In a radius of dozens of kilometres around the battlefield, both parties clashed. Blood scattered everywhere, and vitality was dissipating fast.

In Soaring Dragon Boundary, no cultivator had ever experienced such a large-scale war.

Usually, not many people would be involved in a fight between cultivators. The biggest battle ever took place in this world was a conflict between several Sects. Nevertheless, none of them were determined to destroy each other.

Presently, the war that involved the two parties was significantly more severe than the fight between several Sects. Over a hundred thousand cultivators from Soaring Dragon Boundary had come together.

Although there were fewer people on the Blood Race’s side, they still had seventy thousand to eighty thousand people.

This was no longer a battle. It was a war!

On the battlefield, there would be people dying every second. The war was intense as it wasn’t obvious which party would gain the upper hand.

Lu Ye hid among the cultivators from Soaring Dragon Boundary and worked with them to kill the enemies.

The cultivators in this world had never experienced such a large-scale war before, and it was the same case for Lu Ye.

The biggest fight he had ever come across was when he faced over two thousand cultivators from Thousand Demon Ridge on his own in the mine. However, the fight wasn’t comparable to what he was going through.

On one hand, there were the invaders, and on the other hand, there were the defenders of their homeland. Both parties clashed like they were two colossal waves. In the middle of everything, the individuals were like the spray blown from the crests of waves. They could only go with the flow since they were unable to control anything.

Lu Ye was trying to minimise his consumption of power.

He had no idea how long the war would last. Anyway, a war of such a scale wouldn’t end in a short time. Therefore, it was important for him to save his Spiritual Power while effectively killing the enemies.

Moreover, unlike the local cultivators, he could earn battle points by destroying the enemies.

As such, he didn’t behave like a Combat Cultivator when dealing with the enemies at this moment. He wandered around the battlefield and would only make a move when there was a chance instead of directly clashing with the Blood Race members. Now, he was focused on killing the enemies who were on their last legs.

He would achieve his goal whenever he wielded his Inviolable Saber. Besides earning battle points, he could also lighten the burden of the cultivators in this world. It was like killing two birds with one stone.

With that in mind, he went on to earn a lot of battle points.

Amber crouched down on his shoulder as their vitalities intertwined with each other, allowing him to borrow some power from the tiger.

Yi Yi hid beneath the ground and followed in his footsteps. She wouldn’t show up easily. Only when Lu Ye was in danger would she appear out of the blue and work with Lu Ye to kill the enemies.

As time passed, Lu Ye kept wandering around different parts of the battlefield. He had no idea how many enemies he had destroyed. His entire figure was dyed red, and the noise of the war was continuously heard. Wherever he went, he could see the ripped corpses of both parties.

While killing the enemies, he had also been paying attention to what was going on at the altar.

If they wanted to win the war, they could either kill all the Blood Race members or destroy the altar.

Lu Ye couldn’t determine if they could kill all the Blood Race members. In such a large-scale war, his influence was insignificant.

However, he could play a key part in trying to destroy the altar.

The Blood Race members had built a Defensive Ward around the altar, which was why the Spirit Ships were rendered useless. Nevertheless, if he could break the Defensive Ward, the Spirit Ships’ attacks could directly strike the altar.

In that case, even if they didn’t manage to destroy all Blood Race members, they would still win the war.

After the Defensive Ward was activated, Lu Ye started trying to find the Ward Node and figure out the weaknesses of the ward. To him, it wasn’t hard to break this ward. What was difficult was how he could break through the Blood Race members’ defence line and reach the altar.

As long as he could go near the altar, he would only need roughly ten breaths of time to break the ward.

However, he still hadn’t found a chance.

On this chaotic battlefield, the Blood Race members were serious about protecting the altar. If he dared to go near it, he would be targeted by the Blood Race members. When that happened, he would be doomed.

[I need to be patient!]

Lu Ye suppressed his urge and continued wandering around the battlefield.

As time passed, the situation became clearer.

Much to their surprise, the cultivators from Soaring Dragon Boundary had gained the upper hand on the battlefield.

Before the war, these cultivators had heard a lot about the Blood Race members through various channels. As such, they were wary of them. Only when they came into contact with them did they realise even though the Blood Race members looked different from Humans, and they were adept at many strange Blood Secret Techniques, they were made of flesh. They would be in pain when they were hurt, and they would die if they were decapitated. Therefore, the fear in these cultivators’ hearts subsided at that moment.

Moreover, in the past few days, the three hegemons had been telling everyone about the crisis they were facing and the Blood Race’s real intention. Therefore, all the cultivators who took part in the war understood the dire consequences of losing the war.

The Blood Race members were indeed fearless and adept at fighting, but the cultivators from Soaring Dragon Boundary were equally brave since they couldn’t retreat.

It was like there was a cliff to their back. When the cultivators in this world were pushed over the edge, they would be united against the enemies, and their powers mustn’t be underestimated.

Furthermore, the cultivators from Soaring Dragon Boundary had more people on their side than the Blood Race.

If not for what happened in the Valley of Medicine, the outcome of the war would’ve been unclear. During the battle in the valley, the Blood Race suffered immense losses. On the other hand, the cultivators of this world, who were supposedly doomed, were saved. As the Blood Race’s power was weakened, the cultivators in this world had the right to go against their enemies.

Under the Heavenly Gully, the Blood Lord hovered in mid-air and looked dispassionately at the chaotic battlefield. He snorted. “These ants are not bad.”

When the Blood Race members invaded a world, they could usually suppress the other party with ease. There were also some rare incidents where the local cultivators would resist.

However, it was even rarer for the cultivators of any world to gain the upper hand when dealing with them head-on.

Anyway, such an incident wasn’t unprecedented.

Despite his impassive tone, there was a hint of fury on the Blood Lord’s face. It seemed that he felt humiliated by these cultivators’ bravery.

As the leader of the Blood Race members who invaded this world, the price he paid and the rewards he got in this world would become the capital for him to fight for his status in Blood Boundary. If he paid too high a price, he would be at a disadvantage.

Even though such an incident was rare, the Blood Race members were well prepared to deal with it.

“It’ll all be pointless in the end!” The Blood Lord’s voice reverberated across the battlefield through the use of his Spiritual Power. Regardless of how clamorous the war was, his contempt could hardly be concealed.

As soon as he finished speaking, an anomaly happened on the battlefield.

Somewhere on the battlefield, Yi Yi anxiously emerged from the ground and stood beside Lu Ye before saying, “Lu Ye, they’ve built a ward around here!”

Before Lu Ye even came to his senses, he saw some white fog billowing from the ground and soon spreading across the place.

The white fog came from the blood of the cultivators who were killed on the battlefield.

He even saw a blood mist billowing from a dead Blood Race member nearby. As that happened, the Blood Race member, whom he had just killed, withered quickly. It was as though the corpse had been left there for countless years.

Previously, the Heavenly Sage could make use of the Blood River Grand Ward to stave off the three top cultivators, who were Huang Liang and the others, on his own. He could also make use of the blood of the cultivators from both Heavenly Gully Cult and the allied forces to activate the Blood River Grand Ward to invite the Blood Race members to come over.

In fact, the Blood Race members were the ones who had taught him these moves.

What the Heavenly Sage could use were only some basic skills.

The mysterious ward that the Blood Race members were trying to activate was the essence.

As long as there was blood in those corpses, it could be used by the Blood Race members.

In just about ten breaths of time, the entire battlefield was covered with a blood mist. The Blood Qi stank so terribly that some people started retching.

The blood mist was only the beginning.

As soon as the blood mist covered the entire battlefield, all the Blood Race members appeared thrilled. They greedily absorbed the blood mist through their mouths, noses, and pores. At the same time, the blood colour in their eyes thickened.

The cultivators from Soaring Dragon Boundary were shocked to realise that after these Blood Race members devoured the blood mist, their powers increased significantly as though they had just consumed a booster.

It wouldn’t have mattered if that was it.

The problem was that the cultivators in this world started seeing illusions and feeling uneasy while being engulfed in the blood mist.

Not only could the blood mist strengthen the Blood Race members’ powers, but it could also distract the minds of the cultivators from this world.

It was for this reason that Yi Yi, who had been hiding beneath the ground, quickly approached Lu Ye.

The average power wouldn’t affect her when she was beneath the ground. However, the blood mist was everywhere. Even an apparition like Yi Yi was affected. As soon as she realised something was off, she hurriedly hid inside Amber.

While the Blood Race members were ecstatic, the cultivators of Soaring Dragon Boundary were in despair. Countless cultivators from this world were killed just like that, and their blood was sucked out of their bodies by a mysterious force and was used to replenish the blood mist.

The cultivators from this world were losing their advantage fast. If nothing unexpected happened, they would be defeated in an hour.

At the most critical moment, the three major Sects stepped forward.

When the Buddhist chanting sounded, the exhilarating Grandeur Qi was spread, and the Secret Technique of the Imperial Sect was used, the minds of these cultivators seemed to have been cleansed by a gentle force in an instant. The odds that were stacked against them were gone.

They calmed down quickly and stopped seeing illusions.

During peaceful times, many Sects were unwilling to admit that the three hegemons were the most powerful. That was because when it came to individual powers, almost every Tier-One Sect had Ninth-Order Masters. The difference was the number of Ninth-Order Masters they had.

In Soaring Dragon Boundary, there were several Sects that were as powerful as Heavenly Gully Cult. They had always wanted to replace the three hegemons.

There was no reason that they couldn’t be the hegemons.

However, it wasn’t until this moment when the outcome of the war would determine the future of Soaring Dragon Boundary that everyone realised the three hegemons lived up to their names as the Sects with heritages spanning across a thousand years.
