I am the Ultimate Villain, So What If I Kill a Protagonist

110: Chapter 110: No clues point to Chu YuanThe night in Shanghai was filled with neon lights, bustling with prosperity and noise.

With a beautiful woman meeting him, Chu Yuan was in a great mood, no matter the time.

Zuo Shishi drove, taking Chu Yuan to their destination.

The meeting place with the beautiful police officer, Officer Lin Wanzhu, was the Shanghai Commercial Center, the most prosperous commercial hub in Shanghai.

Chu Yuan had originally planned to have Zuo Shishi drive to pick up Officer Lin Wanzhu, but since she insisted on driving herself, Chu Yuan couldn’t be bothered to force the issue.

Upon arriving at the main entrance of the commercial center, a red Ferrari caught Chu Yuan’s eyes.

Beside the Ferrari stood a beautiful woman dressed in bright red.

Fancy cars and beautiful women are usually the most eye-catching sights.

Officer Lin Wanzhu was just as she had been the previous few times; although she had shed her provocative uniform, this outfit of bright red and purple was still a head-turner.

At first glance, Chu Yuan almost couldn’t believe his eyes.

A red overcoat paired with black leggings.

What was Officer Lin Wanzhu trying to do?

Trying to give him a taste of ”uniform temptation”?

”Beauty, are you alone? How about I accompany you to a bar for a drink?”

”Beauty, let’s add each other on WeChat and chat.”

A few young men, thinking they were quite handsome, couldn’t sit still when they saw such a wealthy and beautiful woman. They crowded around to force a conversation.

Unfortunately, all that awaited them was the impatient ”Get lost” from Officer Lin Wanzhu’s mouth.

For such passersby who appeared out of nowhere with ill intentions, Officer Lin Wanzhu couldn’t be bothered to pay attention, responding in the simplest and crudest way possible.

The moment she saw Chu Yuan walking over, a faint smile immediately appeared on Officer Lin Wanzhu’s face.

”I’m a bit late, I hope I didn’t keep you waiting too long,” Chu Yuan said with a hint of ”apology.”

”You’re right on time.”

Officer Lin Wanzhu took the opportunity to link her arm with Chu Yuan’s and blinked playfully: ”It’s windy outside, let’s go inside to talk.”

What was this Officer Lin Wanzhu doing?

When did she become so proactive?

Did she take the wrong medicine?

Chu Yuan wouldn’t be narcissistic enough to think he was so incredibly handsome that Officer Lin Wanzhu had fallen in love with him at first sight and was actively throwing herself into his arms.

Looking around, the group of people nearby were casting looks of envy, jealousy, and hatred, wishing they could devour him.

Chu Yuan suddenly realized.

It turned out Officer Lin Wanzhu was using him, Young Master Chu, as a shield.

Chu Yuan admitted that he was a qualified shield.

Besides Zuo Shishi, there were a group of bodyguards in black nearby, following them with an imposing manner.

People like this were either gangsters or individuals with deep backgrounds; no ordinary person would seek trouble by provoking them.

Although Chu Yuan didn’t want to show off, nor did he hope to act like a Protagonist playing the pig to eat the tiger, having every Tom, Dick, and Harry jump out to seek attention.

Moreover, as a top-tier second-generation rich kid, he couldn’t lack the proper air of importance.

Otherwise, what would be the point of having this identity if he had to do everything himself?

”What would Young Master Chu like to have tonight?” Officer Lin Wanzhu asked with a smile.

Chu Yuan shrugged: ”Dining with a beauty is a pleasure; I’ll leave everything to you.”

”Also, we’re old acquaintances now, there’s no need to keep calling me Young Master Chu; just call me Chu Yuan.”

”Alright, Chu... Chu Yuan.”

Officer Lin Wanzhu still had a faint smile on her face. Even after entering the restaurant, she kept holding Chu Yuan’s arm; the two looked like a perfect couple.

Upon entering, Chu Yuan felt rather strange. He subconsciously glanced in one direction and revealed a faint smile.

”Young Master Chu, you are a rare guest. Please, let me take you to a private room.”

”No need, just find a random place for us to sit.”

Chu Yuan ignored the lobby manager and directly found a seat by the window that allowed him to see outside.

The lobby manager remained amiable and respectfully handed the menu to Chu Yuan.

”Young Master Chu, I’m not sure what you two would like, so I can have the kitchen prepare it.”

”Ladies first. Officer Lin Wanzhu, you order.”

”Alright, I won’t stand on ceremony.”

”Give me this, and one of these too...”

Officer Lin Wanzhu ordered four or five dishes in one breath, asked for a bottle of red wine, and then set her gaze on Chu Yuan: ”Chu Yuan, do you need to order anything else?”

”Just follow what you’ve ordered; I’m quite casual when it comes to dining.”

”Alright, Young Master Chu, please wait a moment, I will arrange it right away.”

The lobby manager was very sensible and immediately retreated respectfully.

Before long, all the food and wine were served.

”Officer Lin Wanzhu, I’d like to thank you for your help in recovering those 20 million in losses for me previously.”

Chu Yuan filled a glass for Officer Lin Wanzhu and added one for himself.

”This is my duty. If it were anyone else, I would have done my best to help them as well.”

Officer Lin Wanzhu picked up the wine glass and drank it in one gulp.

”They say the signature dishes here are the most famous. Today, I can take the opportunity to enjoy the hospitality since you’re treating.”

Chu Yuan smiled. Although he guessed her intention, he didn’t expose it.

Officer Lin Wanzhu picked up her chopsticks, tried the food, and nodded in satisfaction.

”Chu Yuan, I asked you out today because there is something I want to tell you.”

After three rounds of drinks, Officer Lin Wanzhu finally couldn’t hold back and intended to get to the point.

”Oh, I wonder what important matter it is.”

Chu Yuan remained calm, quietly playing the role of a listener.

”It’s like this...”

Officer Lin Wanzhu spoke unhurriedly, recounting the several cases that had occurred recently: ”Deputy Chief Jiang believes that the three cases involving Wang Hao, Zhang Yang, and Cao Shuwen are very likely committed by the same person. The bureau has already set up a special task force and is investigating them together.”

While speaking, Officer Lin Wanzhu stared fixedly at Chu Yuan, wanting to see if there were any changes in his expression.

Unfortunately, Chu Yuan remained calm and composed, with not a trace of expression change on his face.

”Officer Lin Wanzhu, you specifically asked me out and told me about this; you don’t suspect that I, Chu Yuan, have something to do with these cases, do you?”

Chu Yuan looked at Officer Lin Wanzhu with a smile.

Having her thoughts pointed out so directly and the matter brought out into the open was something Officer Lin Wanzhu had never expected.

Embarrassed, she didn’t know how to respond for a moment.

Without waiting for Officer Lin Wanzhu to respond, Chu Yuan continued: ”I can tell you very clearly that this matter has nothing to do with me. If you want to investigate, don’t hold back; feel free to go ahead and investigate.”

Chu Yuan was truly not afraid of an investigation.

Zhang Yang was played to death by the system; even the gods wouldn’t be able to find anything.

Wang Hao was killed by Zhang Yang; even if the people from the Shanghai Police Station found a clue, that would be the final result.

As for Cao Shuwen, although it was Chu Yuan who sent people to send his whole family away, it had already been framed on the people sent by Wang Hao.

No matter what, they couldn’t trace it back to him, Chu Yuan.

Even if they took ten thousand steps back, even if there were some clues pointing to him, Chu Yuan, in all of Shanghai, no one would dare to use those useless clues to make an issue of it.
