Cultivating Disciples to Breakthrough

Damn all of this! Why hasn’t that guy shown up yet!? He and those people should have noticed what happened the moment I was knocked into these damnable demon beasts!

Unaware of what was happening outside due to the massive demon beasts blocking her sight, while at the same time not giving her any energy to spare on trying to figure out what was happening outside with her divine sense, the old woman from the noble family could not help silently cursing the four people currently fighting against Xuan Hao not too far away.

If things continue like this, I might really end up dying…

However, even though she cursed at the incompetence of the four who hadn’t been able to save her from the demon beasts yet, she also felt a profound sense of fear welling up inside her, as the lifesaving treasures and talismans saved up over a lifetime began to run dry.

At this point, she had already exhausted most of her talismans and was only left with a few protective artifacts that would at most allow her to hold on for another half minute against the powerful attacks of the seven powerful demon beasts.

Though this should be more than enough time for someone to come help her, she felt her hope of being saved dwindling with each passing second, as a realization dawned on her… And that was the fact that the unknown cultivator who had ambushed her and landed her in her current life and death situation had somehow managed to prevent the four from coming to her rescue.

With this in mind, the only way she could she herself surviving her current deadly situation would be to hold on for long enough that one of the four could break through and reach her, or for some powerful cultivator to appear and intimidate the group of demon beasts into running away, both of which were looking increasingly unlikely with each passing second. In the end, she was left with no other choice than to try and think of another way, something that was easy said than done with seven demon beasts doing their best to try and swallow her whole…

Rumble-!

However, before she had a chance to think up of another way to escape her current situation without relying on the help of someone else, a loud rumbling sound echoed out from the primeval jungle not too far away as a massive demon beast the size of a small mountain appeared in the distance. Each step caused the ground to shake as it made its way in the direction of the frontier city without a single care in the world.

From a single glance, it looked like the massive demon beast was just out on a casual stroll and happened to be heading in the direction of the frontier city by accident. Not paying any attention to the old woman from the noble family or the rest of the human and demon beast cultivators in its path.

Feeling the abysmal aura surrounding the mountain sized demon beast that seemed to swallow her whole, the old woman from the noble family could not help feeling a shiver run down her spine. ”C-Celestial Immortal Realm demon beast!” Barely saying this to herself as she froze on the spot together with the seven demon beasts that had been trying to kill her just seconds ago, the old woman from the noble family felt like her situation had somehow become even more dangerous compared to before.

Not to mention escaping while the demon beasts weren’t attacking her, she couldn’t even move her body as she felt the terrifying aura of the Celestial Immortal Realm demon beast bearing down on her-

Bang! Bang! Bang!

Forcing her and the seven demon beasts to lose control of their bodies as they fell from the sky and crashed into the ground below.

Although resisting the might of a Celestial Immortal Realm demon beast was possible for someone in the Dao Seed Realm, the old woman from the noble family and the seven demon beasts could not even be considered to have reached the early stage of the Dao Seed Realm that was categorized as someone who had at least eight layers around their dao seed.

”Huh?”

”C-Celestial Immortal Realm demon beast!? Why did such a powerful demon beast show up!?”

”This is bad…. We have to get inside the formation before it notices us!”

Not too far away, the four Dao Seed Realm cultivators fighting Xuan Hao also noticed the sudden appearance of the Celestial Immortal Realm demon beast. Only, they were a bit luckier, as the terrifying might of the demon beast had not reached them yet. Giving them an opportunity to escape back towards the frontier city for safety.

What about saving the old woman from the noble family? None of them thought about this, as all of them rushed back towards the frontier city for safety. Even the noble family cultivator who was covered in a blood red aura while attacking Xuan Hao in a crazy manner seemed to wake up with the appearance of the Celestial Immortal Realm demon beast.

”…”

In the end, Xuan Hao was left floating alone in the air between the Celestial Immortal Realm demon beast and the frontier city of the Astorion Empire.

Out of everything he had thought might happen, this was not how he thought things would come to an end.

Whoosh-!

Feeling the terrifying might of the Celestial Immortal Realm demon beast washing over him the next second, Xuan Hao could not help frowning as he was forced to use all his strength to keep himself from plummeting to the ground like the old woman from the noble family and the seven demon beasts that had been attacking her.

Although his strength was the strongest, he was still far from being comparable to the Celestial Immortal Realm. Even more so considering that he had a feeling that the mountain sized demon beast approaching the frontier city was strong even for someone in the Celestial Immortal Realm.

Of course, he didn’t have any way to confirm this as he had never really encountered someone in the Celestial Immortal Realm before and could only guess from what little information he had on the realm.

RUMBLE-!

Not a second after he thought about this, a loud rumbling sound echoed out from the frontier city behind him, as the formation seemed to have detected the approaching Celestial Immortal Realm demon beast. Instantly causing the formation to undergo a terrifying transformation as countless ancient symbols flew across the surface of the barrier guarding the frontier city. Soon erupting with an aura that made Xuan Hao feel a shiver run down his spine.

If before, the formation could be considered like a sleeping dragon that had just casually dealt with his dao domain without exerting any real strength as it happened to pass by, the dragon had now woken up. Ready for battle at any moment.

Rumble~

Similar to Xuan Hao who instantly noticed the change in the guardian formation of the frontier city, the Celestial Immortal Realm demon beast in the distance also noticed the formation as a hint of interest flashed past its colossal eyes. Not caring about anyone in its path as it began to move in the direction of the frontier city to satiate its interest-

”Nooo-!”

”ROooar-!”

THUMP-!

CRACK-!

Along the way, the old woman from the noble family and the demon beasts who had plummeted to the ground were directly crushed beneath the massive foot of the Celestial Immortal Realm demon beast while fearfully crying out together in a weird sense of comradery that had appeared at the last moment before death.

”This…”

Seeing this scene, Xuan Hao could not help feeling a shiver run down his spine as he watched the mountain sized demon beast getting closer-

Whoosh-!

And without a second thought, he turned around and escaped before he ended up being in the way of the terrifying demon beast and ending up like the old woman from the noble family. Only stopping after reaching a safe distance where he could observe the situation from afar.

Unfortunately, he wasn’t like the four Dao Seed Realm cultivators he had fought and had no way to enter the frontier city after the formation had been activated, but… Given that his fifth disciple was still inside the frontier city, he didn’t plan to leave even if staying would be dangerous. Especially considering that he had no idea if the formation had the ability to hold back the Celestial Immortal Realm demon beast.

In his mind, he was already getting ready to use the Drifting Cloud Steps to teleport into the frontier city the moment the formation broke and take his fifth disciple and her grandfather away before they were crushed under the Celestial Immortal Realm demon beast. The rest of the Chun Family simply wasn’t something he could save with his current strength; his priority was the safety of his fifth disciple and her grandfather…
