I am the Ultimate Villain, So What If I Kill a Protagonist

135: Chapter 135 Chrysanthemums withered, wounds scattered all over the ground”Benefactor, how does it feel to be alive?”

”You... you didn’t kill me?”

Jiang Chen’s face was filled with suspicion and wariness.

He did not understand why the other party, who had come to kill him, would show mercy.

”Amitabha. This poor monk never takes a life. However, if the Benefactor insists on visiting the Buddha, I can make an exception and send you on your way.”

”You... you aren’t one of Chu Yuan’s men?”

Jiang Chen seemed to have seen through the situation.

If this Monk were one of Chu Yuan’s men, there would be no chance of survival for him.

”Amitabha. How virtuous, how virtuous.”

”This poor monk is not anyone’s man; I am only a man of the Buddha. I came here simply because I saw that you are a rare talent, and I wish to take you as my disciple.”

Take him as a disciple?

Jiang Chen was dumbfounded.

This Monk, who had appeared out of nowhere, actually wanted to take him as a disciple.

He was a dignified Son of Destiny, a System owner—would he go and become someone’s apprentice?

”The Benefactor seems to look down on this poor monk?”

Jiesha looked indifferent; the other’s thoughts were practically written on his face.

Without waiting for Jiang Chen to explain, Jiesha continued, ”The Benefactor’s acting is too clumsy. It won’t be long before you are exposed, and when that happens, I trust the Benefactor knows better than this poor monk what will occur.”

The words struck a chord with Jiang Chen.

Once discovered, death would be the only outcome; there was no other path.

”If the Benefactor is willing to take this poor monk as a master, I will naturally help the Benefactor escape the sea of suffering. What does the Benefactor think?”

Under the threat, combined with the temptation, how could Jiang Chen, who was in a desperate situation, not be tempted?

Jiang Chen’s eyes darted around as he weighed the pros and cons.

This Monk’s strength was terrifying; he was likely no less formidable than Chu Yuan.

If he were willing to save him, Chu Yuan’s lackeys guarding outside would certainly be unable to stop them.

”Fine, I am willing to take you as my master, on the condition that you save me first.”

”Amitabha. Taking a master requires sincerity, not conditional bartering. If the Benefactor is not sincere, then there is nothing to discuss.”

Thieving monk, why is he so scheming?

Jiang Chen cursed inwardly, but on the surface, he had to ask calmly, ”Then what do you propose so that you can save me?”

”The Benefactor must first perform the master-disciple ceremony of three kneelings and nine kowtows. Once I formally accept you as a disciple, I will take you out.”

Take him as a master first?

Thump!

”Master, please accept your disciple’s kowtow.”

Jiang Chen did not hesitate; he knelt on the ground with a thud and kowtowed three times.

”Amitabha. Since you have taken me as your master, you are now my disciple and must obey my commands. If there is any act of betraying your master or destroying your ancestors, do not blame me for cleaning up the sect.”

”Master, rest assured, this disciple will definitely honor you in the future and will never commit any act of betraying my master or destroying my ancestors.”

After the solemn promise, Jiang Chen changed the subject, ”Master, this disciple is currently trapped in prison. I implore you to save me.”

Jiang Chen didn’t care about whether he took a master or not.

As long as he could be saved, never mind taking a master; if he were asked to kneel and call him grandfather, Jiang Chen probably wouldn’t even blink before agreeing.

”Put the matter of saving you aside for now; you should think about your current situation instead.”

”Master, what do you mean by that?”

”To tell you the truth, Chu Yuan has long since put a slow-acting poison in your food. If you do not detoxify immediately, you will surely die within three hours.”

Jiang Chen was scared half to death by Jiesha’s words.

He had finally met such an awesome master who could lead him to escape and offer hope for revenge.

If he were to just be poisoned to death like this, how could Jiang Chen be willing?

But he clearly had no symptoms of being poisoned?

Seeming to see through the other’s doubt, Jiesha pointed to Jiang Chen’s hands and said, ”Look at your face. Isn’t it pitch black? This is a sign of poison invading your head.”

”In the next moment, it will erode your entire brain, and no medicine will be able to save you.”

Following Jiesha’s guidance, Jiang Chen saw that, at some point, his face had turned a leaden, sickly color, a clear sign of severe poisoning.

Without the slightest hesitation, Jiang Chen knelt on the ground with a thud. He hugged Jiesha’s thigh, looking imploringly, ”Master, please save this disciple! Please, save this disciple quickly!”

In his view, his master was incredibly powerful and must have a way to cure him.

Jiesha stroked his chin, lost in thought.

After a long while, a flash of light suddenly appeared in his eyes.

”Master, do you have a way to cure this disciple?”

”There is a way, but you must have a spirit of fearless sacrifice,” Jiesha said, looking troubled.

”As long as Master can save this disciple’s life, this disciple will pay any price without regret.”

Jiang Chen gritted his teeth, speaking righteously.

”Although this poison is heading straight for your brain, its most critical point is located where your vital energy gathers.”

”As long as you cut off that vital energy, you can prevent the poison from spreading further and temporarily save your life.”

”Master, just tell me how this disciple should detoxify.”

Jiesha’s explanation was too profound, and Jiang Chen was confused.

Desperate to save his life, he only wanted to know how to remove the poison.

”It is very simple. A man’s vital energy gathers, naturally, in your precious member.”

Now that it had been spelled out, Jiang Chen understood a little, but a bad premonition arose in his heart.

”Master, what exactly is the method you speak of to treat the poison?”

He saw Jiesha looking grave, shaking his head repeatedly, filled with deep emotion.

Anxious, Jiang Chen kowtowed three more times, ”I beg Master to save this disciple’s life. This disciple will serve you with gratitude and will definitely repay your grace of giving me a second life.”

”The method is very simple; the key is whether you can bring yourself to do it.”

As he spoke, Jiesha produced a pair of scissors from who knows where and placed them in front of Jiang Chen.

Taking the gleaming scissors, Jiang Chen’s whole body trembled, and he felt a chill in his crotch.

”Ma... Master, is... is there no other way?”

Jiang Chen swallowed hard, trembling, looking at Jiesha full of hope.

Cutting off his root was equivalent to cutting off his future.

As long as one was a man, no one would want to do something that disgraced their ancestors.

”Disciple, if you don’t detoxify, what is the use of keeping that treasure?”

”In my view, this is a difficult dilemma of choice. If you want to live, if you want to take revenge, you must learn to let go of those two taels of meat.”

Jiesha patted Jiang Chen’s shoulder, earnestly persuading this foolish disciple who had yet to come around.

It was just losing two taels of meat, just becoming a eunuch.

Master was right; it is better to live in disgrace than to die, and only by living is there hope.

”Master’s lesson is correct. This disciple has realized the truth.”

Jiang Chen gritted his teeth, looking resolute, his mind made up.

He turned around ruthlessly, holding the scissors, and cut down hard.

”Snap!”

A crisp sound of an egg shattering echoed.

”Ah...”

”Ah...”

A howl of grief and despair rang out.

Chrysanthemums wither, wounds litter the ground.
