each other now, Lu Ye formed some speculation.

[Perhaps the Heavenly Gully’s reaction could be perfectly reflected on Ye Liuli’s figure. But why is it, though? Ye Liuli is just a young lady from Tyrant Blade Manor. What does she have anything to do with the Heavenly Gully?]

In that case, there was an explanation as to why Ye Liuli was struck with an illness. The anomaly at the Heavenly Gully had reflected on the woman, causing her to suffer a relapse.

Hence, if they wanted to cure Ye Liuli, they would have to settle the Heavenly Gully.

“What’s going on at the Heavenly Gully, Senior?” Lu Ye asked.

Although the Valley of Medicine wasn’t an isolated place, it was hard for them to get any information from outside. However, Huang Liang was different. He was the Sect Master of the Imperial Sect, so he was aware of everything that was going on in the world.

He had updated Lu Ye and the others on what the allied forces were up to. Ye Liuli and Yi Yi were pleased that a menace like the Heavenly Gully Cult was about to be destroyed.

“No way… No way…” Huang Liang muttered. It was as though he didn’t hear Lu Ye.

Something unexpected must’ve happened at the Heavenly Gully that made someone like him fall into a dazed state.

Also, it must be something unimaginable.

“Hahaha!” Suddenly, Huang Liang started laughing hysterically as he staggered for a bit. “The Blood Race and Blood Boundary? No way such a ridiculous thing has happened!”

“Senior…” Yi Yi looked worriedly at him.

Lu Ye furrowed his brows. He had no idea what Huang Liang was talking about when the latter mentioned the Blood Race and Blood Boundary.

A moment later, Huang Liang pulled himself together and stiffly turned to look at Lu Ye. “Little friend, do you believe there are people from another world?”

Lu Ye thought that strictly speaking, he and Yi Yi were people from another world too.

“The Dragon Throne!” Lu Ye replied calmly.

Huang Liang was startled for a moment before coming to his senses. He nodded and said, “Yes. It’s rumoured that the Dragon Throne didn’t come from Soaring Dragon Boundary. In that case, it’s something from another world, and it’s only natural that there are people from a different world as well. I guess I’m like the frog at the bottom of the well.”

He wiped his face with his hand and continued bitterly, “The Heavenly Sage had built a Blood River Grand Ward that spanned across dozens of kilometres just to invite some guests from another world!”
