Cultivating Disciples to Breakthrough

As the rabbit demon beast made its way back to the Star Shattering Sect together with its two subordinates, it soon found itself being distracted by a recently unearthed spirit stone deposit near the old territory of the Cloud Sky Kingdom located a short distance away from the Star Shattering Sect itself… And upon sensing the large amount of spirit stone present in the spirit stone deposit, it wasted no time in descending and taking control of it before anyone else happened upon it and claimed it for themselves.

Squeak!?

However, the excitement of finding a large quantity of spirt stones didn’t last for long, as it quickly discovered that it would first have to mine the spirit stones and clean them properly before they could be eaten, something that it had never encountered before and left in a rather distraught state.

So many spirit stones, yet it couldn’t eat any of them…

”Lord rabbit? Is there anything wrong?

Hearing its trusted human subordinate suddenly calling out to it from the side in a worried tone, the rabbit demon beast suddenly sprung back to life again as a new idea plan appeared inside its little head.

Indeed, even if it couldn’t personally mine out and clean the spirit stones, couldn’t its subordinates do this for it?!

Squeak… Squeak!

With this in mind, the rabbit demon beast didn’t waste a second before instructing its two subordinates to do just that, as it found a good place to laze around while its two subordinates went to work mining spirit stones for it.

””…””

Faced with the unreasonable request of their master, the human and squirrel demon beast could only awkwardly look at each other before both of them descended into a small fracture that led into part of the spirit stone deposit to carry out their master’s demand.

Even if both of them were far stronger than the normal Qi Condensation Realm or normal mortals who would do such tedious work, they had no way to keep up with the consumption of their master…

Squeak? Squeak!

In the end, only after the two of them toiled for a week straight inside the small mine they had ended up creating, did their master finally realize that the spirit stones mined by the two of them were nowhere near enough and pulled them out of the mine to return to the Star Shattering Sect like they had originally been doing before stumbling upon the recently unearthed spirit stone deposit.

…

”This is the Falling Star City!?

As the group of three arrived at the entrance to the Falling Star City, the human cultivator who had become fully subservient to the rabbit demon beast could not help exclaiming in shock after seeing the magnificent Falling Star City that had now grown beyond the base of the Ninth Star Peak and had started to grow towards the base of the other mountains.

In size alone, although the city was nowhere near a capital city of an empire like the Sky Empire or the surrounding empire, it was still far larger than the capital city of most large kingdoms… And more importantly than that, it was obvious to anyone that the city was still in the process of rapidly expanding, as countless construction projects could be seen around the edges of the city.

For the Soul Ascension Realm cultivator now following the rabbit demon beast, this was quite a shocking sight, as the Falling Star City he had learnt about while looking through the information of the Star Shattering Sect was nowhere this large. Not to mention, he could feel the presence of a large number of Nascent Soul Realm cultivators and even a few Domain Lord Realm cultivators inside the city itself!

If there are so many powerful cultivators inside the city acting as the sect’s connecting to the outside world, how many are there inside the sect itself…

As he thought about this to himself, the Soul Ascension Realm cultivator who had once thought nothing of the Star Shattering Sect could not help feeling a shiver run down his spine as he unconsciously turned to look at his master casually swaggering into the Falling Star City under the respectful gazes of the two Nascent Soul Realm Elders who were in charge of guarding the main entrance to the city.

Squeak?

However, his master soon turned around to look towards him with a slightly annoyed expression. Making him realize that he had just been standing in front of the entrance while spacing out.

”Ah! I’m coming!”

Knowing that he had trouble his master, he didn’t waste any time as he rushed into the Falling Star City under the surprised gazes of the two elders guarding the entrance. Soon finding himself directly behind his master together with the squirrel demon beast once again, as the three of them made their way through the city in a short time before arriving at the path leading up the Ninth Star Peak and into the Star Shattering Sect itself.

”Ah, if it isn’t the little rabbit of Elder Xuan.”

Just as at this moment, as his master was about to walk up the path, a surprised voice echoed out from behind, as figure wearing the official robe belonging to an elder of the Star Shattering Sect and with a cultivation realm at the Half Step Domain Lord Realm, only a single step away from reaching the Domain Lord Realm, appeared behind them.

Squeak?

Hearing someone calling out to it, the rabbit demon beast turned around in confusion before both of its eyes started shining with excitement after seeing the person who had appeared-

Whoosh~!

Wasting no time as it excitedly dashed over towards this person.

”Hehe, quite excited to see me.” Seeing this the elder smiled happily as he took out a bag of spirit stones and handed it over to the rabbit demon beast with a smile on his face. ”Hm? You are…?” Only after all of this did the elder notice the person standing together with the squirrel demon beast where the rabbit demon beast had once been.

”Greetings elder, I’m a subordinate of lord rabbit!”

”Huh? A… A subordinate of lord- Wait… Subordinate of the rabbit demon beast!?”

”Yes, I’m one of the lord’s subordinates!” Not knowing how to feel as he saw the expression of absolute disbelief on the face of the elder, the once proud Soul Ascension Realm cultivator could only bite his tongue and answer with a prideful expression. Not daring to do anything else out of fear that his lord would end up punishing him.

”I see… I’m the current elder in charge of the Hall of Beast Tamers, well then, if you will excuse me, I… I have something to do. Please do take care of your lord…” Hearing this, the elder who identified himself as the elder in charge of the Hall of Beast Tamers turned around and bolted up the path into the sect.

Although the beast tamers of the Star Shattering Sect could be considered rather unique among other beast tamers in their care of demon beast, it was still a bit too far to become a subordinate of demon beast for these fanatics.

”…”

Knowing how weird it was, the Soul Ascension Realm cultivator could not help looking at his master busy enjoying the spirit stones handed over by the elder from the Hall of Beast Tamers while silently crying on the inside.

It was not that he wanted to become a subordinate of the rabbit demon beast in the first place, it was just that this had been forced upon him in a life and death situation. If he didn’t end up becoming the subordinate of the rabbit demon beast, it was likely that he would have ended up joining the rest of the Soul Ascension Realm cultivators who had attacked the Iron Sky Kingdom.

Even though his current situation was humiliating, and his future was full of unknowns, at the very least, he could continue keeping his life in this way… And who knew, he might even be able to free himself from his current situation considering that the master of the rabbit demon beast that had been mentioned just now should be the Soul Ascension Realm Expert from the Star Shattering Sect.

If he ended up meeting that person, he felt that he should have a chance to escape his fate as a subordinate of a demon beast and possibly even get the status of an elder of the Star Shattering Sect.

Even if doing so meant that he would have to swear a dao oath and stake his life on it, it was far better than his current fate of being reduced to a subordinate of a rabbit demon beast that could end his life with a single thought.

At the very least, being and elder of the Star Shattering Sect meant that he would be able to retain some of the pride he had lost after becoming a first-class bootlicker under the rabbit demon beast.
