I am the Ultimate Villain, So What If I Kill a Protagonist

111: Chapter 111 lets you see enough.Chu Yuan spoke with such conviction that it actually made Officer Lin Wanzhu a bit suspicious.

At first, Officer Lin Wanzhu had also viewed Chu Yuan with skepticism.

One was Zhang Yang, whose family had fallen on hard times, and the other was a red-hot second-generation rich kid in Shanghai; the two could never have had any connection to begin with.

Yet Chu Yuan first called the police, claiming Zhang Yang had swindled ten million from him, and then reported Zhang Yang to her, claiming the other party’s background was unknown—and all of this turned out to be true.

Until later, when Zhang Yang was killed by an explosion from an unknown weapon.

If anyone said all of this had nothing to do with Chu Yuan, Officer Lin Wanzhu would not believe it.

But on second thought, if Chu Yuan really wanted to deal with Zhang Yang, that person with no power or influence, he could simply send a lackey to take care of him and dump the body in the wilderness without anyone ever knowing.

He wouldn’t need to make such a big scene.

Furthermore, Wang Hao had no grudge against Chu Yuan and no connection to him, so Chu Yuan had no reason to go after him either.

Everything fell into a chaotic state again, leaving one unable to make sense of it or explain it clearly.

”Wanzhu, you don’t need to overthink this matter; just handle it according to official procedure. If there is truly concrete evidence proving that I committed these three cases, feel free to come and arrest me.”

Chu Yuan said it lightly, but Officer Lin Wanzhu didn’t think so.

Just as Chu Yuan said, even if there were concrete evidence, there probably wasn’t a single person who would dare to withstand the pressure from the Chu family to arrest Chu Yuan.

For now, she only hoped that this matter had nothing to do with Chu Yuan and that everything was just a coincidence.

While Officer Lin Wanzhu was deep in thought, Chu Yuan activated his X-ray Vision and began to scan the area.

Ever since entering the restaurant, he had felt like he was being followed, though he didn’t know who was bored enough to be tailing him or Officer Lin Wanzhu.

Sure enough, in a restaurant across the street, an expert at the Great Perfection stage of the Dark Realm was holding binoculars, staring fixedly at this restaurant.

It’s him!

Jiang Chen!

Chu Yuan smiled.

After learning of Jiang Chen’s existence from the system, Chu Yuan had launched an investigation into him.

Interestingly, Jiang Chen was also investigating him.

According to the intelligence on Jiang Chen, he was a reincarnator. Before his rebirth, he was just a petty police officer drifting through the bureaucracy, unable to get promoted, and eventually framed by his superior.

Upon gaining a second life, he had also acquired a Case Solving System.

As long as he could solve cases, he would receive corresponding system rewards.

In less than a year of living his new life, he had gone from an unknown petty officer to the currently red-hot Deputy Chief of the Shanghai Police Station, all thanks to his memories from his previous life and the Case Solving System.

As for why Jiang Chen was investigating him and even planning to target him—

Villains and the Protagonist are natural, mortal enemies; fighting on sight and feeling disgusted just by hearing each other’s names is standard operating procedure.

Officer Lin Wanzhu was also a major reason.

Half a month ago, Jiang Chen was transferred to Shanghai. The moment he saw Officer Lin Wanzhu, his lecherous nature flared up, and he launched a series of pursuits targeting this fiery female police officer.

Unfortunately, for this star of the police force, a senior expert and superior who had cracked several shocking major cases in a row, Officer Lin Wanzhu only felt admiration, with not a shred of romantic affection.

Jiang Chen’s repeated, unreserved pursuits had instead backfired, making Officer Lin Wanzhu somewhat disgusted.

If the plot were to continue this way, as long as Jiang Chen stepped up to save the damsel in distress whenever Officer Lin Wanzhu encountered danger,

and occasionally displayed extraordinary methods in front of Officer Lin Wanzhu during their work,

her previous disgust would turn into admiration, quickly taking root and sprouting in Officer Lin Wanzhu’s heart.

This was also a common tactic used by the Protagonist: to win someone’s heart, first make them loathe you, leaving a deep impression to begin with.

Unfortunately, all of this had changed due to Chu Yuan’s arrival.

Officer Lin Wanzhu’s secretive discussions with Police Bureau Chief Jiang Haitian to exclude Chu Yuan from the inspection list had already caught Jiang Chen’s attention.

This time, when he inadvertently learned that Officer Lin Wanzhu actually planned to meet with Chu Yuan, it made Jiang Chen even more suspicious.

Coupled with the fact that Jiang Chen learned from other sources that Officer Lin Wanzhu actually had a close relationship with Chu Yuan, he became completely resentful of Chu Yuan.

The restaurant across the street.

Jiang Chen sat there with a livid expression, having no heart to drink the tea on the table.

The woman he had set his sights on, who had rejected his invitations countless times, was actually here on a date with a playboy like Chu Yuan; the jealousy in Jiang Chen’s heart was already surging like a stormy sea.

This useless second-generation rich kid had nothing but a pretty face and some family background.

Apart from that, in what way was he inferior to the other party?

He was a reincarnator, holding many unknown secrets from before his rebirth.

Most importantly, he was a Child of Destiny, holding the Case Solving System with a limitless future.

He didn’t take the mere Chu family seriously at all.

As long as he solved a few more major cases, he would not only receive system rewards, but rising to the top would be a simple matter.

As for a playboy like Chu Yuan, if it weren’t for the concern about his identity, he could crush him as easily as an ant.

”This mere pretty boy actually dares to target the Bureau Chief’s woman. Do you want me to find an opportunity to give him a beating?”

The lackey beside him looked filled with righteous indignation, as if he only needed one word from Jiang Chen to teach that pretty boy Chu Yuan a lesson in minutes.

He was the newly recruited lackey, Officer Tang Jun; his abilities were mediocre, but he was extremely slick and had some cleverness, winning out by being somewhat loyal.

That skill of bootlicking made Jiang Chen extremely satisfied.

”Shut up!”

”Who do you think you are? Just based on you, before you even reached him, his bodyguards would be enough to teach you a lesson.”

Jiang Chen scolded Officer Tang Jun unceremoniously.

Although he was arrogant, he wasn’t stupid to the point of incompetence; attacking casually without any pretext would only hand others a handle against him.

Jiang Chen wouldn’t do such a stupid thing.

When he strikes, it must be a thunderous blow that leaves the opponent no room to resist.

...

While Jiang Chen was planning to scheme against Chu Yuan, Chu Yuan was also thinking about how to teach this little Protagonist a lesson.

So you like to hide on the side and peek, huh?

Then I’ll give you something intense to see.

”Don’t move!”

Chu Yuan suddenly said.

”What happened?”

Officer Lin Wanzhu was completely bewildered; Chu Yuan’s sudden exclamation had given her a big fright.

”You have some dirt on your face; let me clean it off for you.”

As he spoke, without waiting for Officer Lin Wanzhu to react, Chu Yuan quickly reached out and brushed his hand across Officer Lin Wanzhu’s face.

”Where is there any dirt? Let me see.”

”There’s nothing to see; I already threw it away.”

This was naturally just an excuse Chu Yuan had made up on the spot; if he really had to produce something, he couldn’t have.

”You’re just taking advantage of me, aren’t you?”

”Ah, Wanzhu, if you want me to take advantage of you, I will certainly satisfy that request of yours.”

Chu Yuan became even bolder, pulling Officer Lin Wanzhu over and pulling her into his arms.
