Cultivating Disciples to Breakthrough

”Ahm… So, what do you say? Want to become my disciple?” Watching the grandfather and granddaughter duo conversing with each other, Xuan Hao decides to interrupt the two before focusing his full attention on Chun Hua.

”Huh!?” Not having expected Xuan Hao to ask her again all of a sudden, Chun Hua froze for a short moment as she turned to look up at her grandfather with a confused expression on her face. ”If you can really help my family and your Star Shattering Sect is as strong as you claim, I wouldn’t have anything against my granddaughter becoming your disciple. Maybe she would be able to progress further than she could under my guidance…” Knowing what his granddaughter was asking without her saying anything, the old man frowned uncomfortably as he said this while glancing towards Xuan Hao out of the corner of his eye.

Although he knew nothing about Xuan Hao, he could at least confirm through his granddaughter that he did not come from anywhere in the Astorion Empire and wasn’t related to the calamity that his family was about to go through.

Not to mention, from what his granddaughter had told him about her brief infiltration of the Star Shattering Sect, he could tell that there was some authenticity to his words about the Star Shattering Sect being stronger than the different ruling families of the frontier city… And there was also the fact that Xuan Hao was someone he couldn’t see through even with his strong cultivation base. If the other party did have bad intentions towards his Chun Family, he understood that there was no reason for him to go about things in such a roundabout way. Especially given that his current injured state wasn’t that hard to find out about through the other three ruling families who had long since sold off this information.

In such a situation, he would at most be capable of contending against the three other old people behind the three other ruling families, as he was a few minor realms above them in terms of strength.

Contending with a completely unknown opponent stronger than himself… That would be difficult even if he wasn’t injured, let alone now that he had been injured and was in a weakened state.

”Grandfather…” Not aware of the inner thoughts of her grandfather, Chun Hua felt a sense of relief after hearing him giving his go ahead. Understanding that her family had close to no chance of surviving through the calamity without help… And with this in mind, Chun Hua turned to look at Xuan Hao with a serious expression on her face. Having finally come to a decision. ”Senior, I’m willing to become your disciple!” ”Great! Now… What is the calamity that is about to destroy the Chun Family?” Smiling happily after Chun Hua officially agreed to become his disciple, Xuan Hao wasted no time asking about the calamity that involved the destruction of the Chun Family. After all, if he wanted to keep this fifth disciple, he would have to first resolve this matter.

Only after her family situation had been sorted out would she be able to take her back to the Star Shattering Sect and introduce her to her senior brothers and sisters.

”This…” Hearing Xuan Hao wanted to know about the calamity of the Chun Family, Chun Hua nervously looked over at her grandfather again, who in turn nodded at her as a sign for her to continue.

”Ha… Okay… It’s like this…” Only after getting a nod from the old man, did she calm down before starting to explain the current situation of the Chun Family and the calamity that was looming above it…

Listening to Chun Hua as she talked about what her parents had discovered before she had been separated during an ambush on her way back to the main family, Xuan Hao was surprised to learn that the calamity that would bring about the destruction of the Chun Family didn’t come from any of the other ruling families, but instead from a large noble family located at the capital of the Astorion Empire.

Apparently, according to Chun Hua, this large noble family had recently been able to give birth to a third Earth Immortal. Placing them far above a family like the Chun Family in terms of strength.

In the end, the Chun Family and a noble family from the capital city wouldn’t normally have anything to do with each other, but it just so happened that Chun Hua’s grandfather got injured in the primeval jungle fighting with a powerful demon beast, thus forcing him to enter seclusion to recover from his injuries.

It was during this time that the noble family managed to learn about this through one of the other ruling families that had sold the information to them. Resulting in the large noble family starting to covet the position as one of the four people in charge of the frontier city. The reason for this being that the frontier city was an extremely important city in the Astorion Empire.

Outside of the capital city, it could be considered the city with the largest number of resources flowing through it. Making the four ruling families far wealthier than most powers with an ancestor in the Dao Seed Realm.

But… Even if they knew about the injuries of Chun Hua’s grandfather, they couldn’t take direct action, as it would invite the wrath of the imperial family.

In the end, this resulted in them moving in secret. Collaborating with one of the other ruling families to destroy the branches of the Chun Family and seal them off from the outside world.

By the point that Chun Hua’s parents learnt about the situation from capturing one of the people sent off to destroy one of the branches of the Chun Family, there was not much time left to send a message through to the imperial family and inform them about the situation… And by the time Chun Hua returned to inform her grandfather, it was already too late. The noble family had managed to successfully seal off the frontier city and prevent any information from leaking out.

Informing the three other ruling families of the frontier city didn’t work either, as one of them was working together with the noble family, while the rest had been offered enough resources by the noble family to remain neutral and not interfere.

As for how the noble family planned to take over the Chun Family’s position in the frontier city and install their newly promoted Earth Immortal Realm Expert… That was not something Chun Hua’s parents had not managed to find out about.

However, considering that the noble family had already begun to move against the Chun Family, it would not be surprising that they already had a plan set in place for ensuring that their newly promoted Earth Immortal would be the person taking over after the Chun Family was gone.

In the end, the destruction of the Chun Family would be explained as a result of a large number of demon beasts suddenly emerging from the primeval jungle…

”So… In the end, they want to push all the blame on the demon beasts…?” Muttering this to himself as he listened to Chun Hua finishing her explanation, Xuan Hao could not help narrowing his eyes.

No matter how convincing the noble family was, there was no way that the imperial family would simply believe that the Chun Family had been destroyed by a random flock of demon beasts that had emerged from the primeval jungle. Especially considering that said demon beast wave only happened to destroy the Chun Family and nothing else…

”I know what you are thinking, but it isn’t that simple, I think they are planning to cause a demon beast wave by intentionally provoking some of the powerful demon beasts in the primeval jungle. Taking the chance to deal with me and my family during the chaos.” Seeing the doubtful expression on Xuan Hao’s face, Chun Hua’s grandfather decided to elaborate a bit on what Chun Hua said at the end.

”Intentionally causing a demon beast wave… Indeed, if the demon beasts really do show up, it gives their story substance. Not to mention, if the other three ruling families cooperate with them, there is little chance of the imperial family doubting them. After all, the demon beast wave is real, and the Chun Family won’t be the only one affected.” Nodding his head as he heard what Chun Hua’s grandfather said, Xuan Hao felt that the current situation of the Chun Family was indeed dangerous.

Not to mention the noble family with three people at the Dao Seed Realm or the fact that one of the three ruling families with a Dao Seed Realm Experts was secretly cooperating with them, just the upcoming demon beast wave alone would be enough to endanger the Chun Family whose Dao Seed Realm Expert was currently in an injured sate!
