Cultivating Disciples to Breakthrough

Not long after the demon beast stopped laughing at the Celestial Immortal from the Astorion turned and began to leave in the same direction as the dragon turtle demon beast. Considering that he had only come to pick up the dragon turtle demon beast before it started causing damage and potentially invited the wrath of the surrounding human experts, the barely human demon beast had no intention of fighting with the Celestial Immortal cultivator floating above the frontier city. Even more so after he noticed the clear killing intent in the other party’s eyes after he laughed at him.

”Running away?” Seeing this, the man from the Astorion Empire frowned on the outside, while secretly feeling happy that the demon beasts had decided to leave without a fight. After all, he had no confidence in facing two Celestial Immortal Realm demon beasts alone.

Even though he had already called for help from the other two, he had no idea when they would arrive with the fastest speed being a few minutes.

”Hmph! Don’t think I can’t tell what you are thinking, human! I will make sure to come back again in the future when our agreement runs out. At that point, I hope you won’t run away!” Frowning visibly as he said this, the demon beast seemed to have sensed something as it had sped off in the direction of the primeval jungle just after finishing its sentence.

Whoosh-!

Whoosh-!

Not a second later, two new figures appeared above the frontier city.

These two figures belonged to none other than the remaining two Celestial Immortals of the Astorion Empire, who had rushed over the moment they had received the news of there being more than one Celestial Immortal Realm demon beast present. Even the old man who would normally avoid trouble had appeared.

”They left already…? Haaa… What a waste of time, I will be leaving…”

Whoosh~!

However, before the two others even had time to say anything to him, he jumped back into the sky and disappeared. Having already determined that the situation had been resolved after noticing the two demon beasts returning to the primeval jungle.

””…””

Seeing this, both the middle-aged man and young woman couldn’t help looking in the direction that the old man had left in with disbelief. Although the demon beasts were indeed leaving and making their way back to the primeval jungle, shouldn’t he at least stay around for a period of time to ensure that there wasn’t some kind of trap in place waiting for them to lower their guard and give the other party the opportunity to kill?

With such thoughts in mind, the two could only sigh restlessly as they began to study the matter that had just taken place in more detail, both of them wondering where a massive demon beast like the dragon turtle had suddenly popped up from.

Considering that they visited the primeval jungle at least once every hundred or so years to check out the situation of the demon beasts there, they wanted to find out where the new and powerful dragon turtle demon beast had come from and what its intentions for showing up at the frontier city was.

However, after more than half an hour passed like this, neither of them could figure out where the dragon turtle demon beast had come from and could only conclude that it might have come from the somewhere deeper inside the primeval jungle that was off limits to humans.

”Ah! Now that I think about it…” Having thought about something all of a sudden, the young woman turned to look at the man next to her with an uncertain expression on her face. ”It might be from one of those demon beast families in that place. Although they willingly surrendered back then and sealed themselves off across the remote regions of the core region, I doubt they plan to sit still forever and allow us humans to continue enjoying the most abundant land of the core region.” ”Hm? Those families of demon beasts?” Frowning as he heard what the young woman, the man seemed to show a doubtful expression on his face as he seemed to demand for her to explain.

”Indeed, an unknown Celestial Immortal Realm demon beast isn’t that difficult to explain, but this dragon turtle demon beast should at least have reached the Middle Stages of the Celestial Immortal Realm. Possibly even beyond that!

The only place that it could remain hidden with such a level of strength for long enough to reach such strength would be the territory under those demon beast families. Don’t forget, a large portion of those families reside in the depth of the primeval jungle!” Nodding her head as she said this, the young woman seemed to have convinced herself as she turned to look back in the direction of the capital city. ”This might be the prelude to another war with the demon beasts. Even if its not the case, I propose we use our power as one of the forces in charge of keeping an eye on the primeval jungle to call a meeting.”

”Another war with the demon beast!? You are moving far too fast, we should first contact the others in charge of keeping an eye on the primeval jungle before doing anything, you should know the importance of calling a meeting. If you don’t have anything serious and waster people’s time, the Astorion Empire might be erased!” Hearing what the young woman said, the middle-aged man who had remained relatively calm so far could not help loudly exclaiming this as he looked at the young woman like he was looking at a crazy person.

”This… Fine, we will ask the others first…” Knowing that she might indeed have jumped to a bit extreme conclusion after spotting the massive unknown demon beast that had appeared out of seemingly thin air, the young woman could only awkwardly nod her head with embarrassment before the two of them deactivated the guardian formation of the frontier city and made their way back towards the capital to see if they could find out more about the situation of the primeval jungle and if there had been any abnormalities recently.

Although an unknown demon beast at the Middle Stages of the Celestial Immortal Realm was close to impossible, it had happened a few times in the past with demon beast coming from the endless ocean… And the primeval jungle was to some extent connected to the endless ocean through the Blue Sea Empire.

Making it possible for a demon beast from the endless ocean to cross through the Blue Sea Empire undetected before entering the primeval jungle and making its way to the primeval jungle’s border with the Astorion Empire.

As for the death of the old woman from the noble family and what had happened in the frontier city before their arrival? Neither of them knew anything about this outside of the fact that they could sense that a Dao Seed Realm cultivator had fallen outside the frontier city a short time before their arrival… And given the large number of dead demon beasts around, they just presumed that the Dao Seed Realm cultivator had died protecting the capital before ultimately being killed by the dragon turtle demon beast.

Even though they felt this was a pity considering that the battle scars left behind on the scene showed that the other party had fought bravely against several powerful demon beasts at once, they couldn’t do much to punish the dragon turtle demon beast and could only feel a bit of justice at the fact that the other party had managed to drag down seven Dao Seed Realm demon beasts with her.

Outside of the brave soul that had perished, they also sensed the presence of Xuan Hao and the four others, but due to the fact that most of the battle scenes had been messed up by the dragon turtle demon beast before their arrival, they just thought that they had been helping the now dead old woman from the noble family in her fight.

Three Dao Seed Realm cultivators from the Frontier City, two from a noble family that had happened to pass by and a wandering Dao Seed realm cultivator…

In the eyes of the two Celestial Immortal Realm cultivators, a massive fight of epic proportions had taken place between humans and demon beasts before their arrival… And from how only a single human Dao Seed Realm cultivator had ended up dead, while seven demon beasts had perished, it was obvious that the human cultivators had ended up winning even with one less person.

In a sense, this made the two Celestial Immortals feel a bit proud as they had already thought of rewarding the Dao Seed Realm cultivators for their bravery after they returned. Blissfully unaware of what had actually happened before their arrival and how the old woman from the noble family had ended up dying together with the seven demon beasts.

Then again, there was a chance of them never finding out about this, as the noble family currently in need of all the help they could get, and the three ruling families with nothing to lose by staying silent might decide not to share what had happened in fear of missing out on these possible future rewards given by these Celestial Immortals…
